They should add this in the real-money store.

Why? This is a subscription game, not F2P.

In game currency for a barber shop / tattoo artist etc yes, real currency no.
You are right. But personally I am somewhat attached to the idea that you create your character once and you have to stick with it. People that got 'affected' by the zoom bug should be considered an exception since I can understand it could have a very negative effect if you are unable to properly build your character a face (I personally did not seem to be affected by this, perhaps I did not even notice).

But aside from hair and tattoos, changing one's physique is a whole other matter in my opinion. Somehow I feel like people shouldn't be allowed to change theirs all the time. Zenimax mentioned that the real-money shop would only include cosmetic changes, and that's where I link the two. It seems like it's more of a personal view than I initially thought.

Same problem here, I couldn't see her face properly at creation because of the lack of 'zoom in' I realised later that she looks really angry, especially when crafting, it's quite scary looking! :o

But what does it matter to you if someone wants to change their characters appearance? How will this impinge on your game enjoyment? Is your character married to theirs or something? Why would you want to force someone else to play with a character they aren't happy with just to suit you?

Perhaps because it's not realistic? But it's a game and Magicka, Daedra, Skyshards et al aren't real either.

Besides, people change their hair style / colour all the time IRL, get tattoos and even sometimes have them removed, lose weight, gain weight, develop their muscles, lose their muscles, grow beards, shave beards etc etc.

Only thing I agree should not be changeable is race and class, because these are not just cosmetic choices. But everything else that is a cosmetic choice should be customizable in-game and for in-game currency. it should not be a cash shop option because this is a subscription MMO, not some F2P title.

I would like a way to easily see or save what appearance settings I chose in character creation. As Firestar mentioned, the characters just don't look the same when they are in the game versus in character creation. I end up spending a lot of time creating a character, only to find that the brown hair I chose in character creation ended up appearing more blonde in the game. I don't mind deleting the character to start over, but I can never seem to get all my other settings the same. In SWTOR, this is handled by having a number associated with each setting (e.g. I picked chin width #7). In EQ2, this is handled by saving a file with your settings for a character appearance, then loading your file when you want to tweak just a setting or two.

Please also just let us change our appearance. Like many others on here, I was unable to zoom in on my first character's face during creation, and the result was disastrous. This is the only game I have ever played where another player actually commented that it looked like there was something wrong with my character's face. Then the other player said they would try to fix my face, and used a hammering emote on it. Just great.

    I'm in.

I was affected by the zoom bug, and had I known it was only affecting your first made character, I would have trashed the first one and simply remade it. But, I didn't know and that character is still my main.

I'd love to be able to go back and tweak the character customization again.

My character ended up with gold lips(tick).

Now I just RP it as spending too many late nights with Queen Ayrren ... if you know what I am saying.

That and it suffers the problem Oblivion and even WoW does... crap lighting during character creation. That really should be done in neutral light, without any effects. WoW Horde faction has a red glow, death knights have a blue glow. Oblivion was tainted by bad light. Skyrim was okay. Morrowind it didnt matter.

I had the same issue on day one. I am not happy with the way my elf looks, and i would love to change her hairstyle. I wish there was an option in the game to allow us to re-visit the character appearance customization menu. Maybe include a small fee to stop people from changing their appearance constantly(not too expensive like everything else!).

This would be nice someday .. perhaps an Argonian medic called 'Silus Chinlift' or something could perform the surgery?

How about "Can't Fix Ugly" for the Argonians name?
