Gods, we need new animations

Specifically, we need some overhaul to the combat animations. Give us some new stances. For anyone who has been playing this game for a while the same animations are just painfully stale, but I feel like the solutions are already in -game. Dual-Wield, two-hand, etc. already have a handful of animations used by NPCs. Why are we being given these options for use?

    I'd love to have the companion animation for stowing a two handed weapon and I want the old "Flurry" animation back, the current one looks horrible.

      PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester

      I absolutely agree. I also want the old animation for activating Grim Focus back. It was an awesome, arms wide open roar. Give me that and my old stab stab flurry attack back. I hate the new fluffy. Reminds me of the Age of Aquarius music video at the end of 40 Year Old Virgin. Horrible.

      And yes, that two handed sheath move is awesome

      Funnily enough, new combat animations seems to be in test right now on the PTS but the thread talking about them says those will break the game when the next update goes live because they are bad. Looks like new animations got hated by testers...

      (I have no PTS and I have not seen them. Still, I agree with you that we need new animations)

      my main request - besides getting the old templar jabs spear model back - would be hits that are faster and feel more impactful (like 2h melee etc.)

      That's an extreme bummer. I don't have access to PTS either, but at this point I'd take anything changing. I've gotten used to the newer jabs animation and I just don't care anymore. I'm so tired of the combat animations being the exact same handful of things for so long

      I also want the old animation for activating Grim Focus back.

      I love how Grim Focus works permanently now, but the activation move is also the part I miss :( It was great animation for epic screenshots.
      I thought that the cool move was lost forever, but few months ago I've found the place where it can be seen: when you activate synergies during time-limited portals in Vateshran Hollow. Need this cool arms movement as emote or something :)

      Also I totally support the revert to old Flurry and Jabs! Leave new ones as skill style options for those who might like them.

      And yes, NPCs sometimes have stylish ways to stove their two-handers (I've also seen Guards do it after they finish off some unlucky player), this needs to be available as option for our character's move too.

      With skill styles now, it would be great to have variety of combat animations and stances, so that every player could select accordingly to their own taste. Forcing some change to everyone is never okay :/

      Let's not, the Templar community is still made about the new jabs animation and spear model. The only way I'd support new animations is if ZoS allows us to continue to run the old animations but we all know that won't happen so lets leave well enough alone.

      Also the new animations on the PTS are causing issues. We all underestimate who integral animations are to the player experience so if you change something that's been in the game unchanged for 11 years without the ability to revert it, it's a recipe for huge community backlash because it affects everything that one does in the game. Remember the large number of threads about the grim focus permaglow? That was a aesthetic minor change.

      Absolutely, but for the love of Talos make it a PUBLIC poll first so people can choose which look okay and which look stupid, or it will be the Templar jabs deal all over again.

      It's all just needs to be optional imo, there's no way to satisfy everyone and not to leave a lot of people hugely dissatisfied. Meanwhile PTS signs of no hope as already subpar animations getting axed for a "performance" version of them. Remember people called ones we have now jitterish, clunky etc. wonder how it plays out after "updated" ones being rolled out.

      I think the ideal situation would be to not remove any existing animations, but replace them with skill style versions that allow it be changed. I feel that would be a decent middle ground

      Not sure why you are asking the Gods for help. the Gods of Tamriel do not care about us mere mortals. But we do need more animations if only to amuse them.

      I have a huge request, please bring back the old animation of the Templar spear. The new one is very unusual. The Templar used to be my favorite class, but with the new animation the character waves it like a shovel.

      A new skill line like Unarmed, with the martial arts moves that NPCs, use would be awesome. It's kind of a shame the NPCs have cooler animations than the players.
