Mount speed seem slow to you?

I know we've discussed this before, but I captured it now, and I really still feel that my mount speed has been slow for some time now. At least compared to what it used to be. So am I crazy, or did something happen here. I'm on Xbox X. My left thumb is jammed down on the trigger making it go and it just doesn't seem to. I get caught by enemies like I'm some newbie. I have Continuous Attack and Steed's Blessing. I know I don't have gifted rider, but on some of my toons I do and it still just doesn't seem fast. Let me know if I'm crazy. :)

I've uploaded a video on youtube, hope that's allowed. Just to see.

They changed how fast the mounts legs move, so their legs move slower but you should be covering the same distance in the same time. It took me a while to get used to as the stride length and speed of stride doesn't feel like it matches the speed the environment goes past

The animation speed of mounts has been slowed so they don't look like they're constantly zooming, especially with the Major Gallop buff; actual mount behaviour hasn't changed.

That being said, your concern is valid. Animations have a massive effect on how games feel, and players can perform better or worse simply based on those visuals, even when the underlying mechanic is the same.

At least the animations are still fast enough that any sliding is not easily perceivable.

I still can't get used to slower legs movements of mounts when sprinting :'(
It was lot of fun to ride them like that; I especially loved to sprint on Canine and Heavy-weights! And feline mounts had interesting sprint gait which made me feel like flying (at certain higher camera angles) - as if the senche never really touches the ground and glides over it...

Now all mounts sprint like they are in slow motion :/ I no longer enjoy riding over long distances, it just feels weird.

It was totally unwanted change for me; instead, there should have been a fix to movement so horses/indriks/guar don't slow down after jumping/falling.

I am aware of the change, but like OP it feels like my mounts are moving slower than usual, but only sometimes. Not all of the time. Not sure what the cause is.

I don't mount enough to have a clue.... I harvest every node on every girl I'm playing no matter what I'm doing - and the whole mount/dismount/remount cycle between nodes is just plain annoying, so I don't do it.

It's not just the animation of the legs moving slower, because sometimes, in some maps, they do move a faster, and in some other maps they move slower.

If you ask me, there's something wrong here, kind of bug or so.

After 10 years of being used to a certain animation speed, I find myself constantly repressing shift to make sure it’s on. It’s annoying.

Yeah, even after I posted this yesterday, I went into West Weald, and seemed waaaaay slower. I've said this before in other posts, that just like getting stuck all of the time, there is something to each of the newer DLCs.

I feel like mounts were a lot faster years ago.
I'm too lazy to have done any research that'll prove it, but I have a strong feeling, and a fast google shows people have complained about mount speed nerfs many many times.

I know the speed is the same, but why do the Dwemer spider mounts seem so much faster than anything else?

Yes -- I have also noticed that certain mounts animation seems faster than others, so I switched from my normal Auroran Warhorse mount which "feels slow" to Titanborn's Revelry Wolf which "seems faster."

I should test some others like the Nix-Ox Fabricant, for example, to see if the animation (the actual speed of mounts should all be the same based on your riding skills) seems slower or faster. I always use Major Gallop and Gifted Rider.

Mounts feel super slow when playing an alt. I hate feeding my horses.
