OK, serious question: is Australia all one time zone? Because it's a massive country (not as big as Canada, where I live and we have multiple time zones, but still huge), and that would be shocking to me. Aust has 3 times zone (4 in summer with some states adopting daylight saving time) with Perth running 2 hrs behind the eastern states.

Most of the population is on the east cost in the GMT +10 time zone

Really, I think they'll just need a megaserver for Asia/Oceanics eventually. Trying to build any scenario on the Euro or NA server to accommodate Asia/Oceanics is going to cause more problems than it solves.

Ok so as for maintenance, it is a good thing. As for bugs I think I ran into maybe 1 or 2 per zone that I truly could not finish whatsoever. The only quests I am really upset about are the two in Coldharbor. I believe one is a pirate quest and the other is a Stibbons quest. Even though some quest are a little wonky they can still be completed and don't ruin the fact that the game is enjoyable and very playable. If I had to vote on the most frustrating quest to date that I've had to figure out how to do it I would be torn between lighting the braziers part of the final assault quest on Molag Bal and the crates on the ships that took literally 2 hours to complete. My point is maintenance good and whining bad!!! Bugged to hell is an exaggeration, at least to those who played the DC quest lines.

Yeah, realistically I only get to play for a few hours in the AM every day since my shift starts at 11AM and then afterwards I have obligations and family and whatnot. So the fact that the servers are going to be down 40% of the possible time I can play really kinda makes this game not worth owning for me.

At least they don't take down the NA and EU servers at the same time. I'm actually contemplating going ahead and downloading the EU server. It means more character slots. And then I'd be able to play even when one server is down for maintenance.

Why is the maintenance for NA not starting at 3 am EDT/EST? That would make it midnight PST, and for the person in Australia that would be 5pm and they could still play later that evening. And why is it Friday, the day that starts a weekend of play-time for many?
I don't deny that there should be maintenance, it is obviously needed or they wouldn't do it. The schedule for it doesn't make any sense and should be changed.

from a system admin perspectiv doing it munday tusday is stupid almost nothing happens inbatween munday and friday makes sence as between thows days you have manny howers of events going on in the server and you can gather better data

Cool, thanks! Most of the population in Canada is clustered close to the US border, but that spreads our population across 6 time zones.

one EU maint took 2 hrs but the NA only took 1. Since EU happened first they might be able to do the NA maint faster since they've already had one go at it. Just an observation.

This is regularly scheduled maintenance, it is scheduled for every Tuesday and Friday and posted in the Server Status forum. They may not need to use it every Tuesday and Friday, but I think in the first few months of they game they probably will. Not sure which players gave feedback saying to do it on Fridays but ..

Dont agree at all. Mondays they can fix the stuff that was reported in the weekend and on thursdays they can prepare for the weekend.
