Loot three thieves troves for extra endeavors. Not cool ZOS.

Even with this endeavor having more seals I quickly decided to do 3 other ones. Takes too much time to find thieves troves.

Sorry I couldn’t plan ahead with my game purchase many years ago with the foresight to know that I would need add-ons to find the endeavor for today.

All the endeavors should offer the same rewards, imagine accidently doing the endeavors that grant 10 seals hereby locking you out of doing the ones that grant 40 and 90 seals.

I just went around on overland to find them because I figured people would be going to the more dense areas. Didn't have much trouble. It was problematic when it was for a lead only accessible in one zone, but when it's every zone... that's a lot of nodes.

I found wandering around the wilderness for an hour a welcome break from WB farming, but it did occur to me that map familiarity - something newer players don't have - and addons do help enormously.

I went around a couple zones using an addon, and literally every single trove was gone. What's the respawn on these? Literally only camping a single one would be better now, since everything I'd like to do would complete too many other endeavors...
Lol, and just as I said it, I brain afk completed the last (third) other endeavor. So much for this...

This endeavor is perfectly fine. I got all three of my chosen endeavors-- loot thieves troves, pick locks, use ultimate abilities-- done in about 15 minutes in the Alik'r Desert, in Satakalaam and the Motalion Necropolis. There's a thieves trove just a bit to the right of the entrance to the Motalion Necropolis, and several more inside the Motalion Necropolis. There are also several treasure chests inside the Motalion Necropolis, especially in the section that leads to the King's Rest world boss. And there are plenty of opportunities to use your ultimate abilities while fighting the mobs inside the Motalion Necropolis, or fighting the King's Rest world boss. Easy peasy.

For the reasons stated above I suggest to create a sticky thread for the community to discuss these topic within a "Reward/Effort Ratio Feedback Thread" (any other name is fine for me too) based on questions made by zos to concentrate feedback regarding this topic.

At the very same time I ask you to restrict any discussion regarding this matter to said feedback thread as rigorosly at it's done with discussions regarding game difficulty for the purpose of keeping the overall forums well-usable and welcoming to the overall community.

so you read it without understanding what OP is even talking about. he isn't complaining about "too little rewards" or "too tedious", trying to armchair-moderate makes you look like a fool.

the same day picking 2 locks gave 40 endeavor seals instead of 10. how difficult or tedious do you think it is porting into a city and pick two doors?

or what about today, take a look at this and try to figure out what the issue is:

    p0qvwddpcdwm.jpg

I can't wait to hear your explanation why pickpocketing 10 items should have a higher reward than repairing 10k damage. or why an endeavor gated behind a paid DLC gives the best reward (but it's 20% off right now!).
and, in case you don't know either, you are only allowed to do three per day. completed the wrong ones without checking right after after login, too bad. and that's before I point out it's not how the system ran for three years or how it was quietly changed (I wonder why).

same system btw ZOS itself advertised as "This is to ensure that everybody, regardless of their play style, has an opportunity to earn the new currency without having to complete activities they don’t necessarily enjoy."

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/59925

it's simply bad game design trying to balance rewards to tasks with limited amounts, not the other way around like it was before (what was wrong with it the last three years?), on top of making no sense, see the beginning with "pick 2 locks" giving four times the reward.

PS: you could've asked to have it moved to the crown store section, at least that would've been a good idea, but alas...

I wouldn’t be too upset about the different values of endeavors — I think it’s just be changed up both as extra reward and promotion of different activities and DLCs for the anniversary. It wasn’t a “quiet change” but announced I believe at the same time as picking a pocket to get the Thieves Guild DLC for free.

You weren't talking to me, but I'll answer.

It's because of the Thieves Guild celebration going on right now. They told us in the announcement for that celebration that there would be extra rewards all during the celebration connected to activities associated with both the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

Those two guilds are part of the core Elder Scrolls franchise and lore, part of every main Elder Scrolls game since Daggerfall. (They were also mentioned in Arena, but Arena had no joinable guilds or factions.) Players who are new to the Elder Scrolls Online will surely want to add those two DLCs to their accounts, and during this celebration those players are able to pick up both of those DLCs for 80% of the cost of one, since the Thieves Guild can be gotten for free by pickpocketing one NPC and then claiming the Thieves Guild DLC for free in the Crown Store, along with the discounted Dark Brotherhood DLC-- two DLCs for less than the usual price of one of them.

