Main Story Quest "Messages across Tamriel" Bugged!

✭Here is the thing if you complete the main quest in reapers march you get the quest that way and then it wont bug out.
This proved true for me. Of course, it took four hours to complete the SW beacon for Motes in the Moonlight, but once that got done, everything went smoothly and Ayrenn gave me the Messages quest once the new Mane had been crowned.
One oddity -- she tells you to go to Elden Root to meet Vanus. The quest text says meet Raz in Skywatch, but her voiceover says Elden Root. Indeed, Vanus is in ER and noninteractable. That caused some stress until I noticed the quest text, headed to Skywatch and was sent on my way to Stirk and Coldharbour.

I completed everything in reapers march, not fixed. All npcs said to talk to vanus in skywatch, raz was at the crowning. Vanus nowhere to be found in skywatch.0 -
Lawoos✭Can someone from Zenimax respond here? What is up with this. Are you manually helping people? From the support tickets it doesn't seem like it. I assume we are getting compensation/days added. Haven't even progressed through half the game and we are blocked from going further. Watching friends progress without you.
Please tell us what we are suppose to do to be able to progress. Telling us to patiently wait untill it's fixed, and without compensation is not okay at all.1 -

You need to be patient, it needs a client side patch. Make sure you have an email ticket logged - when it is fixed, please request gametime back. CSR can add gametime to your account to act as goodwill gesture.1 -
iamgusi✭guys, i figured it out... you need to jump from the pillar, adjacently left to the gate (as in, 90 degrees to the left, NOT directly at it) and then turn your mouse to it in the air. i got it first try using this method as it has a very long window where you are able to press the ''use'' button.
so it's still a bug, but in essence only needs one death to rectify it

2-Start by taking the "The Army of Meridia" quest, LOCATION bit.ly/Qs9Wl2
3-Finish all the quests now, they are quite many. (to finish "The Army of Meridia" you 'll need to finish another quest you acquire through the process, leading you to another, after you finish it you'll have to finish all the other quests up to the last lvl 50 one
4-When you finish all the quests you will acquire the lvl 50 Main Quest
Here you can see that i have the lvl 43 bugged + lvl 50 main quest
p.s (The Final Assault) quest is also bugged, @iamgusi mentioned the fix above1 -

this would be great and gave me hope BUT now the Final assault is bugged and blocks your progress. God dam this game for being so awesome and yet so broken at the same time

Same issue here...
NPC doesn't spawn properly, and there is no indication on the map of where he is (or should be).
Been everywhere and now not sure where I originally had to find him.
Because it's the main storyline, the quest can't be reset.0 -
Sharon✭OK after 2 hours of jumping and failing naked....I got through the final assult by grouping with a guildy... he was able to do the jump/exploit to work around the bug and then because he got through.... it unlocked the door for me to go through. I couldn't interact with any of the npcs that he could so i waited till he had got through the main part and came out the other side to get his reward and I traveled to player through group. It then unlocked the quest for me like i had done it. We then faced the end boss solo which for me bugged out again and spawned so many dragons I couldn't even see through them so i ran down the stairs and the adds bugged out and stayed up the top. I then kited the boss around the stair well and i killed him with 5minutes to spare before server downtime! PHEW!!! *wipes sweat from brow* I AM SO GLAD TO BE DONE WITH THIS BROKEN QUEST!!! they hopefully will fix this in this down time *fingers crossed* for those still stuck.Edited by Sharon on April 18, 2014 12:13PM0

I'm level 47 now and really can't do much but craft and pvp.

cptkmSoul ShrivenI am too totally progress blocked thanks to this quest, VR1 and cant level anymore thanks to this. Made many tickets about this, and still progress blocked.
I expect game time refund from the 6 of April until they solve this.

just invite a friend or find anyone in cold harbor and port to him... then go to mid bottom on the map and talk to codwell (or cadwell? NPC) this quest Message across tamriel leads to this NPC cadwell)Edited by Bopy on April 18, 2014 6:37PM1 -

Zythos✭✭After patch and reset my quest still reads, "Talk to Vanus Galerion." He is no where to be found in Davon's Watch, Ebonheart or Mournhold. When pressing "Show on Map," it just shows Stirk, which I have no way to get to. I've gone to the spot in Mournhold that friends have told me he interacts with a NPC, but nothing is there.Dunmer Dragonknight - Wabbajack0 -

i had already travelled to coldharbour mid-30 with a random travel to player and got a quest there.
I couldnt find him at first so i went to Coldharbour and use the South Portal, ended up in Mournhold Fighters Guild .. no Vanus in sight .. Asking around a player told me he was seeing him (in his phase) at the Mages Guild ..
After checking some threads i went to Ebonheart and he was there but not reactable.
i abandoned the few quests i had in coldharbour before trying (from gatekeeper /and or Cadwell, cant remenber) .done all Guild quests and The Rift zone quests
... trying the language change ...

Language Change DID WORK for me!
i did change to French.. downloaded all (it may not be required)

My character is also stuck on this quest (as is the case for many other quests) but unfortunately I cannot skip it. I am 50 now and stuck with nothing to do.
I hope we get a refund for this down time. I'm sure they would cancel my game sub if I didn't pay, so I should get time back for when the game was unplayable, right? What do you guys think?0
