Everyone, please remember that early/extended access ended today. If you are getting the error that your login information is invalid and you HAVEN'T set up a payment plan yet, THAT'S WHY!

To set up your payment plan either a) launch ESO and at the login page, click the blue link, or b) click the Home button at the top of this page, then the Account button. You'll be taken to your account page (or rather, a queue to get into the account page since the server is suffering such massive traffic right now). Once you get in, you'll see a notice saying you need to set up a subscription plan. There should be a blue link in there. Click that and then select to either use a credit/debit card, or a game time card, and then click the Continue button below those option. From there it's just a matter of filling out the required information.

YOU AREN'T PAYING FOR THE 30 DAYS NOW. You are merely providing information for the way you intend to pay for the recurring fee AFTER the 30 days has ended. This is standard practice for all services that offer free time, trials, and use recurring payment models. Yes, you may see an automatic charge to the account, but this, again, is NOT a payment! It's only an authorization hold; these are used to verify that accounts are legit and will fall off in a few hours to a few days, depending on your bank.

It might take some time for the request to be fully processed, so wait about 5-30 minutes before trying to log back in.

Also, if you picked up a physical copy of the game or received one in the mail, please keep in mind you'll need to enter the physical code that came with your game on the account page as well, if you haven't done so already.

Unacceptable. Many of us were offered 30 days for whichever edition we purchased, and we should not have to buy additional time to enjoy those 30 days. This entire event is driven either by incompetence or greed, bottom line.

Would it be possible for you to take a screenshot of what you see on your page? If so please make sure you edit out certain information; I mainly just want to see if your screen looked like mine.

Did you get the physical or digital copy?

Did you go to your page from the link in the login screen from the launcher or from clicking the Account button on the site?

You AREN'T. PURCHASING. THE. TIME. NOW. Please understand, this is just to VERIFY your account information and the authorization hold is to ensure the account information is legitimate. I'm not sure what the deal with time cards and those other options are; perhaps ZOS is refunding that charge to a bank account or something. I can't speak for that, but I can tell you for certain that people using credit/debit cards are NOT paying for their 30 days.

So they catch their tail now - They blocked everyone from accessing the game and demand to provide subscription plan (that is strange to stop valid customer access to service he paid to get some cosmetic information) and now the site is blocked so we can not tell what is the plan.

Thanks for the info, but it doesn't help one bit when you don't even get an option to set up a sub, and when you enter your game codes all it says "this product requires eso". This whole thing is a huge customer service fail, and I still haven't seen one update or acknowledgement from them.

If it's just an authorization, then why does it have to be done now? Why not wait until a week before the end of the "free 30 days"?

That isn't the point. The 30 days were awarded to us for purchase of the game. It should be no different than entering a code for a time card. Some of us don't -want- a subscription plan. We shouldn't have to sign up for one just to access something we already have to begin with.

Ah, no. The option to set up a payment plan has been available for at least a day now. People could have already set those up; there was nothing forcing people to wait till today.

They're simply trying to verify that the information you intend to use for the recurring fee is legitimate. This is the same thing ANY site asks for when you sign up for a service that requires a recurring fee. Even things that offer free trials like Netflix will "demand" you put in valid payment information before you get access to the "free" content.

As for the site...it's not blocked, there's just a huge number of people waiting to access it.

But if someone decides to play one month only and do not do any subscription plan then he can not play the game he paid for - that is not normal.

That is the problem that they are created! Why they dont extend time till end of 30 days that we paid for?

Every service with a recurring fee requires you put in valid billing information before you get the service. Free trials, such as Netflix, require this information before you get the free time. That's because they want to make sure that they have proper information once the billing actually occurs.

This is much the same. The billing isn't happening now. You're just verifying the information. Any immediate charges aren't actual payments, they're merely authorization holds to, again, verify the account. They'll fall off in a few hours to a few days, depending on the bank.

And just like those other services where you need to provide information before getting the service, you can always CANCEL THE PAYMENT OPTION before the 30 days ends. You'll still have your 30 days but you won't get any renewal fees after it expires.

They did do this all wrong. They should of had you put this payment info in when you created account. For early release they should of had it done like 3 days before start.

@Arunei, appreciate that you are trying to help out here, but a lot of us don't even have an option to set up a sub. Not one place on the account summary page does it give an option to do so. And yes, I do have my physical copy and codes, those don't work either-keeps telling me I have to have the game, which I assume means that I need to subscibe, but again I have no option to do so.

It's not the same. The other companies you refer to only charge $0.01 - $1.00 for pre-auth, just to verify the CC information is valid. What Zenimax is doing is preauthorizing the full sub amount, while we're still in the "free for 30 days" period, which was already paid for as part of the preorder purchase.

Same problem here but then I logged out and waiting in queue. Makes sense we would have to log out and in to have it update. At least I hope it does. Heck only 100 people in front of me.

Did you get to the Account page from the Account button or from the login screen of the launcher? Is it possible for you to take a screenshot (with sensitive information blocked) so I can see if your page is the same as mine was?

I can't speak for why ZOS is using the full amount, but it IS just an authorization hold. As an example, I get my pain medication online. Including S&H, it's 108 bucks. When I order a refill, my card is immediately charged with a FULL 108 authorization hold. This drops off after a few days, and the real charge isn't applied until my refill is approved and actually shipped.

Some companies DO have the entire amount go through for authorization holds. I'm not sure why but it's not unheard if.

Worse part is once you get back in I hear people are getting error msg's when they try and save info and have to start all over. BUT I still think it has been a great release up till this point.
