Well, I havent heard that story, but when a product is sold it, it is sold out. Making more will take time. As for the talking with ZOS, who knows... perhaps its true.

Should they have given you the full code when you purchased? Probably... but here we are.

I don't want to blow your mind here, but the whole point of a preorder is to get lots of orders and then PRODUCE THAT MANY of the product. In the case of limited editions, even moreso, retailers should be allocated a fixed number and/or be reporting real-time sales data to the mfr. to prevent overselling.

The blame falls squarely on Zenimax, and after two days of mayhem, they can't even give fans and customers the olive branch of extending early access. Complete BS.

    Har!
Just noticed that they changed the title of my thread.
Used to be: "'Because REASONS! That's why.' -ZOS"

Well, I guess that answers the question as to whether or not the mods actually exist.
Unfortunately it also confirms that the only thing they care about is attempting to preserve what's left of their crumbling image.

Devs-- you've heard the mob, and you know what we expect-- now end the radio-silence and give us an actual statement!

    Your options are incredibly few:
    1. Continue to do nothing and be hated for it.
    2. Own up to the mistakes and put out a simple apology for dropping the ball, extend the grace period, and be loved for it.

    What's to think about?

Hey ZOS... easy solution here. Confrim the purchase, they have their reciepts, confimation #'s etc. Make the digital version available to that user just like you did for to those of us the only bought the digital copy. Done.
    What's the big deal?

I would expect that if I buy the box set I would have access to a downloadable digital backup copy.
  • RichterVonStrid
I sent in a complaint to ZOS and GameStop. ZOS has yet to acknowledge my existence, but GS did reply with this.

"Thank you for contacting us regarding your GameStop.com order.

A review of our records indicates your order was shipped on 04/03/2014.

*All pre-order games will be shipped on the product release date. "

order was shipped on 04/03???!!! WTF!!!! I ordered it 1/30. Why on earth would you ship it on the release date?!?!? Even though ZOS assured people they would have it in time. I can see holding an offline game, but there is no way to play the game early until ZOS opens it up so shipping it a week ahead of time would have made the most sense. I asked them if this was GS policy or if ZOS set the shipping date. Waiting...

    Total bull****

You do have access to a downloadable digital backup copy.
It is accessible from your account web page.

You just can't play it without the codes in your physical box set.

@Kainam‌ Omg! You used my siggy :) should I feel special?

Btw - I'm still in the same boat. No response from ZOS and no game.

Good to know; I was unaware of this.

Now if I could just get that dang grace period extension....

Yup, I'm still one of the hundreds as well.
ZOS passing the buck, and no response from them for one day now.

I would just buy the digital version and return my physical one, but my son is SO excited for the statue. He's been waiting patiently for 2+ months. I don't have it in me to disappoint him after waiting so long.
  • gustasonmichaelub17_ESO
At this juncture, and for me at least, this is no longer about what we could've/would've/should've done.
We-- the ones who spent the most money for the "best" version of the product-- are the ones getting hurt the most.
I still want the box of goodies; I also want a temp code so I can get back to work on all the research that's not getting done. -__-

Idk how old your son is, but from what people have been saying-- it might be wise to fill him in on the state that some peoples Collector's Editions are showing up in.
If he knows going in that there's a [somewhat good] chance of the statue being broken, he might be more understanding if yours turns out to be. :/
Same goes for the chance that the box will show up sans code and you still aren't able to play.

HOLY CRAP I'M IN THE GAME!

My exhaustive journey up 'til now has been documented all over the forums, but I'm very happy to say that my CE box showed up an hour ago and ermahgerd it even has the codes in it.
The game didn't prompt me to go through the terrible verification process that everyone else had so much trouble with.
I logged in and *gasp* my bank hasn't been deleted [again] [yet]!

And, as promised to all the haters and trolls--- ne'er again shall I darken these halls so long as I have the ability to be in game instead.

To all my fellow veterans of The Elders Scrolls Offline-- your day will come, and this, too, shall pass.

@Phyrdrin, @otomodachi, @gharms, @RichterVonStrid, and the myriad others who've shared my plight and shared in my anguish from either the headlines or the shadows-- you will be in my thoughts.
You guys and many more I'm failing to mention have made this period as painless as possible with your encouragement, jokes, and insights.

I hope to someday [soon] find myself fighting side by side with the likes-o-you.

If you guys need anything in-game, I'll do whatever's in my power to help.
    @TheGodfatherGus <-- Me

    To Zenimax:

It was Amazon who fixed this for me.
It wasn't done tidily either-- but was borne of the masses cancelling their orders and returning their games because of your outrageous lack of PR finesse.

I was on the "guaranteed-shippers" list of those who pre-ordered, but they didn't get the units to ship from you (a story which ALL of your "trusted retailers" will corroborate)-- I got mine because some else's box was returned with extreme prejudice.
I won the lottery in getting my game today, but if I hadn't, I'd be among the many others trying to get Amazon's $50 credit as an apologetic compensation for having been wronged.
Amazon is taking care of us where you won't.

I bought the "best" version of your game because I wanted to support the hell out of you.
Going forward, wiser to the ways of the world, I will be duly wary of anything with your name on it.

The saddest part-- it's possible that you actually did everything right.
It's possible that you've been working your asses off to solve all of our problems from the minute you received our tickets.

But we would never know it.

All people were/are asking for [generally] was/is understanding, apologies, a little grace, and COMMUNICATION.
You've done irreparable harm to your image with your unwillingness or inability to communicate.
Forget the bugs--- those were/are inevitable; we'll work through those.
Forget the patching--- we need those to fix things and the people who say otherwise are so backwards as to barely be worth mentioning.
But all the time we've spent wondering if you'll ever address our concerns because you continue in your refusal to open up to us? That won't be forgotten or forgiven.

I know I speak for a whole lot of people here when I say you've got a lot of lost ground to make up before you re-earn my respect, my trust, and my continued financial support.

I really hope you do, Zeni.
    I really hope you do.

And those of us who've waited nearly a week for our late copies of the game are stuck on these forums -- it's as close to playing the game as we can get. We just sit here and complain while waiting nervously to see if our game code is missing from the box or whether our little statue is broken. That's not the joy and excitement we expected, but hey, it's a bit of adrenaline at least...?

@gustasonmichaelub17_ESO‌ They don't allow goodbye posts, so you might the most perfect "Hello!" post ever. Awesome. :) Glad you got into the game, glad you got your box too. :)