Because we're in the middle of a promotion focusing on the Thieves Guild (and to a lesser extent, Dark Brotherhood), and they told us to expect several Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood THEMED endeavors this week that would have increased rewards.

It's not really bad game design to do promotional stunts.

This is the 10 year anniversary. They have spent some time celebrating their first year of DLC.

The first year of DLC released was Imperial City, Wrothgar, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood. It's a thank you to players who have supported the game by buying the DLC (or subbing) and a welcome to the DLC for those who haven't.

On the console, I have known trove spots I check every day. If I'm lucky I find one every other day. Three? Nope no going to happen.

I think that ZOS overlooks how difficult some of the things are without addons. I feel like non-PC players are an afterthought.

I used map pins to show only thieves troves and went through multiple zones. Not a single one was spawned. I was expecting it and gave up. Not going to camp in front of a spawn location. I knew all the thieves troves are looted based on the mess that was the Oakensoul lead in Murkmire upon release. The amount of players, and the amount of thieves troves and their respawn time makes it so that it is quite certainly mathematically impossible for everyone willing to get those endeavours.

This endeavour was from the beginning only for a few.

I think it's understandable if people are dissatisfied, because thieves troves aren't that common anyway and if EVERYONE is looking for them, it might be impossible to find 3 pieces. Especially if you are playing during a peak game time. I didn't make it yesterday, I only found 2 troves, even though I ran my "round" for 1.5 hours - this is the maximum time I have available.

Any time you need to look outside the game to achieve something, the game is probably doing it not in the best way.

While I mostly agree with the gist of that observation, players have been looking outside of games for many years in order to achieve things. There are-- or used to be, anyway (I haven't kept up with such things in many years)-- paperback books and magazines devoted to beating video games, or revealing how to trigger secret "easter eggs" or access "hidden bonus levels" in popular games.

Nowadays I suppose that sort of information is primarily found on websites devoted to "walkthroughs," or in videos created by "expert gamers" and posted on their YouTube channels.

What are the best Magicka Warden builds for a Tank, a Damage Dealer, or a Healer? Players don't look for the answers for those types of questions in the game; they search the internet for them. True, they might ask other players in zone chat or guild chat to recommend the specific "content creator" who has the best builds for a given class or group role, but then they go look for that person's builds outside of the game.

I'm not trying to say that your observation is wrong, because I rather agree that needing to look outside of a game for answers to in-game questions and problems is probably indicative of a lack within the game. I'm merely pointing out that there is a long and time-honored tradition of players looking outside of games for detailed information about those games and answers to various in-game problems or questions.

As far as this particular endeavor, no addons or fan-made maps are needed, just past experience and memory. Thieves troves have a distinctive blue glow which is hard to miss, so they aren't difficult for new players to spot without having to resort to an addon or map. And once you've found locations where they can be found, it's mainly a matter of remembering which specific areas have several possible locations for thieves troves.

The problem I usually have with these sorts of endeavors-- not specifically the ones for thieves troves, but more generally the ones to harvest or loot X thingies, such as logs of wood, runestones, jewelry seams, etc.-- is that I always seem to forget the best (i.e., densest) locations, and on top of that it seems like the thingies I'm looking for are deliberately hiding from me until I've finally found the last one I needed, after which they miraculously seem to start popping up all over the place.

There are only a couple of thieves trove locations that I know by heart in Vvardenfell, and if I check those places it's likely that I won't find them if I need them. But the Motalion Necropolis in the Alik'r Desert seems to be a pretty reliable source of them.

Yeah I am on my PC (windows 10) and it's clipped at the bottom so it doesn't show the submit button.

OK after hiding my task bar, I was just able to see the top of a box at the bottom, couldn't read what it said as it is still mostly clipped but I think it was the submit button (there were two buttons it looked like. I pressed the left hand one).
