To everyone stuck in Reapers March, If you have a friend in Coldharbour you can port yourself to them and skip the questline to leave RM. I did that last night and it was such a relief... It sucks that we have to rely on finding ways around bugged quests rather than fixes from zenimax... real shame because it really is a fun game.

To all Veteran Ranked Players stuck on this quest.. It would seem that today's patch has RESOLVED the issue.

Long time coming and I honestly don't know if I want to continue playing... But it's fixed!

Not fixed. Issue is still occuring. Progress can still be blocked and currently as of this post IS BLOCKED.

Going to be honest, I tend to button mash through quest dialogue. So, I'm not sure if the issue I am having with the Quest "The First Step" is the same issue being mentioned in this thread.

But yesterday, after every NPC in the room during the final ceremony was spoken to, I was unable to "engage" or speak to the Khajiti NPC in the middle (presumably the leader of the ceremony). There were at least 15-20 other people who could not engage her as well there hopping around for an hour.

Now I don't know if this is the same issue as before, or if the "fix" for that issue caused this issue, but wondering if there was an ETA for fixing this quest once and for all? Until I finish this quest, it seems I am unable to get the quest that allows me into the Mage's Guild in Dune so I can gt the Skyshard in there, as well as being unable to complete the Reaper's March main quest line.

I'm really sorry to hear that the hot fix didn't stick for over 6 hours.

I am having the same issue as priest above!. Tried to do the quest today and I can't interact with the middle NPC after ive spoken to all the "Elites" as it says in the optional objectives. so I relogged, reloaded UI, and abandoned the quest to try and fix it and now I cannot even pick the quest back up... went back to greenwatch place where I got the quest and I can't pick it back up again so not only is it broken but is it also that I cannot even complete Reapers March now. I had heard this was a buggy area but Gosh.. Please sort it out.

If it helps, the quest did work immediately after the patch was introduced for it, and I was able to progress, so it's probably not the same root issue.

You guys seem quicker on the draw lately... I like it.

If there is something like this that players are doing to break a quest for another player, then I would report it. Report a single insstance as a bug, but more than once to the same person is extreme. That's harassment in my opinion. Especially when someone does it repeatedly. It could also be considered exploiting, although in a weird third party kind of way....

The First Step bugged out for me just now.

Shazah disappeared after killing her fathers team mates.

tried relogging, tried reloadui before that, about to try dropping quest and see how that goes.... huz-aaaahhhh =/

edit: second time around got a prompt to talk to shazah after killing fathers team mates, first time around got prompt to got to next room.
