"There are two sides two Vengeance. Those who react immediately and strike without preparation or warning. Then there are those that simmer in their hatred and plot and forge revenge from the pits of the Ashen Forge. Some may wipe multitudes away, while others shall tumult in killing them. The piles of bodies will rise and necromancers will raise them again. Which is why they must be burnt to Ash. Relish no victory until the remains of your enemy clouds the lungs of all present." -Acarith
What I mean:
There are plenty of people that may want hands free, simplified, pre-made pallets to pvp with. I'm not one of them. Time investment into builds is a big part of my gameplay loop that takes me in and out of PvP & PvE. There's a chance a majority of Pvper's are in my camp (share my playstyle). While I did enjoy the first vengeance test by playing an arcainist, for a new grindless PvP experience, I soon vacated the tests to play BGs on my good old main class. Recalling to when the 'no proc rule' drove away pvp engagement in No-CP campains, Vengeance and combat changes towards it would do much worse if not properly done.
I was once a veteran rank 2 and a V14, who transferred from PC, could wipe me and 30 other players. This greatly inspired me to continue my Pvp journey as the seeds of success were planted in my kill recaps and hatred for Pact & Dominion nightblades. While some PvE players may callously tout Vengeance as a solution, they also want to kill PvP and turn Cyrodiil into a PvE zone.
Cyrodiil had performance problems that ought to have needed a stern address. Vengeance is too heavy handed on it's own.
If the Writhing Wall event goes and transitions through phases smoothly, it'll show that ESO can handle dynamic changing realms and landscapes. To make use of it, Vengeance can be a mode that a specially assigned campaign server procs after it detects too many crashes, or server performance loss. This could happen at peak times with the spawn of Volendrung to unleash mass all out war on in a server designated for all out war.
I pitched the idea of a
Fouth Alliance many years ago and would also like to see it brought to life in the all out war campaign,
Su'um ahrk morah. To summarize the post talks about the addition of a forth Imperial aligned faction that is neutral in scoring, but made up of the best PvPers in the game. The alliances performance shapes Cyrodiil and effects the gameplay of the next campaign. Adding to the idea of it in 2025 I'd say that a no-CP Campaign effect could be triggered if the forth alliance deletes 36% of the total campaign scores. With an even four alliances the scoreboard should be split 25% a piece meaning that a non competing alliance would take out 25% of the other 3 factions scores. 36% would be a overwhelming victory meaning the strongest players could use to loose CP.
An all out war campaign would stand to be unpredictable and volatile.
Now to get to the new bread and butter of he Legion of Ash suggestion.
- New bound unique gear sets, of a better caliber then Infinite Archive sets, that can only be used once you unlock it's Alliance rank.
- Quest that can be completed in any PvP area outside of dueling.
- This adds a new daily quest rotation that's rewards players for the flashiness of their pvp.
- Has a rare chance to give an epic or legendary motif or furnishing plan from anywhere in the game with a rarer chance at a Pvp exclusive furnishing (plan).
- Gives rare curated rune box fragments, which is used in-conjunction with Battlemaster Tokens, Arena Gladiator Proofs, and Siege of Cyrodiil merits to unlock sets.
- A quest for gaining multi kills with three tiers double kill, triple kill, and quad Kill. Greater chance at a set box fragment for quad kills.
- A quest for getting a kill streak with three tiers. 3 kills without dying, 7 kills without dying, 10kills without dying. Greater chance at a set box fragment for 10 kill streak.
- A quest for taking 150k total damage from a player without dying.
- A quest for getting 10 revenges or avenges.
- A quest for healing 5 allies (including self) who are below 10% HP and in combat with another player.
- Super rare chance at a Pvp exclusive house fragment.
- A new personality
- I'd seen a cool idea on the forums for duel wield to store there weapons crossed on their back. This could go here.
Pvp could use fresher revitalized content with an investment grind to keep a player base. The new BGs are nice at times, although teams get shut out a lot.
I also suggested we siege in a
guild vs guild war where we fight for a city guild hall.
In addition to an open world
pvp flag system. Some said it goes against the allure of Elder Scorlls, but past title were known for strong 'random' encounters.
