Custom color weapons and shields

Hi people. I was overjoyed to know that the next patch will allow custom coloring for armor. However I feel custom coloring weapons and shields is just as important to get a good unified look. I'm calling on all like minded people to place your support here. Already there is custom coloring for armor and clothes. The battle is half way won people. Let us rally behind this cause so we can get the complete custom look we all demand for our heroic characters! (*)

Look if you don't want people running around in pink then start a thread asking for pink to be taking off the color chart. Ill even sign your thread as I think it's kind of silly to, but don't try to stop more customization because you don't like one color, Try to stop that color from being an option.

How does it make sense for armor to be colored, but not weapons? You do realize that historically every color that has been seen on metal armor has also been used on metal weapons, and in the game right now our weapons come in almost a rainbow of colors dependent on the level of the item. Lastly its common in TES for weapons to be strange colors. So why doesn't it work again?

So says you. Who's to say that the metal or wood could not be treated with the same or similar dyes. Often ,as in the case of metal, they are being made of the same material. (Such as steel or Ebony) O.k I get it you don't like the idea. Next.3 -

-If someone wants to purposely make a "horrid" color scheme then that's there business. I personally want my characters to look good and not like crap or a clone. Nothings stopping you from going with the default look if you don't care. My point is there are people who DO care and we should not be held back.
-Who are you or anyone to say a person's color choices are not valid? I said it before but I'll say it again. That's their business. You do your thing and we'll do ours.4 -

Your logic could be used to justify griefing, too. "You just do your thing, and I'll do mine."
It's about perception, style, and immersion. The game adheres to -some- realistic aspects. All player races are bi-pedal. Horses have four legs. People eat food, drink liquids, and use weapons and armor to protect themselves. Likewise, there are folks who would -prefer- to keep weapons and armor looking at least -somewhat- realistic - and blasting people with lime green and passion pink armor and weapons is stupid, ludicrous, and really ridiculous.
So, you keep banging your drum for 'any color your want', and others will keep banging their drums for, 'ok, let's keep it #)$*@* sensible.'.

I don't really care. So we disagree on this point, fine. All I really care about is being able to match my weapons and shields with my armor to get a custom look. You can still have your way and I can still have mine. It's called compromise. Look it up. 1 -

yes, but, i shouldnt have to be forced to see that in whats spose to be a dark and deep world filled with monsters, warewolfs, vampires, bats, daedra, and dremora. seeing people with pink swords and yellow legg guards with purple hats and rainbow colored shields will definately ruin not only my gameplay but many others as well.
im sory, but this is really rediculas.

No, it's not called a 'compromise'.
It's called. "I wanna be able to look liked a dork for lulz".
The game already offers like 17 different styles that change a bit every 2 levels for all 3 armor types. You can do the math to figure out how many different 'combos' that is. Toss in a couple dozen sensible colors, and you have... what... bazillions of options to 'look the way you want'?

emeraldbay✭✭✭✭✭I would love this. I'm pretty particular about my colors, so having weapons that don't match my armor is a pretty big issue. Not that I'm too happy about seeing people running around with pink weapons, but it's up to the player to decide how he wants to look. Yes but having to pick inferior equipment just so you can get the look you want is quite a stretch. I'm already doing what you suggested but it only goes so far. Sure you can go the legendary equip route but that has severe limitations as well. One of many reasons is tempering your equipment also changes the colors. Like I said. There is nothing stopping you guys from using the defaults. I'm just saying the options should be there for those of us who will take the time for a well thought color scheme.0 -

Rodario✭✭✭✭✭Are shields currently not dyeable? I knew about weapons, I just assumed shields would be considered armor... Plus, shields were usually painted in medieval times, cuirasses were not.
And yes, I'm all for dyable weapons and shields. Maybe with a reduced amount of available colors for weapons (steel gray, obsidian black, silver and gold). I'd just be happy if my sword weren't blue...Edited by Rodario on July 12, 2014 6:16AMVictoria Lux - Templar Tank
