What's your most played content from the first two years of ESO?

So I came to the realization that this game deserves more PvP content. This has been my thought for years, but it struck me today that Cyrodiil is probably the most popular and reused content of the older year one and year two releases. How many people can be seen in the Gold Coast, Hew's Bane, or Orsinium compared to a full Cyrodiil Server on the weekend? Craglorn trials probably come close, but they force multiple replays for gear progression whereas gear from Cyrodiil can be bought. Undaunted dailies are also year one, but like trials force time for completion and replays for gear. If Pvp had good bound gear locked behind a 30 minute to 3 hour quest there'd be more players stuck doing that content.

I would post this in the Pvp section, but then it wouldn't be a fair survey.
So I'm curious out of these options, whats your most played content?

No worries. I'd seen you're original comment. I had to be careful with the poll questions when it came to quests because not everyone knows what the base game zones are and it might be interpreted as, "How much ESO have you played?" vs the intended "Which year one and year two content have you played the most?" It's not meant to be exclusive to players who played during those two years.

Seeing as the only way to replay those quests is to make another character It's possible to be the most for some, but for this poll just pick the next best option.

Overland questing, delves and public dungeons in the base game zones, Orsinium and the DLC zones (Hew's Bane/Gold Coast).

I never PvP or do dungeons/trials since I hate grouping and I don't care about endgame at all.

You missed the base game zones off the list. That's by far my most played part of the game. I have 9 characters and they all do at least some quests and zone completion.

If you wanted to restrict it to a specific zone then mine would be Glenumbra.

Hours wise it's Cyro, but honestly all content from the first years of the game was really good quality for the time and genre. Having issues previously with some thing that were ironed out eventually not even standing close to how broken and not interesting content got in the last five or so years, it's amazing how quality nose dived that hard, comparatively.

I've played continuously since the launch on PC, and within the limited range of PvE options listed in the poll I'd have to select Orsinium in response to the poll question. I have no interest or involvement in PvP so those options do not apply.

However, that's on the basis that the poll options combined probably represent no more than 1% of my playtime over the last 11 years, with the other 99% involving overland questing, delves, housing and crafting.

An odd poll indeed, and one that doesn't remotely support the OP's claim that "this game deserves more PvP content".

I played through all my faction's zones then went on to complete Cadwell's Silver and Gold, which was no easy task. At that point I quit playing because there were no more solo questing zones. I came back after they introduced One Tamriel.

The Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild were not released until 2016, 2 years after the launch of the game.

I can't really vote for a particular one because for me it changes.

There are weeks when I do a lot of Heists and Black Sacraments, then I stop doing those for a while.

There are weeks when I do a lot of base-game dungeons, then I stop doing those for a while.

There are weeks when I do a lot of district dailies in Imperial City or Tel Var farming in the sewers, then I stop for a while.

There are weeks when I do a lot of missions and fighting in Cyrodiil, then I stop for a while.

Aside from running around any and all zones killing mobs and bosses, doing daily crafting writs, and playing Tales of Tribute, those (above) are the activities I tend to do the most out of the options you've provided.

I generally avoid trials, arenas, and Battlegrounds, although I don't avoid them completely.

Another vote for the missing option 'One of the base game overland zones'. No idea which of those specifically I have technically spent most time in, but it's definitely not the PvP zones, dungeons, trials, arenas, etc.

So the Poll is made to show the longevity, depreciation, and repeatability of year one and two content. While questing and collecting skill points is a big part of making any character there would be an overlap in the poll options, since Cyrodiil and Craglorn are free base game content with zones and quests even if Craglorn was after release.

Also it'd be a skewed poll because it'd be Cyrodiil, Craglorn, and the single released content zones vs a combined 20 other alliance zones.

Battlegrounds and housing are 2017 releases and were not included in the poll.

Some may say that Pvp is a niche part of the game, but it's content is old and has sustained or attracted a sizable player base consistently for years.

Both Cyro and FG1 got me lots of transmutes, not that I enjoyed my grinding time there... Orsinium is probably where I most often choose to return, and not for Maelstrom but just to enjoy the zone.

If you say so, but my recollection is that the PvP population has never been overly happy with the its implementation and has fallen steadily since the beginning.

As for a poll being skewed, asking players what is their most played content from the first two years and then omitting the base game zones is pretty skewed! I logged in earlier today to do the daily and weekly endeavours and, as most if not all days, spent the entire time in base game zones. Doubtless you'll point out that Endeavours weren't present in the first two years which is true, but the base games were and that's where a lot of the Endeavours are most commonly done, every day.

Nonetheless, feel free to try and argue that more PvP is needed because Cyrodiil is more populated at peak weekend times than e.g. the Gold Coast, but perhaps a comparison between global PvP and PvE players would be more relevant.

This poll is skewed towards Cyrodiil by omitting the probably two biggest ways engage in those first couple years of content.

      Base game zone questing

Base game dungeons multiple. Because a lot of people engage in those through the random dungeon finder and leave when a newer dlc pops up. I play all dungeons but there's a not insignificant amount of people who don't.

I chose dark brotherhood mostly because I use the BoW a lot. It's my most used out of these options but I'm more likely using the base game zones than any of these options.

Thieves guild passively, Maw of Lorkhaj is a very well done trial. Many mechs and such that still challenge even somewhat experienced players. It makes the group finder quite bait though, as it only takes one or two people to blow half the group up. Though I can't say that is where I spend the majority of my time. Most of my characters do have thieves guild passives/skill line leveled up as it is too useful.

From the list I am guessing base game dungeons, but TBH none of the above overall. I don't enjoy the games PVP, I don't like to chase people into towers around trees and what not and just cannot take it seriously in its current balance (the last 8+ years). When I go to Cyrodiil it is to PVE or PVD for easy AP. I'm not opposed to new PVP content, I just probably wouldn't enjoy or really engage in it.

From these options I was thinking if I have done more Craglorn apple thieving for Legerdemain or Tempest Island test runs. Nowadays Necrom is a better place to level up Legerdemain so I don't spend so much time there any more. But Tempest Island is my go-to place to test if a solo build works. It's simple, it's quick and I've done it enough times to get a feel if the build is going to work in "real" content. So that would be the place where I still port for a quick test to see if a solo build works.

I do some Cyrodiil every now and then, too. But not enough to say I would be a PVP'er.

I don't understand what the poll is asking. Is it where players spend most time among the early zones. Or is it where players spend most time doing PvP among early zones, which is a completely different question. This isn't clear from your introductory text.

For what it's worth, a fairly recent poll with wide participation on the forums showed that a lot of people, at least in this forum, plain don't play PvP at all (indeed, a significant majority of players). So the difference is important.

To answer, there is no distinction to separate the two questions. It's which choice in content you've played more from year one and two. The answer can be Inclusive or absent of PvP or PvE.

I classify as Pvper not just because it's my most played content, but it's the content I enjoy the most. Thanks to the the old battlegrounds que I probably clocked more time in a random zone waiting for it to start than in a match. Not to mention the hours I've spent in PvE chasing the latest patches gear or grinding gold. But my play time goes into being among the hardest hitters in PvP.
