I dont usually rant on here but after seeing the q1 event my eyes rolled so hard I could see my brain.

so I fed a roll of toilet paper into my typewriter and typed away and got this:

you want people to return to the game but yet you roll out the same crappy rewards. where's the fun and excitement in getting 5 Jora from an event box?

and don't get started on yet anotherrrrrr style page, to add to the hundreds I've
already got to use on 20 toons. which by the way are cp2000 with rookie cp160 gear?

I already have more reindeer than Santa, so yet another indrik doesn't make me burst with excitement to get those event tickets

sorry

Imo the main appeal of this event is not the boxes. They said something about curated fish and boosted lead drops from treasure maps, those are very interesting and unique boons.
I am still missing many leads that are locked behind treasure maps (I'm looking at you, abyssal well!) and I'd be happy to complete those antiquities. Idk if I can bring myself to do the fishing achieves, though. Lol.

I personally think that events that allow infinite box farming such as Zenithar's are not that great for the game. They crash the economy and make players feel burned out because many of them feel that they have to farm these boxes every day instead of doing something they actually enjoy. I think the main rewards should be in the first box of the day, so that everyone can benefit from the event without making it overly grindy.

I definitely agree that their events are completely dry as is. I’m hoping with the big Changeup coming in 2025 that we’ll see a re-structure to events. The whole 2-3 event tickets per day for meh style pages and sparse crafting rewards doesn’t draw people in.

There needs to be exciting stuff, new boss encounters and group activities + solo activities and not the same stuff. Like the previous comment, the only thing in the event that’s worth it is the “other” stuff like completing master angler easier if you haven’t yet.

They’re just WAY WAY WAY too formulaic and unimaginative currently :(

Agree that events need a revamp. The rewards are the same (how many styles do we need?), the quests are the same. They did add something new to the Witches Festival, but the entire structure needs a shake up.

Pts. They usually test these event months in advance.

Thanks. I can't do pts (not enough data) so I forget they put them up for testing.

Ah, I see. The replica styles will return. I hope this time I won't spend over 20 hours running dolmens without getting the drop.

I am actually excited for this, as someone who has only been here for about a year. Sounds like I might be able to get a lot of the things I missed!

It looks like you might be able to buy them directly, as well as farming the activity.

I agree. Most events are a non event for me at this point. I do enough for tickets and go about my business. The passive bonuses are fantastic though, especially experience.

Said it before, will say again. I love that I can ignore so many events in ESO. I tried a few of those Korean MMOs a few years back that needed you to farm the heck out of every event to keep up power wise. With ESO events I can usually do a quest a day, and that's that. Heck, even the event ticket rewards aren't anything too special. Honestly, who's getting FOMO about the 2024 personality? Or the Coldharbor tattoos? Or 2023's Diabella American Football bear. I've never seen anyone use them outside of the initial release. I can engage as little or as much as I want. Super awesome. Keep them like they are please ZoS!

Really?! I wish that would have been possible the first time. I had been lucky with Trueflame, but killing bosses for 10 hours to get Sunna'rah wasn't exactly fun (and running dolmens without even getting the drop even less - and then the event was over, couldn't even try to get the other ones; well, got the ones that interested me most for roleplay reasons, at least).

Yeah, a bit further down it mentioned that the replicas can be bought from the Impressario for 10 tickets each (if I am remembering right). A bit pricey, considering all the other things I would want, but depending on how long the event is going to last, might be worth it if you need one or two (I think I managed to get all but like one, and I am not sure I want that one.)

    Really?

This is the kind of catch-up thing people have been asking for, it's a brand new event, and honestly it's what the anniversary should have been, and it's "the same crap?"

It sounds like you want time-restricted quests and content. And that is something that the ESO playerbase is very against (ask anyone here how they feel about FOMO). In fact, the only thing that ZOS has confirmed about the upcoming seasons is that the content added will not evaporate once the season has finished, which does tend to happen in games with a season pass model.

You do you, of course, but to complain about this event when it is exactly what players have been asking for for a while now, and hasn't even been announced outside of PTS, let alone hasn't happened yet is certainly a choice.

Thanks for the link! I play on PS/NA on PS5, so testing on PTS is not an option for me.

I do not have all of the collectibles listed, even though I have played for several years. Gives me a chance to "catch up", and I see that "motif leads" can be sold to other players, so folks who already have "everything" can still make gold off of the event.

Sounds good! Looking forward to this event, ZOS!

I don't think events will ever be really fun - but they usually are valuable.

I'm interested by curated drops they announced for this event, and thus I have interest in this event. But I don't expect it to be fun, and I don't expect any event will ever be fun.

I'm not pessimistic, at least I don't think so, but I highly doubt a fun event will ever be designed - fun in the sense that it would propose something engaging, not based on doing ordinary stuff, not based on farming, enjoyable - especially in the long term. And this is mostly why this would almost never happen : designing something like that take time and / or ressources, wich are most likely scarce when you're continuously developping a game such as a mmo.

Anyway, enjoy that there is to be enjoyed, and if you don't - move on.

The event looks great. This is going to be an amazing event for fishers, an amazing event to use treasure maps, and great to get a bunch of old rewards.

What I find the problem here is that this allows you to get loads of previous rewards, but then it still only rewards you a fixed amount of tickets per day (3). This means you can barely buy any of the previous rewards.

I have the same problem with the indriks with all these events. I occasionally skip an event because I am busy or don't feel like it, and I end up almost never being able to buy old rewards if I also want to get the current ones. Spending extra time you might have during one event won't even help you. Only spending money on event tickets (which I refuse to do).

Just finished reading the article, and I have to agree. My first impression was "cool, lots of options", since I wasn't playing yet when some of the zone rewards were available. Then I realized I'll need to end the current event with 12 tickets, and create an excel sheet to see what is and isn't possible... Looks like the content creators will be busy making event guides. :)

Hahaha. This cracked me up. I will say though that personally I love the indriks so much and I want more, more, more!! But to each their own, for sure.

I very much wish they would raise or remove the ticket limit. I get why it is there, but micro-managing it is very annoying. It would be nice if we could transition to a long term view of the tickets, whereas it's acceptable or even encouraged to save your tickets for another event. For example, many people loudly about the Midyear Mayhem event. If people could bank their tickets, and buy the available rewards without PvPing, those complaints would become invalid. (Btw I love the event and PvP, for the record.)
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Agree! I get the outfit style fatigue and everything but I think it's cool that vendors in different areas will have different things. I'm happy to finally get some stuff I missed in prior years, like the Voriplasm pet!
