Weapon swap system is broken?

Since last patch (hey, less than 24 hours ago!) i died like 7 times just because that *** is:
1) Dont allow me attack, just stuck and only move i can do is block.
2) Sometimes dont swap weapons or skill lines (like when i was with bow and this *** stuck on 1h+shield skills)
3) Other [snip].

Please, fix that thing you broke please. I dont had those problems before last mainterance.

I read something on another thread with many of us being DW spec and having this issue with not being able to attack.

Do you DW and do you use flurry?

Trying to help figure out if that's the trigger for being unable to attack.

I'm NB, and all use use normally is Swallow Soul, Draining Shot, Prolonged Suffering, Silver Leash and something in 5th.
` button (swap weapons) doesnt help when this happens.

I have/had similar issue but i found how to make all work again. So maybe it will help others.
1 day while in Cyrodiil my weapon switch just stopped working. I have 1h sword and shield as weapon1, and restration staff as weapon2. Switch button will change skill lines, but not weapons(so i will have 1h/shield skills with restoration staff equipped).
What i discovered is, that if you remove all skills from both bars, and remove both types of weapon, then slot them in opposite order(weapon1 in place of weapon2, weapon2 as weapon1), then add skills for those weapons, it weirdly will work.
Only think is that on character selection screen my templar always have restoration staff equipped ;p But thats not really that important.
Tested it several times just out if curiosity-if i switch weapons back to original set up(sword and shield as weapon1, staff as weapon2) bug is back and i cant switch weapons again. Skill lines will, same as before, switch without problem.

No idea what is causing it, but it may help someone else too, it looks like it has something to do with switching two weapons and one two hand weapon, as i can switch 2 staffs or 2 two hand weapons without any problem.
Hope it will help (cant guarantee it of course).

Thats probably latency biting you there, it comes with other lovely features such as not registering keystrokes, beeing hit by abilities with cone while half a screen away and randomly missing hits.

I wish there were 10 skill slots on the skill bar, and when you pressed a skill it just automatically drew that weapon like TSW, but you also had the ability to assign class skills to your desired weapon aswell.

I'm okay with 5+1. Stupid consollers... but i can live with it.
Full of disappointment about bugs like this. Or strange quests like i reported today as broken. I got quest in Shadowfen, went to quest location and... nothing happens! No NPC that needed. I relogged. I relogged again. Reported as bug. Made tons of other quests in other places, returned to fight Anchor and quest NPC was there! Questline was crossed with other one, but nowhere i can see it.

A guildie told me there is an add-on that allows for this

I had this exact same problem today with the same weapon combo. Your solution seems to work for me.

One month passed and *** still happens. 2 times this morning in Couldharbor, when daedra in Court of Contempt attacking me with Uppercut skill (two-handed ones), fully blocking running, attacking and skills. Can walk, can block (yay, for full-medium rogue it so cool), nothing more. Cant even use cloaking. WTF?
Its not debuff effect, after someone killed mobs and saved me, bug doesnt go anywhere.
Or its like 2 hours ambush?
Hmmm... nope. Nothing in C-window.
Glitch saves even after rebirth, only relog helps. DO THE F*** SOMETHING PLEASE!

In the past I've played GW2 which has 2 swap bars and I'm also playing ArcheAge, which has 4.

In neither game is the simple task of populating a bar with different command icons a problem. Both work perfectly. This is a trivial thing to achieve unless you're telling me that either the ESO programmers aren't very good or the engine isn't very good and makes trivial basic tasks hard.

I cannot believe such a basic function doesn't just work. Just like how in other games skills just trigger as well.

Yep, still very broken at this point. If anything, my nb is even worse since the patch. Unresponsive, sluggish, freezes n combat etc........same ole thing as before only much slower and seems to be doing much less dps.

last but not least, it seems since few patches back, I started coming out of stealth when swapping weapons... what the f*** is with that? fix this! I don't want stealth cancelling just because I swap weapon.

On my Nightblade i have had a couple of weird incidents with this. I usually play dual wield with a 2h second. Also i have my swap weapons button on my mouse (Naga side button) anywho. I have noticed while i`m crafting, exploring a new city or somesuch non violent things, my Dual wield weapons show but my skill bar swaps to 2h one. This happened to me 3-4 times yesterday while in cities and considering one of the times it happened i was afk cooking it seems rather a weird bug

I will try this because I am having the same issues. I stand there getting beat to death and can't do anything.

i have not been having this issue at all since the patch. I use bow and dual wield and can easily swap back and forth during combat

Weapon swap works fine, i can switch weapons during combat.
But when monster attacks you before you attack him (like when you fight 3-5 monsters at the same time) there is a huge chance to this sh!t to happens.

I can live with weapon swap bug when game starts (not every time): you wearing weapon2 and... with skill bar for weapon1 O_o its okay, because weapon swap fix this.

I can live with *** when i transform in WW and save mine looks, weapon and skill bar. Its not every time + you can just wait till WWness wears off; this sh!t "transform" you, with stamina bonus and other staff, but you cannot use skills (not avaliable in ww form) and all combat you can do is light fast attacks - really funny when you equip a bow.

I cant live when monster attacks me and i permanently cant fight (not even white attacks!), cant use any skills, cant run... all i can do is *** DIE and relog after this. TWICE for 30 min, THIS *** MORNING . And its exactly same sh!t that was more than month ago when i made this topic, i had this problem with my NB since *** 15 lvl when i get this stupid weapon swap system.

Weapon swap is totally broken. A couple of weeks ago they said they were testing a fix for it, but it was not included in the patch and we have't heard anything since.

It seems to work OK for me as long as there isn't much going on. If I'm not in battle or I'm only fighting one mob, it's OK, but if there are multiple mobs or other players around, it's a crap shoot as to whether it is going to work. Half the time you press the key, it doesn't lag and take a while to swap, it doesn't swap at all. So you never know whether it is just being slow or didn't take. And of course if you tap again, you end up double-swapping half the time. Completely and utterly broken. Refer to a myriad of other games where this can be done the correct way.

I use destro/resto staves and my abilities grey out on a daily basis in Cyrodiil.

Weapon swapping is worse now than before the last patch for sure.

Weapon Swapping – We’ve seen your feedback that weapon swapping lags during combat, and we are currently testing a fix that significantly improves the responsiveness. As this is caused by a number of different factors, we want to be confident in the change before pushing it live.
