It's cool the first couple times around. But as more and more people are using it, it's getting rather annoying. It's like dolmens are popping every 2 minutes sometimes.

    Just my opinion.

Agreed. I hate the sound of it. It’s obnoxious.

I just can’t think of why any of my characters would be given or develop the ability to recall using a mini dark anchor. I guess if I had a character that was high in the ranks of Molag Bal’s minions, but that’s just so ten years ago.

I wouldn’t buy a custom animation but I have to admit when I saw someone using it I really thought it was cool. Better than the other ones by far.

It’s not as flashy as the one with the white light shooting up, forget what that one is called.

Interestingly quite a few people actually like to dress up as ultimate villains or daedric minions. Just check how many have the mean looking mounts.

A lot of the DLC motifs are associated with the dress of the villains of that DLC and people farm it like crazy.

There is apparantly a strong appeal for the dark side and consequently a market for such items.

The Legionnaire's Recall is excellent, but when I previewed the Coldharbour Recall, I HAD to have it and didn't mind spending the 8,000 crowns to get it plus the 25 crates. Was worth it. Got a bunch of cool stuff including the Companion Revelry armor.

I got this bundle as well, and got lucky and pulled the Molag Bal polymorph. I was kind of disappointed that it has no special glowy or sparkly special effects... it's basically a moving miniature statue of Bal. However, if you equip it while previewing the titan mount, you can see the daedric anchor effect when mounting up, which you can't see while previewing in regular form.

It's a pretty startling effect, and I'm not interested in buying the titan mount with crowns to look like a Molag Bal fanboi. But I found it to be an interesting marketing concept. Buy/acquire two separate expensive items to combine them into a third exclusive effect. I wonder if this will be the standard going forward. Adding an extra layer of exclusivity to chase.

    RIP Bosmer Nation. 4/4/14 - 2/25/19.

I totally missed the announcement about this, so I didn't know what was making the dark anchor sounds in locations that are nowhere near a dolmen. I haven't even seen it in action yet.

To everyone who hates it, I'm going to sheepishly offer myself up as the scapegoat for it:

I may have to get the bundle just so I'll have this customized recall. It's just a bit of harmless fun, I'm sure. :)

I totally agree. Then again, many people will probably get bored by it after a while and proceed to the next cool thing ;)

I personally don't mind at all if people play necromancers, assassins or cultists - although I think in most cases "evil" outfits and mounts aren't even used with a roleplay background in mind, but just because people think they look cool (which is, of course, rooted in culture and mass media and is a comparatively rather new phenomenon).

But even if it is roleplay, I'm not bothered. Although personally, I actually find total cliché characters always cringe, no matter if it's the knight in shining armor that rescues noblewomen, kittens and puppies out of burning buildings, fights injustice and environmental pollution and helps grandma cross the street, or the bad ruthless "insert evil laugh here" necromancer whose only personality trait seems to be "villain" and only interest in life are killing people, causing chaos or raising the dead. More nuanced characters, including morally grey, are much more interesting - when it comes to both users' roleplay characters as well as npcs within ESO's narrations.

Which bothers me in this case is that it's over the top. It's a difference playing some random necromancer, bandit or evil wizard or posing as a Daedric Prince in person. It makes what a Daedric Prince should be too trivial.

The sound of Coldharbour Recall should only be heard by the player using it. Until a few days ago I was still running to the anchors when I heard that sound. Now that I realize that it's just players trolling with the new recall, I've completely stopped paying attention to the sound. So, now whether or not it's real, I don't even care. :) Basically, the functionality of that sound in the game was ruined for a completely meaningless reason.

I repeat, the sound should only be heard by the player using that recall. No one else needs to hear that.

What's rather annoying are the people who have to throw a mudball at someone who uses it or has a Molag polymorph.
It's childish to the point of being completely ***.

I bought the bundle too, then bought the polymorph because I just wanted it. It's nobody's business what you wear or use.
And the very first time I used polymprph, I got a mudball from some moron.

For this game at this time it would already be best for everyone to play as neutral unpainted objects without effects so that no one is envious or that it does not accidentally offend someone.
    Really sorry for my english

I honestly use it every chance I get. I love the sound and effects of dolmens in general. They're still one of the best animations in the game. Credit to the people who designed the recall.

Ah yes. All these recalls. It's just wonderful when players stand right in front of the banker, the wayshrine, the quest givers and use their obnoxious blinding recalls, each more ridiculous than the last.

Can't wait for the Mirrormoor, Dark Brotherhood or Carnivale ones...

I'm happy some people "love" it. I'm just a little bummed that I HAVE to love too. The sound ruins the immersion and there is no way to mute it on my end.

Wish I could turn player sound effects off, though.

I'm sad to hear that happened to you :(

For example, I am the player who is not bothered by anything done to player corpses in PvP (and is up for any shenanigans with any players there), but when it comes to some visual changes to someone's character model in PvE with malicious intentions, I can understand the frustration.
A player throwing a mudball might think that they show disrespect to actual Molag Bal, but such people have to remember that they only see a costume worn by other player. This other player has really good time looking at their character, and doesn't not deserve to feel bad simply for using a scary costume :)

I'm taking lot of screenshots and videos with so many hilarious situations featuring Molag Bal, and pretty much everything makes me laugh! But sometimes I find very cool scenes, fitting to Dark Lord's nature.
Once other player made actual effort to not disrupt certain scenes with my character as Molag Bal, and I even typed in chat that he can kill those mobs surrounding me :D That would make hilarious video with Molag Bal watching his servants slain, but player was already gone by that time...

    https://youtu.be/wLweLtYPebo

As it was very late night, I had long roleplay with Dark Seducers in that place, and it was pretty epic considering the limits of gameplay <3
