Forum Structure Update Feedback

Another suggestion I would like to make (too many replies to go through to check if it's already been mentioned), is to have seperate Sub-Forums for Trading Guilds, PvE Guilds and PvP Guilds, with those guilds that wish to be about all three posting in the original Forum section.

    :)
It gets tiring enough on the eyes having to weed out NA DC/AD/EP PC(computer), etc....

Come to think of it. Could the PvE and PvP Sub-Forums ALSO have their own Sub-Forums for the different Alliances? It would be so much easier to navigate through Guild thread after Guild thread!! No more hoping I didn't miss an important acronym somewhere, lol.

I am again unable to post from the mobile site. When typing a post, once the draft save happens, it disables the post option. I have to then switch to full site and browse back to the thread. It saves what the draft saved but nothing beyond.

I would like the option to choose my language,
read Developer's posts listed in a traditional linear/horizontal style,
have the ability to search by date of post,
have the guild section separated by alliances.

You need to change the link in the ESO launcher > Patch Notes. Currently, the Patch Notes link on the launcher takes you to the old area which is blank.

As mentioned in the Welcome Thread, the guild section of the forums is temporary and will be replaced with a different system in the future.

We're investigating mobile access issues at the moment. We have a few target threads for this, and I see you've already posted here about this.

This should be changed in the near future. In the meantime, we added links to the latest patch note threads in that section.

So you prefer they say nothing?? It's just a mod replying, not a manager or a Dev (actually a Dev probably lacks authority too), they can't actually promise anything, and probably don't have any info at hand.

So they can say "we're looking into it" or NOTHING, go on you choose which you prefer.

I think class forums work alone without the moderator.
It gives them somewhere they can go to see all the feedback and debate about current classes.
Now if they're doing work on that class (like the Nightblade now) they should have some pinned topics which players can give feedback in and read updates.

I don't know if this has been brought up so far but, I'd like to see a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen as well as the top, ie Home Forums General Discussion - English

Pain in the bottom having to scroll back to the top again ^^

I posted this in General Discussion as well...

As it is, the current state of the forums is so chaotic it takes alot longer to traverse than it should, even with using search functions if looking for threads/posts specifically.

In making it alot easier and to not have such a mess, can you (Forum Staff/Admin) please re-design the current structure, creating sub-forums for individual classes within class discussion, login tech support within pc or mac tech support, client crashing tech support within pc or mac tech support, etc.

    Example One:

    - General Discussion
    - Post your Screenshots In Here Thread
    - Class Discussion
    - Templar Discussion
    - Templar Class Skill Discussion
    - Templar Build Discussion
    - Night Blade Discussion
    - Night Blade Class Skill Discussion
    - Night Blade Build Discussion
    - Sorcerer Discussion
    - Sorcerer Class Skill Discussion
    - Sorcerer Build Discussion
    - Dragon Knight Discussion
    - Dragon Knight Class Skill Discussion
    - Dragon Knight Build Discussion
    - Crafting Discussion
    - Alchemy Discussion
    - Blacksmithing Discussion
    - Clothing Discussion
    - Enchanting Discussion

    So on and so forth...

    Example Two:

    - Customer Support
    - PC Support
    - Login Support
    - Client Crashing Support
    - Crash To Desktop (CTD) Support
    - Black Screen Crash Support
    - Infinite Loading Screen Support
    - Performance Issues Support
    - Latency Support
    - Frame Rate Support
    - Hardware Support
    - MAC Support
    - Login Support
    - Client Crashing Support
    - Crash To Desktop (CTD) Support
    - Black Screen Crash Support
    - Infinite Loading Screen Support
    - Performance Issues Support
    - Latency Support
    - Frame Rate Support
    - Hardware Support

Effectively this sub-forum layout will be much easier not only for people using the forums to post in a specific area, wanting to find out information, looking for advice, etc. It will also be much easier for support staff who monitor the forums to not have to sift through several pages of crap from people who create threads such as 'Is it time for me to un-sub' or 'ZOS you've done this or that', etc.

