I hope we get a high elf female as a companion soon

I've been waiting for a high elf female to have as a companion. I hope ZOS won't keep me waiting too long. I don't care for most of the companions. I have Bastian, Isabel and Sharp. Bastian is the only one that I feel is a good mate for my main character who is an Altmer female. Personally, I want an Altmer female for one of my male characters to have as a companion. Don't keep me waiting too long, please.

We get a female altmer companion with update 44. That wont be a women altmer but a non-binary altmer if that detail is of any importance to you.

No, I'm serious. My two main characters are high elf females. I have a third that I made recently. I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with playing them and not having a companion for however many more years. Also, a Redguard female when?!

Depending on her personnality, quest and dialog, you might be able to just ignore it anyway. This is a video game character, she wont be hurt by it.

So you might be able to play with her as a women altmer.
Do not do that with real person though.

    Ok, ZOS will deliver:
    - old, slightly wrinkly
    - grey short hair
    - friendly grandma type :)

Which I would prefer over Eveli as a travel companion anytime. Romance is out of question, though - in both cases.

This. They’re not real. No one will know (and thus not care) if you just want to headcanon them as a woman if it makes you happy. I could headcanon Mirri as having the name Irrim and headcanon Bastion as a werewolf and no one would know.

We can headcanon everything. I could also headcanon my main to be married to Sotha Sil. Depending on how much it goes against what we get presented on screen, it might get quite complicated to stick to the headcanon, though.
Also, I'm too busy headcanoning away stupid dialogues already.

The dialogue and personality will be extreme. How do I know? This is a fantasy game, all the dialogue and personalities are extreme. A story that doesn't stand out is forgot, the writers of this game want the stories to be remembered. Personally, I only pay attention to about 30% of the story.

I’ve unironically seen several people with OCs married to Sotha Sil, so funny you mention that. I feel your pain with the dialogues though… I feel the same way about the past several years of Chapters.

I think Sotha Sil is one of the best-written characters of the whole game. I'm too "strict" with myself roleplay-wise, though, so I see that he would certainly have better things to do than to marry my main. Or marry anyone at all, to be precise. It wouldn't fit the idea I have of him character-wise, either.

"Extreme" isn't always better. In character writing, "extreme" usually leads to comic-like, cliché characters. Which might fit into a cliché, comic-like game, but I had a different impression of ESO, initially.

I also feel you with the dialogue. After the 80th time someone has explained to me what they just told me to do, I just picture the NPCs looking at my character like 'is he *really* this stupid? Are we absolutely *sure* he is the one who did all the stuff attributed to him?'

I sometimes pretend my character asks stupid questions on purpose to anger other people :D

But usually, I just word them differently. That could already improve things a lot, in many cases. Of course not when it comes to endless repetitions, but if it's lore bits, then it often works.

Actually ZOS could avoid the problems this causes so easily by just rewording. A Dunmer character could just ask "What do you know about Azura?" instead of "Who is Azura?", for example. Or just let our player character's reply contain the info a player unfamiliar with lore might have: Npc talks about Azura - our reply: "So you think that Azura, the Daedric Prince of Dawn and Dusk, (include as much info as neccessary here), is behind this?" It could be so easy and avoid lots of cringe ("What is a Dunmer? What is Morrowind? What is Vvardenfell? What's the Tribunal? Who is Vivec? What are the Great Houses? What's a Telvanni?" - Sarayn Andrethi of Tel Galen, Sadrith Mora, Vvardenfell, Master Wizard of Great House Telvanni)...
I wish I could headcanon a better hairstyle on this character.

But it's blue! And asymmetrical! Fancy! Dynamic!

Since the term female applies to roughly half the individuals of every single species of plant and animal on Nirn, I find the term far too generic to be useful.

Of course the term woman is problematic as well. Does it apply only to humans in a land of humans, mer and tailed folk?

My wood elf tends to think of herself as mermaid. ;)

Etymologically, "woman" literally means "female man (man = person, as in human, mankind,...)".
Can mer and betmer be men? If not, it should be "womer" and "wobetmer" :p
So OP wants an Altmer womer as a companion, obviously.

Apart from their quests, the companions don't really have a lot of dialogue, so I think anyone who wants to headcanon a companion differently than what ZOS had in mind just has to grin and bear it during the quest dialogues. After that, any headcanon should work, providing it's not absurd (like headcanoning Azandur as a handsome 25 year old).

Knowing ZOS, when we get a female/woman Redguard, she'll be pushing 50 too. I mean, if you're a 50+ gamer and want a companion closer to your age, more power to you. But most of us are probably hoping for younger companions.

How can you say that the new companion is female if they is non-binary? So not a male and not a female. Or am I missing something?
