I get to listen to my friends level up and leave me in the dust as I wait for my CE to come. A lot can happen from now until April 9th.

I cannot play or setup a sub plan simply because I ordered a physical copy and am waiting for it in the mail, this is absolutely terrible, even tho I already redeemed my early access code and was playing. I love this game but zenimax has some of the worst costumer service and way of handling things in an mmo I have seen in a very long time. I am just completely at a loss while I sit here and wait, and zenimax laughs at me cause I paid extra for imperial...

I'm basically paying $108 (Imperial Edition + Netflix) to watch Dexter for 4 days. It's a good show, but I don't know if it's THAT good.....well okay it is.

You aren't a customer. You made the unfortunate decision to use one of ZOS's ENDORSED shipping partners to receive a physical copy of the game, and as far as I can tell, that has made ZOS very angry with you and me both. Makes you wonder why a company that isn't willing to stand behind the delivery of their physical product even bothered to produce such a product in the first place...

Please forgive me Zenimax! I'm sorry for attempting to provide your game with maximum support by purchasing the most expensive edition that you do not sell directly!

Is there no official word on this? mine wont arrive till Monday "by end of day" , I don't see how stressing out your customers is good for business. The grace period was far to short and needs to be extended.

They did update the welcome screen message. Just sticking it to everyone who ordered a physical copy.

Agreed! We have the Early Access code tied to our account, so we clearly have the game, why kick us out? I preordered on EBGames and the tracking code they sent me shows that expected delivery is April 8th.
Just wanted to point out that Zenimax cannot determine who has actually purchased a retail edition just from having an early access code redeemed on an account. Anyone could pre-order, receive the early access code and then cancel the pre-order. When the early access code is redeemed Zenimax have no way of knowing whether anyone has cancelled the pre-order or not.

Having said that, I certainly agree that extending the early access to the Sunday morning after launch was a very poor decision by Zenimax. I'm pretty certain that no-one anywhere in the world receives a delivery on a Sunday (excepting certain holidays such as Christmas)! It would have made much more sense to extend the grace period to the Monday after launch, especially when the game launched on a Friday (another poor decision by Zenimax imho).

Yes, but giving someone a couple day of free game play who hasn't purchase the game is better than locking out someone who has paid for the game. This would also increase the likelihood that those who did not actually purchase the game will purchase the game.

This is simply a silly decision/indecision by Zenimax.

To make matters worse for me, while I am sitting here locked out of the game (with plenty of free time to spew vitriol all over the forums) my sooper dooper speshul edition box has been sitting in a UPS depot about a mile from here since 4:30 am yesterday morning.

On a more optimistic note, I'm holding a launch party for all the ZOS employees. Free beer, women (or men) and bags full of money for everyone in attendance. It's being held deep inside the securely locked UPS shipping depot near my home on a Sunday afternoon when NOBODY IS THERE.

For a gaming company allegedly staffed by industry veterans, this launch sure looks like a bad episode of the Three Stooges meets the Keystone Kops.

Sad truth is that Zenimax is pretty happy with that situation. My father works in mondial delivery and tells me that Companies prefer progressive connections than all customers connected at the the same time. Just look forum, they cant handle current number of customers. We are just not a priority for them.
  • christian.griffinb16_ESO
Wait wait wait wait - they only give you FORTY-EIGHT hours until after release to activate your account? Are you flippin' serious? That's the most *** piece of idiotic game design I've ever heard of.
  • brodieradiob14_ESO
Why there's a grace period at all is stupid. You should be able to put in the code whenever you get a chance. I'm fairly sure I won't be continuing my sub after all this ***. Not until Zenimax is under some new management, anyway.

This theory sounds, well, sound. I'm not surprised and I have no doubt that it is at least partially true. Don't you guys think if they cared at all that they would have done something by now? At the very least, made some sort of concession for those who are in trouble....

I don't think lag or connections have been an issue. It seems to me like they're just making really stupid decisions that are causing all this rage. They're not even game play related.

Stupidly inadequate grace period with no leeway or consideration for Collector's Edition buyers.
Payment authorization to even play the 30 day trial
Having server maintenance during EU peak times.
Slow and lack of Customer Service (or straight up insulting service)

Everything else is understandable - we expect bugs and other game issues.

The delay in the delivery of the game as nothing to do with Zenimax - it falls in the hand of the retailer who has failed to deliver for the contract/agreement you signed for when purchasing the item from their store
