I never saw an MMO which allow the player to customize weapons color...
Would be awesome if ESO implement it :)

Please, stop replying to this topic, at least for today. The complainers are already complaining about many other things, if they find this topic the forum is ruined.

    Am I dramatic enough?

I assumed shields would get dyed with armor. Dying weapons would be dumb though.

Yep, better not complain about Zenigod's decisions. Their word is law, and we should just accept it and move on, even if we don't like it. Every complaint we have is just irrelevant and unimportant, and just because we're paying for their service doesn't mean we deserve to complain and get our way.

I would just like to dye weapons, so that that my Daedric weapons can match my dyed Daedric armor. So that when I am rocking proper Daedric scheme on my armor, my weapon won't clash with this weird blue and yellow scheme.

All the reasoning behind pink swords is all a strawman argument. Do not allow non-metallic dyes. Keep the colors natural. PROBLEM SOLVED. You hear that ZOS Devs? Have dyes for the players, and keep pink and other unnatural metallic colors restricted for immersion-sake. There you go. I should not even have to explain this. Should be common sense, especially to the professional artists in your employ, I am sure.

Who is complaining? I certainly am not. I'm suggesting the point. "Complaining" suggests I have some sort of problem with the game. It's a great game, that's why I keep paying the fee. It is clear that the developers are open to suggestions to make the game better. Here is my suggestion.

you could probably dye metal pink, I know you can use an electrical process to make titanium pink.

I'm pretty disappointed that shields were not automatically included in the armor dying myself. Who wants to see this ugly mismatched shield on your back after you dye your who getup?

Weapons I can understand, I'd at least like to see a few options available - for example I hate the blue steel look of the V12 stuff, would be nice to just have weapons look steel or ebony, so maybe if they just added some metallic options for weapons.

While i do not care for dying weapons, it is currently in the game. Just bot customisable. My current axe for example is Blue and Gold.

It's going to be disappointing though to have say, Black and Orange armour with a Blue shield. I really hope ZOS add the option for us to dye shields.

Hi people. I was overjoyed to know that the next patch will allow custom coloring for armor. However I feel custom coloring weapons and shields is just as important to get a good unified look. I'm calling on all like minded people to place your support here. Already there is custom coloring for armor and clothes. The battle is half way won people. Let us rally behind this cause so we can get the complete custom look we all demand for our heroic characters! (*)

Great idea! Some different shield emblems would be nice also. Perhaps to match our Guild Tabard

That's their business. If that's the look they want then so be it. You play your character your way and at the same time they have the right to play theirs their way.

I think ESO also don't want some players who made this world ugly.
And it ruined the nice environment mixed with those shiny & colorful items.
Perhaps colorful dye only can be worked on cloth & not metal material

That's a shame, there are some nice dyes, and my Dragonknight looks amazing.

And my Templar and Sorc look good too. I admit the shields would be nice too, and ZOS have said it will be happening.

Implementing this would presume ZOS would be willing to go that extra mile with their content development. Everything they have done indicates they are not only not going to ever go the extra mile on anything, but that they'll assuredly take as many short cuts as possible. It's no secret they over stated their ability to produce a high quality product and have a track record with the fanbase for underachieving in patch after patch.

Yes, it would be lovely to be able to dye weapons and armor. Yes, we may see it in a future patch. Yes, well just have to deal with our weapons not matching our armor. But no, it shouldn't be expected, this is ZOS, they don't take their time, they don't try to exceed expectations, they do not go the extra mile. You get what they give you in whatever condition they deem "good enough", and on the off chance that their "good enough" is actually anything spectacular it will undoubtedly be riddled with bugs.

I'm certain they thought of it, it certainly must have come up in a meeting or two, and for whatever reason, be it time constraints, budget constraints, or lack of employees to accomplish it, they decided not to do it.

Just take it for what it is: a late addition of a limited version of a universally common feature found in roughly every MMO over the last decade. Yeah I think they did a pretty good job with it as it is, but they've not exactly overdone themselves or made anything particularly fantastic. I'd be glad if they added player housing too, but unless they do something other than create instances you can decorate (which is likely all they'll do if they do it) it's not going to be anything special. Think ZOS's creative vision far outstrips their creative ability.

To the people who are saying no, it's a terrible idea, perhaps you should try to make legendary items vet 14, and see how the colors messes up...

Here's an example of my character:
    eso_ex10.jpg

    eso_ex11.jpg

Personally, if someone wants to have a pink sword, that's their own choice, they don't need your approval for that, and they couldn't care less about it either! I don't want to have some specific colors that look like poop on a stick, and have no way of changing it.

Either we should have the choice to color ourselves the weapons/shields. Or ZOS puts together a selection of premade colors that actually make some logic... Green/ Purple/ Red makes no sense, even more in Legendary !

i think sword shouldn't be dyeable but shield should be cuz shield is counted as armor type rather than weapon. ( you can enchant armor type enchanment on shield and traits researchable for shield are exactly same stuffs for armor.)

The main reason they need to add weapon and shield colors are because the existing colors are awful. If they were simply some sort of steel (wood/leather for straps, shield parts, etc) I'd be more alright with them not being changeable. But I'm tired of having purple/pink shields on my back that don't match anything and orange or purple blades on my weapons.

We can colour the Armor now because many People wants it. We will get this Option for Shields & Weapons too, because many People wants it.

Zenimax listen to the People, they gave us one Option why should they denie the Option to colour the Shield & Weapon as well? It will fit very well.

And for sure Ladys & Gentlemen, you dont want to run around in your Black Ninjadress with purple Weapons or a green Shield, because the Craftingsystem offers only this Colours at maybe the Legendary Stage.

For an Example, i craftet a 1H Mace and it starts golden, at the legendary Stage it was poison green. That was not the Colour i want and my Shield is light purple, this is horrible too.

So if you want it, post in this Thread. I am sure that Zenimax read it and work on it :D !

We will get it, because we can. Yes, we can B) !.
