Should we be able to choose which currency our extra tome points are converted to?

I would very much like to be able to determine which currency my extra tome points are converted to. I think we should be able to choose gold, tel var, alliance points, archival fortunes or seals, or one of the other currencies I haven't thought of, like keys or something.

The conversion rate wouldn't be great of course for the other than gold currencies, but I still think it would encourage more engagement.

This would encourage players to keep pushing the new endeavor system to it's maximum, and spend more time in game. This QoL change would increase the time spent in game by a lot of players I think.

Please think about it ZOS.

The system would just reward farming if it was anything other than gold. Its also not meant to drive a wedge between the casual players and super active ones. Other rewards may detract from the other activities and content.

Too many options is a thing, I would find it stressful trying to figure out what to convert the points to.

I'd prefer if there were Currencies and other Consumables we could just buy repeatedly on the Bonus Pages. It would give us more freedom in what we want than having to lock extra Points into any one thing.

I don't have a strong opinion on this and don't really care one way or another. I voted no because there may be different value to different currency and everyone should just get the same thing for engaging with the same systems.

Also it seems needlessly complicated for what is supposed to just be a small bonus.

On the other hand....not having to run IA depending on how many fortunes we could get does sound appealing.

They just need to do the one thing every person has suggested the whole time. The same thing Fallout76 does.

A bonus page of repeatable currency (or other repeatable stuff) purchases so people can use up their points as they see fit.

That’s it. That would solve all of the rollover problems right there. And then the only people who have to deal with autoclaim or gold conversion or whatever are those who neglect to buy stuff from the active tome in the first place.

The two bonus pages now are - for all intents and purposes - just pages 11 and 12. There’s nothing different about them than the other ones, save that they just unlock together. It makes no sense.

The infinite track is the clear answer. I hope they go this route, and we're in the early stages of Seasons/Tomes, and these systems always change, so it could happen.

As previously stated, F76 does it really well. I also like Dead By Daylight's infinite track for their pass as well, you just keep spending your Rift currency on Bloodpoints, which is what you unlock perks/items with on your toons.

    For ESO, you could do:
    -various currencies (moar seals plz!)
    -crown meals/potions
    -mimic stones

..heck even more expensive store items like an appearance token here and there (for an equivalent number of tome points) would be pretty rad.

idk, this sounds too much like "play how you want" (the core design philosophy). i don't see that happening.

You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it, so now you want cheap thrills and, like, plenty of them....

I like this idea. A bit better than 'buy infinite' but that's because I don't trust ZoS to have things in there for everyone. What I value isn't what a PvPer values.

But both could work really well. I have all the gold I need. I could definitely use more AF, Writ Vouchers, and Crown Gems.

I'd much rather have a repeatable bonus page. If currencies happen to be one of the repeatable rewards (maybe via a random currency bag), cool, but I'm more interested stacking tripots or Perfect Roe or Aurbic Amber or something like that. Other strong repeatable options include a gold grab bag of high-level mats, Unopened Treasure Maps, and Purple Companion Gear grab bags.

I have plenty of gold, and most I know have more than me. What we need is the other currencies. Which currency varies from person to person, so it would be nice to be able to choose which currency our extra points were converted to for sure.

I wonder if ZOS is regretting creating so many different currencies yet? I know it kind of stinks for the players.

And the OP forgot to mention transmute stones as currency. Some might want those. I know I'd love to be able to sell my extra transmutes in game as past threads have advocated for.

Yes. The gold conversion ratio is simply not generous enough. And I think people suggested it be something like 1:100 or 1:1000. Right now, just doesn't feel worth it.

The whole Tomes systems needs to better respect player agency. And I think overall, ZOS needs to focus more on that than engagement incentives. I'd feel much more engaged if the fruits of my labor were better under my control.

I also support the idea of repeatable purchases, where you can use your Tome Points to buy the same items repeatedly.

Transmute Crystals are a bit problematic, since there's a 1500/3000 cap on those, unless they make a drastically different conversion rate for it, since 1:10 and 1:1 can't work with it.

In my opinion, if there was a conversion for other currencies, it should only be for the limitless ones like Tel Var, Fortunes, Writ Vouchers and Trade Bars.

I think the OP is onto something here. We all have gold and gold is easy to get. I'd rather have a pittance of other currency than the tiny bit of gold their giving in exchange for our extra tome points.

Obviously it would be nicer to let players choose a currency, especially if it included otherwise limited things like seals and currencies from specific activities. But it's not supposed to be (another) good reward, it's a compensation mechanic to give us something so ZOS aren't just deleting the points they won't allow us to carry over.

That's mostly good for ZOS because it keeps those currencies limited and means we have to earn them as intended, but it's arguably good for players as well because knowing you'll only get gold removes the pressure to keep farming tome challenges after you've got all the rewards and frees up time to spend on other things instead.

That's how I've seen it done in other games too. In Pokemon Go once you've got all the rewards from a season pass any further points get you stardust (the game's basic currency). In Guild Wars 2 the Wizard's Vault lets you get an infinite number of random crafting materials (which you can buy at any point, before or after getting the limited rewards).

I am sorry, I meant to vote "Yes" and I got no idea how it clicked on "No" :(
If we could get Seals from repeatable tome rewards, I would be grinding those hard <3

Anything else is much less lucrative for me personally. I got lot of uncompleted weeklies piled up simply cause there is no motivation to do them if they will be converted to a bit of gold. I actually don't know why we have increased tome points payout after unlocking all pages, at the moment
