Request for Opinion Poll on Inventory / Bank storage spaces.

  • Seroczynski

    1. Are you happy with the size of the current starting size of Inventory and shared account bank?
Yes. I have no trouble levelling all crafting skills while playing both my main and an alt.

    2. Would you like us to double the size of the starting size of shared banks or lower cost of the space upgrades?
More space is never a bad thing, but it's far from required. It seems to be fine to me as it currently is.

    3. Would you prefer that each character had its own bank storage as well as some form of shared bank tab to allow easy access to items you wish to send to other characters you create.
Wouldn't really matter to me. Perhaps a small personal bank account would be something to look into, but it wouldn't bother me either way.

Definitely would like to see individual bank space for each character so the rate to increase is based seperately. Each one starting out with 1000g to upgrade and so on.....then keep the one shared space between them to transfer items over since we cannot mail them. So tired of playing the log in log out log in game every time my main gets full. First pull out all blacksmithing stuff from my main crafting profession, then put in all the stuff I need to tranfer. Log in to each character and pull out that stuff, then log back into main and put blacksmithing stuff back into the bank lol sometimes 3 or 4 times a day to do this endless task. I want to play the game, not stress the server......... :\ Oh and for those that say it is fine the way it is, or LTP are not crafters and mostly sell loot on guild store or junk venders. I also love how they say pay to upgrade...lol Well that is true and also fine if you have tons of gold in your pockets or have had the opportunity to loot rares to sell before the nerf on loots hit us.

    1. happy with bank starting size - NO
    2. cheaper upgrades - YES
    3. sparate bank - NO (because I don't think it's needed once 2 is applied)

How I see things: with time you get enough gold to pay for upgrades and once the bank reaches 200 slots it becomes a non-issue. BUT. In other games you usually need more space the more you progress - like you want to keep different things or keep different sets and so on. Here it's sort of reversed - you need a crapton of space right form the start for your mats and research items. Once the professions are leveled you don't need to keep all the low level mats anymore so you need less space. So you need a lot of bank management at the start, taking a lot of time which is quite frustrating.
I say this because now I'm 120 bank and 140 inventory - with everything in the bank aside form trophies / disguises and enchanting which are on different chars and I don't spend quite as much time managing as I used to. I used to have a provisioning alt for special ingredients (18 of them) but now they're in the bank.

I have to say, it is a challenge.

I had to literally clear out low level materials and runes to get enough space in my bank.

There's only enough space for runes and clothier materials in there. I am however, stocking on all trait materials too, which are starting to look like a fairly decent stock now :).

I think I'll have to do it like all others, and create mules :(.

They always said that you're going to have to choose 1 or 2 crafting skills. Trying to do all of them at the same time is stupid.

No, it's called playing the game.

We have 8 characters. If each one did only one craft, it is still all 6 crafts in one tiny bank.

I'm doing all 6 crafts right now, so ZOS is not stopping me. It is just making the game a lot less fun and a lot more tedious.

So, if is was ZOS' goal to make the game less fun, they have succeeded.

This is virtually my answers, except for three I had "Not that important, it could be nice, but having a shared account is far more important"

Oh, and do we realise that the OP was Asking Zenimax to do the Poll, not asking us for our answers, I mean we may as well give them now, but OP wasn't asking for them

I prefer my Bank being shared, all of it. fast access to materials for my alts, and easy storage. I'm a crafter so I keep everything. Could use a bigger banks though

Don't you have times where you want to save items for one specific character in the bank?

What would be the downside to have a few spaces just for each character and a shared bank for all characters?

not really my character slots are full, one guy is my set piece bank an the rest I havent touched. if I wanted one of my characters to have an item, i would just make them carry it. personally I would feel like this space would be in the way rather it takes away space from form the bank, or they just ad space i'm not going to uses effectively all the time. the reason i concentrate on leveling one guy is to get to those higher gold yields, so i can upgrade my alts' bags faster. pretty much I dont want space to be there if i cant use it efficiently, eventually I wont need this space you are talking about

So, you have one character set aside as a set piece bank, but you would not want an actual bank to do this instead.

