This is the official feedback thread for the new map improvements. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Please use the Map as you normally would during gameplay. Do you find the improvements here create a better experience than the previous map?
  • Please explore the filters and leave feedback on any of the following:
    • Quest location on the Tamriel & Aurbis views
    • Zone names on the Tamriel view (at specific zoom levels)
    • Zone names on wayshrine hover
    • Priority Wayshrines on the Tamriel map.
  • Do the map improvements help your navigation?
  • Are there any issues that come up from these changes in the exploration process?
  • Are there any additional improvements not noted here that you would like to see in the future?
  • Provide any additional feedback.

Since there were no other UI related feedback threads:

The BGs queue UI should list the 8v8 solo first, not the 4v4 competitive, so that casual PvPers clicking on the default option land in the best environment for casual PvP (not the worst environment). That's all, please pass on, thanks!

The only thing I would change about the new map UI, is making owned homes visible on the world map.

As someone who does a lot of housing, I often travel to homes from the world map. It's good that the wayshrines are gone, but the owned houses should definitely stay IMO.

In the patch notes it mentions that favorited/primary homes will show up on the map, was that feature not working for you?

It was not working when I purchased Castle Skingrad. Must be a bug then :,)

I want an option to disable this new map style and have things be the way they were.

This is much like how Microsoft forced grouped taskbar buttons in Windows 11. It made things look "cleaner", but for veteran power users, we don't care about such superficial "cleaniness"; we want to access the specific window that we want with a single click instead of a click, mouse reposition, and second click as we were forced to when Windows 11 removed that option. Same thing here with the new map.

It's fine to have these "clean" options as the default, because I recognize that it's probably the better default experience for the greatest number of people, but it's a huge usability regression for me.

    PTS Patch Notes v10.3.0
The Tamriel view of the map will now only show one Wayshrine per zone.
It should show every Capital city, town, and hub that has a Wayshrine within a Sub-Zoned area. For example the Wayshrines for the Sub-Zones of Davon's Watch, Ebonheart, and Kragenmoor in the Stonefalls Zone should all three optionally show on the Tamriel view of the map.
The Tamriel view of the map will now only show favorited and primary homes. You may still favorite as many homes as you’d like.
No, Favoites are limited to a universal 100 Collections shared account wide (which is already absurd and should be changed to a per character limit).
Dungeons and Trials will no longer be shown by default on the Tamriel view of the map, but can still be toggled on.
Okay, if Dungeons and Trials can be toggled on for the Tamriel Map then Player Homes need a toggle.

I do not see why yall are adding more things AddOns have been doing for years still in the same patch cycle announcing Addon support is coming to consoles, but if yall are then do it right. Anything without options and toggles will be wrong. The more the options, toggles, customizations, higher caps on Binds and Favorites - the better.

This is my current map: Capital Wayshrines and Houses

I love it. Makes the UI much cleaner, less clutter. I can finally click on Galen!

Console player here so I don't have access to the PTS.
I've just seen the message about the new map and it look like it'll be terrible for me. I zoom in from the Aurbis and click the wayshrine/dungeon/arena/house I need to visit and off I go.
Having to essentially click on a zone then select a wayshrine will take longer and be as annoying as navigating Galen from elsewhere is now. That's not an improvement!

As long as we can toggle this I'll be happy.

Not sure where to add this feedback, but can we please make primary residence slot able to the quick select wheel?

I'm experiencing a persistent bug in the test server, with and without addons, that's describable as a failure to zoom out, or a failure to swap the visible map from the present location to the next level up, while still providing hover-over highlight of various zones.

Pictured, hovering over and highlighting the entire zone of West Weald, now nestled within Blackwood.

The zone label at the top left of the screen shows Tamriel. The visible map shows Blackwood.

ABSOLUTELY THIS. Why force me to do in 3 clicks what I could in 1 click before??? And this EVERY TIME I want to travel??? Come on guys, you know better than that. Sure, make your new shiny thing default but allow us who've been used to go fast for 10 YEARS to continue to do it like we prefer.

    Seriously. This sucks very bad.

Rather than favoriting why not just a toggle to show all or just favorites or one home in each zone, satisfies both sides of the fence.
