I had to buy ESO+ because event will punish you if you don't

I play without ESO+ and I am perfectly fine with the fact, that ESO+ players get a small advantage. The game is free to play (lets see what happens on the 10th) and I don´t see why paying customers shouldn´t get QOL non paying customers don´t get.

Time for bag management is really manageable, if you don´t store every Wyrm Cult motif, blue furnishing plan and Crafting Level 8 material. The Merchant is your best friend if you don´t have ESO+. It honestly doesn´t take me significantly more time than outside of event.

Returned to the game recently after 5 years. I have a good system for management and didn't need eso+.

The advantage of the sub does not become fully apparent until you have experienced this event. I did not realize there was a 3 week event that liberally drops rare style materials/motifs/etc. This lets all the paid players to be fully stocked. The time savings, in not having to use TTC and hunt for mats is worth $15 alone. I don't even know what console players do! The non eso+ players are at a huge disadvantage on console.

A rain barrel doesn't have much utility, until it starts *raining*.

I've played multiple MMOs throughout the years and have never once had an inventory management problem. I just don't keep things I don't have a current use for.

I don't use ESO Plus. My secret is simple. Keep really important mats in the 240 slot bank. Place furniture or get rid of it. Sell everything else.

    Hi. My two cents:

1- Inventory is a huge challenge right now, for those both with and without ESO+, for certain types of players. That would be, at least, a) people who save stuff and b) people who use the newer functionality like the Armory to have lots of builds on one character, which was the apparent encouraged playstyle from AwA until the Anniversary event, when ZOS started encouraging alts again. Certainly if all else is equal, the exact same kinds of players will struggle even more without a sub, but the more you explore all corners of ESO, the more of a problem it is, and even a sub does not offset the pain at this point.

2- Recently, ZOS made a thread asking for our top five bugs and top five pain points. There is an official comment in there acknowledging that they have heard our sentiments about inventory management and hope to take action.

I think the Anniversary event can feel a little worse to those without a craft bag (especially to people who used to sub), because we receive a lot of mats in those fun little boxes, but in my opinion those events where you get tons of treasure you have to constantly vendor are just as annoying, because the craft bag isn't even an option to help. Also I don't think this event was designed to be punishing or manipulative (it used to be one of my favorites although I too am struggling with inventiry now) but rather that ZOS has let inventory strategy get away from them while focusing on other things.

I know the most recent development that has hurt me the most are the mail timers.... especially those short RotW timers. I'm constantly losing my "rewards" because my inventory is too full at the end of a play session and by the time I get to it they are gone. Talk about punishing. 🤣

Anyway, I don't think the experience is intentional and I hope they will address it soon.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Inventory management is an engineered issue (by the company whose game it is) in every loot-collecting game of which I've been aware since the 90s.
And a contingent of every single gaming community has been complaining about it that whole time.
It's nothing new, and it isn't going to change.

That's correct, but it's also an engineered issue by a lot of players who don't exercise any discipline over their inventory management and simply hoard everything regardless. Those players would still end up complaining even if ZOS doubled the inventory, bank, and crate storage limits, or if a base game crafting bag removed all mats from their existing storage, they'd just fill the freed slots with other stuff.

The players who would complain if the crafting bag became part of the base game would be those who have subscribed continuously for it these past many years.

I subbed for extra month for the same reason as op. It was a waste, as everything I'm getting is ordinary, vendored or destroyed.