It really would make your lives a lot easier and far less stressful in your working environment than what it currently is. Perhaps as a result there also might be an increase in constructive criticism and maturity from players (Doubtful on those however from prior experience in forums, anonymity generally = e-peen extension for most)

Another thing which would be nice in the forum editor is the ability to use underline.

    Regards,

    BornDownUnder.

*Edit: Unfortunately one cannot use spacing with no characters on the same line of any type without having it removed by the comment editor, so Bold is forum main, Italic is forum sub and so on.

    Hello,
maybe s.o. has already mentioned what I am going to describe as short as possible: Generally, the forum isn't good!
As a result: Since the beginning the ESO-forums have been scarcely used. Many other MMOs, and I mean many of them if not all, have "more attractive" forums than ESO. As a further result, you have lost many customers to much more attractive forums live tamriel-foundry and others.

Forums of other MMOs are more precise, more distinctive, more clear, easier to read and generally feel handsomer than this forum.

Some basic principles of text-editing where not taken into account in this forum:

    1. The text-background is too dark and letters can not be clearly read (contrast issues)! Never take grey, brown, blue, violet or any other variation of these colors for text-background, if the text is already black!! That sucks, especially when reading! (this are basic text-editing issues that any publisher knows in 2014, just not Zenimax!)

    2. You should have noticed that the ESO player base is not using your forums that much. Why this fact hasn't been noticed is not clear for me. Why have no consequences been taken? Why hasn't the forum been "redesigned"? I do not understand.

    3. In fact, I prefer reading tamrielfoundry and others much, much more, than this one here in situ, I must say I hate the colors, I hate the missing clarity and I'd like a general make over of the "official" forums. Look at WoW, look at any other "major" MMO, you'll see what I mean..

imo uneducated and uninformed opinion, the forums focus too much in being pretty, at the expense of function and speed.

Clean and uncluttered is my preference.

I like how Reddit does it and X-Plane.org is also my idea of a functional site ... but then, you know what people say about opinions! :)

And for the wow forums. Yes, go there, and see how postive everyone is there!! Not.

I like simplicity! Its going in the right direction in my opinion.

Make it too complex then new players might not bother with it, also has it become easier for people to join the forums?

I know I had a problem in the beginning with some kind of invite thing when I tried to register.

Well really, I would prefer if this forum adopted a completely different look and layout. This setup right now feels like playing a textbased RPG from back when I was 4. Just navigate from login to a section and you will know what I mean. 'Click here to go the next level'. What the hell?

So, adopt a topic tree instead of a block maze that looks the same on every page like all normal forums do. Stop trying to be a minimalist like you set up the game's UI, because it works about as horribly as this forum.

This is music to my ears! Thank you! Perosonally as a Guild Master, I also would like to see a seperate sub forum for both NA and EU servers in the Guild Headquarters section. Purrlease? :p

Slightly off-topic but in regards to the design, as a designer by profession, I can't help but recoil slightly at the design and the structure of these forums, (I'm sorry!). Currently it is quite 'blocky' and some tables are misaligned, not at all visually pleasing. I don't want to appear like I'm flaming the web development team at all, but it's slightly fustrating knowing that these forums could be so much better. If a forum looks appealing in style more people will be likely to use it. The forums over at TamrielFoundry are excellent for example and look really nifty, they give a better idea on what a game forum should be aspiring to.

My main issue with the forums is that it plays out like a yahoo chatroom. General Discussion is incredibly too broad for people to get any information out of without extreme conflict. Maybe sub forum of that would help out quite a bit more? I ran into this today with trying to get more information on fixing a class. If not, its just like playing the lottery to see what kind of thing is going to randomly be looked at. Too much information I think can be missed because most times, I notice that people do not look at the previous pages, but the front page and move on about their business.

However now this makes me question the forum about modifying the forum. How can we be sure that there will not be another forum posted about this one on how the original forum should be modified? This really seems like having a meeting about having a meeting about having a meeting. Purposely repeated because it can go on forever.

I just hope for some action like today. Seems like the forum issue is an extremely fast and simple fix to a large problem that many of the players do because they make and create forums. I challenge the poster of this forum to make the sub forums today. I estimate it will only take 20-30 mins if you are somewhat decent at it.
