I think its ridicules.. hey pay for this game that costs 49.99 and you get 30 days access.. actually ..we just want you to pay an extra 8.99 more to subscribe. Like the game wasn't expensive enough. I know and most people know its pay to play even though it seems a bit rubbish considering how successful and awesome GW2 was as a non monthly fee MMO and they were constantly putting new things into it. Its not even that, I don't understand why you cant just play for the first month.. if its that good then of course you are going to pay the subscription, its just so money grabbing.
Between my gf and I we have received 5 cut and paste generic responses that are just reiteration of their FAQ:
"All Early Access customers were granted an extended grace period until Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8AM EDT/2PM CEST/1PM BST before they are required to transition their account to live. This also covered online retail customers who didn't get their boxes shipped in time and gave digital customers more Early Access time."
Lacking effort is what this is looking like. With so many effected people out there getting more irritated by the hour, you would think a response to our concerns would be appropriate.
And yes, why extend the "Grace Period" (which was not a new idea and was thought up in February) to Sunday? That's more than useless. I'm in Canada, its decently wide much like the US and things don't travel 3000+ miles in a day.
If the physical item has been shipped already then you just have to wait.... if you choose one day shipping or whatever it doesn't mean you're guarantee to receive your order the next day or so
Although if the shipping is taking way too long then I suggest asking for a refund on the shipping fee if there is one...
I was guaranteed delivery on the 4th as well but was told by GameStop that they didn't receive anything to ship until the 4th. I won't receive it until the 9th! So I paid $100 (which they were more than happy to take on the 4th) just to be locked out of playing my game for several of the early days of the game. This is unacceptable!
I take back my suggestion about extending the grace period. Looking at all the issues people are having, this game needs to be treated as beta. Give everyone a month of game time and we'll gave you a month to beta test your game. Apparently, the beta weekends were not nearly enough.
