Would be a nice quality of life feature :)

Disclaimer: I am currently an ESO Plus subscriber, and have been for many years.

I think this idea could be beneficial to ZOS if players knew that ESO Plus gave them priority in queues to Cyrodiil and even other queues to other things like random dungeons, Battlegrounds, and Tales of Tribute matches.

I just don't think the idea of capitalizing on this would go over well with the players, though. I can imagine non-subscribers using this as an example of how "greedy" ZOS is with their monetization.

I personally see it like getting the premium pass to an amusement park — the whole point is to give people invested in the product quicker access to the rides/attractions so they're likely to return and keep spending money.

I don't think that's a good idea. It's too close to p2w, especially in Cyrodiil.

I'm another ESO+ subscriber who thinks this is not a great idea. ESO+ is pretty well balanced as is with benefits. Since ESO is where I spend 95% of my play time, ESO+ is a no brainer for me as far as value. For those who play multiple games though or who play sporadically, I suspect ESO+ does not make sense. Overall, I think ZoS would lose more than they gain. Additionally, I suspect it would split the community and not in a good way.

I'm good with what I get with ESO+ now. No need to alienate others with perks that actually have a negative affect on those that chose not to sub.
Going back to a sub being required would probably be more popular than punishing players for not subbing.

Simply put, Cyrodiil Gray Host should never become population locked without automatically splitting off a new instance of the same zone. This is common practice in other games so that when one instance of a popular game zone becomes population locked another instance will automatically spawn for players to use. I don't see what the problem is about having this.

Clearly it is needed and clearly it is wanted. Players want to play in Cyrodiil Gray Host. That's where the action is!

We have other Cyrodiil zones with unfilled population bars and virtually no players whatsoever in them. Yet, we have the Gray Host instance which people are clamoring to get into, but instead they find queues of half an hour or more. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

So, how about having Cyrodiil Gray Host (2) automatically spawn... OR, perhaps it should be created permanently in the next update to relieve the population problem.

I have ESO+ and I don't like this idea. Perhaps doing something so the servers can handle higher populations in Cyrodiil would be far more desirable. Or spinning off a PVE-only Cyrodiil for the questers so only people who actually wanted to PvP would get into the campaigns.

The only queue that I'd support ESO+ subscribers getting priority for is the game login queue. It would be pretty annoying if I couldn't play a game I pay a subscription for because I'm in line behind non-subscribers. But that's it.

Fortunately I rarely see a login queue, and when I do, it's usually because there's some problem going on with the game so nobody is getting in.

Um, no, this would not work. Think of when it comes time for guild raid and only have the guild can get into the same instance for raid group.

They just need to fix Cyrodiil performance. We know they can if they just prioritize the effort. They've done it before, so they could do it again. It's about time for another hardware replacement/upgrade at the data center anyway, and last time they did that performance radically improved.

    Nope. Should never happen.
Imagine how enraged non-subscriber would become if theirs (already too long) queue time significantly increases.

No, I only sub sometimes when I need that craftbag or housing space, otherwise I own all chapters and DLCs, why would an ESO Plus member have priority over anyone else? It's not a free game so everyone payed for it one way or another.

I think it's a bad idea to make players pay a subscription to get over problems of ZOS's own creation with the game's infrastructure. It just leaves a nasty taste in the mouth (and I'm a plus subscriber). It also creates a financial incentive never to fix it(!!).

On a serious note though... there shouldn't be a queue for cyro. I understand the WHY there is one but fingers crossed they are able to make the fixes they want and then increase pop back to the good ol' days.

So non-ESO+ subscribers will see their queue position literally drop? Like, they will be at 34 in queue, then some ESO+ subscribers will queue and they will drop to 46 or something? Then get back up to like 30 or something and abruptly drop to 38 or something if more ESO+ subscribers queue? That just sounds cruel. I am an ESO+ subscriber, but this sounds like a bad idea.

I think that Cyrodiil queueing should be fair for all, but when they have trial weekends and the servers are overloaded to the point you can't log in, they should prioritize those who already have the copy of the game.

No. I don't think this would necessarily be great for the game IMO.

What I would like to see, though, is players who have had the campaign homed for longer than 1 month to get priority in the campaign que. Let the people who have shown commitment and dedication to playing in a particular campaign regularly have priority over others who constantly flip flop campaigns or who only dabble in pvp for events. Let those who are only logging into cyrodil to play the event play the event funnel into the event servers where there are less hardcore pvp players anyways.

The game is BUY TO PLAY.

Cyrodiil is a BASE GAME feature.

No, absolutely not. ESO+ players paid the exact same amount as non+ players to access Cyrodiil and should not get any sort of advantage.

Lowkey I wouldn’t mind eso+ priority in dungeons with the idea that it’d make DLC more likely in random vet. But I also queue tank or queue with a tank 99% of the time so it doesn’t really matter to me. That said, yeah, it would not go over well and we do NOT need more unpopular decisions, we need more popular decisions or else the game is going to finish its collapse.

I feel like this would ensure that non-subscribers would never get in during Midyear Mayhem. Seems problematic, to me.

The way Cyrodiil campaigns work is that each specific campaign is one single instance, otherwise the players who queue for that campaign could not compete against each other as intended.

The overland map cannot even be divided up into three instances based on each faction's "native" territory as demarcated by the impassable terrain, the milegates, the bridges, and the additional "connecting passages" which are still usable even when the milegates and bridges have been destroyed.

The delves and Cheesemonger's Hollow are their own separate instances, so entering them temporarily removes you from the campaign's instance, which is why exiting back to overland can sometimes be problematic if the campaign is full and you are unable to rejoin the campaign's instance without timing out.

So, as attractive as dynamically adding or deleting additional instances as needed for each campaign might look on paper, it would never work in real life. They can add more campaigns for events such as Mayhem, but those are separate campaigns having no connection to the permanent campaigns as far as scoring. Players who are invested in a given canpaign as far as their scores in that campaign generally do not like having to temporarily play in one of the other campaigns and having their AP gains count toward that other campaign rather than toward their preferred campaign.
