Veteran content = slack dev end game

I just hit 50 today and I have to say that I dont really feel like playing this game when veterans is just another start of leveling content.

Not only is it lame, lore breaking and pure slack filler-content from the developer's side to add in this so called Veteran content.

When I hit max level (50) I dont want to level anymore. I want endgame. Dungeons. Raids. Epicness. If i wanted to level in another faction I wouldve made another character.

Sorry but this just isnt for me and Im quite sure many feel like I do.

    Don't you want their Skyshards?

Besides you do their zones, grab their skyshards and make a really full build...THEN when you get VR10 you can do the raids and stuff.

I'm Veteran Rank 1 and I've been mixing it up with some pvp and backtracking on some things I skipped a bit etc..

I love having solo content besides the same crappy daily rep grind at max level.

Seriously, max level in most games is just daily's, gear based pvp, and repeating the same 4 or 5 raids over and over again to complete your "Tier x Pineapple plate" set. Which is replaced in 2 months during the next expansion by green gear. The fact that they have anything different makes me happy

I'm not 50 yet but I kind of have to agree. I'm leveling three characters, one in each alliance - I don't really want to do all this stuff again when I get to 50.

Can't you start doing veteran dungeons at 50? Do you actually have to level up again?

    You're missing my point.

The skyshards could easily just be restricted to the faction leveling in their own area and not be accessible to other players.

I mean...the design as it is now, is just slack game design from a higher standpoint.

AND you even run around without no world pvp or engagement other than the other Veterans you see and meet.

This kind of game design is so bad on many levels ...

Is doing the other faction's content necessary? I will have plenty of skill points by the time I'm 50. I have no interest in even more solo questing.

Are you guys completely ignoring the existance of Craglorn, the veteran dungeons, and trials? You have more to do than just questing at endgame. The quests are mainly for completionists and stuff to do while you wait for a group.

I am aware Craglorn is not out yet but there are still vet dungeons.

Here we go, barely 2 weeks into the game and the power whiners are complaining about end game already. Go ruin another game with this crap...oh nm, you've already ruined most of those. You want end game, go back to playing single player or multi-player games and stop whining in forums and insulting the devs by calling them lazy.

Pretty sure VR10 is max level.

I know it isn't the same as "50" like in other MMORPGs... but it wouldn't matter if they called it "Omega1/2/3/..."

50, VR10, Super Gamer 10... max level is max level however they want to switch it up.

Level 50 as max level in ESO is just a state of mind or a marketing thing, take your pick. There are really 60 levels in this game.

But how fast do you get XP on other factions territory? I mean, as I understand, there are 10 VRs and 2 opposite factions with several zones, do you get to vr10 only when you finish with the last faction or already at the end of the 2nd faction but before the third or even before that?

Perhaps if you'd stopped to enjoy the game itself rather than rushing to max level (which you are still 10 levels short of), you'd have had a different experience.

BTW, there is no such thing as end game, anywhere... the reason, because in an MMO end game is only possible when the game is ending (as in shutting down). That is the only way to be certain you are really max level. Otherwise it's really Current Max Level Content (CMLC).

The reason I know this is that I have played a real end-game character. I sat on one of my L50 Incarnates when the City of Heroes servers went down. I know it was truly endgame because after that the new content was a simple message from the publisher... Unable to Connect. I had truly won the game, although I sadly lost an entire universe that made me happy in the process.

    I prefer this.
As was already mentioned in this thread, the usual end game consists of repeating daily quests, repeating a handful of dungeons/raids then rinse and repeat some more.

If you want the same old content, then play the same old mmo's, i'm not trying to be a *** about this, but really anything even slightly different for a change is a breath of fresh air.

sorry its not for you, but personally i hate getting "endgame" and being constantly forced to cycle through the same boring raids over and over to get that epeen piece of gear, ooh look at me i have ilvl ridiculous gear aint i amazing, rinse and repeat, i'd get too bored too fast if that was the case

Its terrible developers created content and expect you to play through it how dare they. Top it off you can see all the content with 1 character and the extra content is scaled to actually be difficult./sarcasm

3 factions with 3 full though out stories to keep us entertained for hopefully 2-3 months and we get to play through all of them. V1-10 is game changing from what I hear now you start to experience a real challenge in the game.

Haha ofcourse there were many fanboy flames back..I knew that

Most of you are STILL missing the point...it doesnt matter if the max level is called 50 or VR10 or if I myself leveled "fast" or what I did...who are you to tell what my definition of fun is? What if I love fast progress? What if I actually listened to the story during the beta and now want max level?

Go away with your fanboy flaming that doesnt have a proper argument.

But you'll all figure out what im talking about in a couple of weeks I guess.

If you think ESO is your first born god sent child thats going to be your new "home" for the next years, you're either deluded or strongly misinformed.

    I'm v1 as well, and I listened to the story, I got 5 days /played time. :P

I'm trying to finish the main quest in Coldharbour, but it's bugged.
I can't wait for them to fix it so I can experience the other factions stories, and they will scale to 50.

    That is awesome.

Content is content, just because you don't like to quest that doesn't mean there's nothing to do in the game, it just isn't the content you like to do, so move on to something else, throwing a tantrum isn't gonna change anything, and saying stuff like "the game is bad" is only an opinion.

I like the game, and there's more content here for me to do than many other mmos, I haven't even touched Cyrodiil yet.

    Have fun

Just to toss this in as well, because I don't think anyone has covered it, but if the devs waited to have years of end game content out before they ever released the game, you'd probably be waiting a few more years to play it. Then more than likely you'd be complaining about the game taking too long to release. Basically the devs can't win either way for this, so I'm glad they choose this option of letting us play while they continue to build more content.

Different people have different tastes, I'm I'm glad ESO's endgame is not just a cookie-cutter of other games' endgames. I'm sure it will evolve - we have yet to see the adventure zones, for example. But so many games end up focusing on the grind at endgame - dailies, hierarchical raid structures, reputation grinds.

I really hope that ESO can offer something different for the people that are getting tired of grinding for grinding's sake. The fact that 10 more zones open up at 50 is great. The questing becomes the real game rather than the grind you rush through to get to the real game. If you don't like quests, this is probably not the game for you.

Complaining about endgame this early is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen on this forum so far.

Give them some time for crying out loud. Let the game grow and expand a little. It's your own fault for zerging to the end of the game in 5 days.

I think of it as having 150 levels. As I heard one Veteran rank is supposed to take as long as 10 levels in the home faction by comparison. So 50 seems to be only a third of the leveling experience and not the max. Does that make any sense?