    Okay....

cuz these set peices are for lveling only , eventually these too will be gone. My bank is for bulk storage, not stuff my characters will need. This maximizes how long I can stay out without having to make a trip back due to a full bag

There's not even close to enough space. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't craft or they did some workaround like having their own guild bank. I'm tempted to make my own guild just for a personal bank, myself. I've never even considered such a thing in any other MMO I've played. There was always more space than I needed until I played ESO.

So I could make a guild and pay people to join then kick them all when I have the bank? I'd be willing to do that. I don't want to do what other people did and mislead people into thinking I'm making a trading guild when I'm not.

No we just need more space..

This and the Maintenance's times are the main reason i'm done with ESO, i will not resub, i'm tired of having no space and tired of not being able to play..

Why not change the poll to: Should Zenimax provide a button to make all of your toons VR10?
It's an aspect of the game .. deal with it.
To think you can't pick up every single item in the game because you don't have 70,000 bag slots. Awww .. let me find that box of tissues for you.

***. It's not a game mechanic. It's an annoyance because Zenimax wanted to save money on database storage. Hell, I wish leveling was slower. I'm not for easy games. But lack of inventory space has nothing to do with difficulty. Now if I could acquire more inventory space by working for it in game I'd be all for that.

The game tries to give me cool items (like the public dungeon rewards and the VR2 golden saint costume) and I delete them because there's no space. Where is the fun in that?

I think one of the biggest issues with crafting is the number of skill points needed to simply use the large amount of mats you pick up. I understand that eventually we will be able to max every skill on one character, but until then we are stuck with the current system.

I would appreciate being able to access all banks at once from a main menu. I hate having to back out of the guild bank/store/main bank each time. This just seems so poorly planned and inefficient. They could really have done a better job of combining some of the crafting skills. I dread the expense of resetting my skill points once a crafting skill is maxed such as finishing up my trait research.

Fortunately, I can now sell off mats I don't need to save anymore so it does free up a lot of bank space like iron and jute. I hate having to run 6 alts as storage mules.

    1. Not really but I've learned to live with it through the use of alts and spreading my crafting skills around on them.
    2. Yes. Decrease the cost of bank and bag upgrades by 25-50% and I would be happy.
    3. No. I love the shared bank and use it for inventory management on my alts. Creating another separate bank for each alt would just complicate this process. Just make upgrades slightly easier to obtain, IMHO.

There is nothing wrong with the starting size of the bank at all. This is just another case of "please make this game less of a challenge"

I think alot of the problem with more space has alot to do with being able to stack more mats.. ore is stacked to 100 but mats like runes aren't. Make them and other mats that aren't stack able to 100 stack able to 100. Would free up more space. Also treasure maps, why can't those be stacked?

    1. Are you happy with the size of the current starting size of Inventory and shared account bank?
    Yes.
To be honest, the first "Bag / Bank" upgrade is relatively cheap. It gets nasty in the 100+ range though.

    2. Would you like us to double the size of the starting size of shared banks or lower cost of the space upgrades?
    No/Yes
I don't think they should "double" starting size. I sure would like to see some viable filters though. Managing inventory is difficult at best.

    3. Would you prefer that each character had its own bank storage as well as some form of shared bank tab to allow easy access to items you wish to send to other characters you create.
    Undecided
I don't think this is a necessity. As it stands currently, I have multiple alts whose sole purpose is to hold like materials ( ie.. one smithing alt who has all the ore, ingots, ect. ). I do spend a lot of time logging into these alts to move inventory around though.

Having a small individual bank and greater shared bank would be nice. I find the minimal skill UI and small shared bank space kind of challenging in a good way, however. My solution is to have 1 mule and to break down items as I level the crafting. I'm not a hoarder, however, so I have no trouble getting rid of mats and items I don't need...I realize this will probably hurt me when I start leveling other characters though.

I pretty much hord until im full, then I burn off the excess for leveling, just enough that I have at lease one left over so it will stack nicely with the stuff i pick up :)

I know some people will argue on this point, but I have to say that there's been two games I've played that did crafting inventories right. Those were Guild Wars 2 and Neverwinter. Each had a separate crafting inventory where materials were stored until you used them. That would go a long way to solving the current messy state that inventory is in right now.
