Dwarven heavy armor crafting looks pretty much the exact same orichalcum to me, which is weird. I don't really mind the color, but they couldn't have distiguished it from Ori?

As I recall, dwarven used to have a very bronze / gold look to it. Why is it suddenly green in this game?

Wait a minute... I seem to remember armor changing color depending on where you craft it. I just crafted mine in the port at Malabal Tor. Any chance you get different results if you craft somewhere else? I doubt it but still a hope.

They used too much copper in the alloy. :o

All joking aside, I'm a little disappointed in the 'transmute' we ended up with, when the promotional material for the Imperial Edition clearly states 'gain new crafting styles', not 'transform your armor to look like this'.

Well you can craft in the Imperial Style. No other race has the transmute option. The "transform your armor to look like this" was an unadvertised bonus. Be happy.

Again I like to state you can still craft in the Imperial Style right of the bat. So you are gaining a new crafting style that is not readily available to people who did not go Imperial Edition.

My Orichalcum Imperial armor started as reddish, but when I improved it to blue level, it had a green tinge identical to the above shots. I simply assumed it was a color change based on quality.

I am hoping this is a texture bug and not the finished actual look of all the armor as all the armor turns green for some reason and I think it looks hideous.

Funny thing is people pay outlandish prices for the high end motifs, when in the long run those expensive styles all come out green? hmmmm something is wrong here.

Its ok compared to my daedric v10 medium armor... light yellowish... that one really makes me puke... thank god for costumes..

This doesnt seem to be a bug its just the upgrading collors.
Cause when your having a normal (white) armor part it looks normal, when upgrading to green it gets a different collor, and upgrading it to blue (rare) then it changed also collor and it seems always to get around greenish collors or even to gold brown (kinda a bit like copper collor but then different) at epic

Now this doesnt do it with all race armor the same like this but they all change in collor.

Wrong.... you are all wrong guys, while Orichalcum is Red-ish ( pretty much like copper) ,Imperial Heavy armor crafted with Dwarven ore is Green, Ebony one is kinda gray-ish and Calcinium is Gray-blue-ish, the style changes too from Dwarven to Ebony ,from Ebony and on, I think it doesnt changes but I think the color does

I find it amazing how many people are posting in this thread without actually reading it, or even looking at the pictures a few folks were kind enough to post up. For those of you saying "you guys don't know what you're talking about, its working as intended! orichalc/dwarven ore is green, so that's why the armor is green, duhhh" you are wrong. YOU are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about, and you should really just go away, considering you have no constructive input. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say a lot of you are American, given the ... level of intelligence and forethought put into your comments.

And to everyone else who has the problem, acknowledges the problem, any progress towards fixing it ? from what I've seen in my own experimentation, it seems like only certain Motifs have this issue, ie: all the "Mer" motifs seem to come out green, regardless of ingots used, or quality of item, and I have occasionally been able to craft armor which is not green, such as Breton. This is truly frustrating, as honestly, It looked kind of neat from levels 1-30 or so, and then it just started getting dull, and annoying ... having the same exact color scheme, alllll the time ...

on a side note, it DOES seem to be character linked to an imperial blacksmith in all cases, yes? I noticed when crafting heavy armor for an alt that it appeared in the normal colors on him, whereas all armor (and weapons) I craft for myself is the same sickly green

That has nothing to do with level of intelligence. You might think before you post stupid comments like this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to be discontent with this green theme.

For me Orcish armor was a dull silver color, similar to steel. While enjoyable 'twas not true to lore, as far as I have experienced with TES games.

However, after the relatively recent 3GB patch, the armor was retextured green. Or so I assumed. I was not initially disgruntled, as this is conducive with the lore.

But now that I've moved on to Dwarven quality arms and armor... it's still green. And bugging me. Trim and leather are appropriate colors though.

But from what I understand of reading the thread, many people have had the same green armor motif, even before the patch. This feels like a bug from the discussion, but the lack of solid neon/black suggests this is the actual design choice, as some suggested. What I know for sure is that a lot of us don't like it.

As the causes that haven't been thoroughly debunked yet are race and class factors, I'll throw mine in for analysis: Breton Templar.

(Sorry for the screenshots not being focused on me; I scrounged around my library for suitable shots and these are what I could muster.)
