Server Downtime Hangout Thread - February 19, 2025

With the servers once again down for maintenance - and in the case of consoles, PATCH maintenance - that means it's time to once again open the unofficial official server downtime hangout thread.

What are the rules? There are three:

1: All content must be kept at a PG-13 rating or below.
2: Memes, gifs, videos, pictures, etc. are all welcome and STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Bonus points if it's ESO-related.
3: There are no other rules. HAVE FUN!

Downtime is good for one thing - planning date night

Since the current Golden Pursuit ends at 10am EST and maintenance is scheduled to end at 12pm EST will we get some extra time to complete it? I’m only 2 categories away from the final piece of the Dibella set. Knowing ZOS probably not. I wonder if it will be back in the future.

Yeah, I wish they would list the events' duration taking maintenance into account. I am aware I could've timed it better, but knowing I needed 10 minutes more with 6 hours remaining on the official event duration, is rather frustrating.

I think procrastination is the problem here. We've had plenty of opportunity to complete this GP since february 6, for 12 days straight.

Now let's get this server downtime hangout party started!

They've said no, they don't have a way to extend it.

well, we are under winter storm warning (and I did try to drive in it but turned around due to road conditions). guess I'll be spending most of my time lurking the forums.

Sorry but exactly this I agree.
They staded that they is not way to extend it because new GP starting the next day.
And sorry for saying but yes, there was a plenty of time to complete this GP.

Tbh I think they planned it as best they could, considering the fact that the mini-event ended yesterday and the next event starts tomorrow. The fact that it came out before the end of the GP is unfortunate, but it's a negligible loss compared to if this maintenance had been during the event and the day and tickets would have been lost.
Because just the fact that when it's maintenance it kicks you out of the game a few minutes after the scheduled start time, but when it's during an event it kicks you out in a few seconds (my own experience when I lost my last tickets)

Why does the maintenance take this long? It will be six oçlock in the evening over here when it ends. If nothing goes wrong that is.

Last maintenance, I finished up my Elsweyr-inspired cushion cover (embroidery was done last year, I just never got around to making an actual thing out of it).

This time I'm struggling with a collar for a shirt I'm making for my daughter. I can not believe I'm having more trouble with a few pieces of fabric, than I had with figuring out an entire pattern from one screenshot, taken in a videogame...

Weren't Golden Pursuits supposed to be rare and exciting? I'm already tired of them. This is directly related to event fatigue and ever increasing amount of FOMO being added to the game.

Just to add some balance, as a console player I'm really looking forward to some of the U45 additions, specifically the green CP tree changes. I change the green CP on my high CP account multiple times per play session. Come on, March!

SAME! I am entirely too excited for the green CP change. I am so tired of switching or the aftermath of forgetting to switch lol

Yep. Now we've had two back to back and there will be a third for Whitestrake's. I've learned to take everything ZOS says when introducing a new feature with a huge grain of salt. It never works out the way they say. Features are introduced with all sorts of promises but then stagnate (companions, for example), or they say "this will be X" and it isn't. "Golden Pursuits will be occasional". Uh-huh. Golden pursuits are already like events - no excitement because they're overused. It would have been nice if seeing "Golden Pursuits" in gold was a nice surprise, but that ship sailed pretty quickly.

To add balance, I'm also looking forward to the change in the green CP tree!

Wasn’t procrastination, I started it as soon as I had the time to. Anyway that sucks but is what it is I guess. Hopefully it will be back at some point
