Do you enjoy grinding for "extremely rare" style-pages, which are available for limited time?

No, I don't enjoy how these pages are obtained. Don't do that again.
I thought I had beaten FOMO and was rarely playing anymore.

But the jubilee is quite different and I want to take part. I love these style pages. I am questioning if I should just cut and run with the three items I have and say the heck with the rest because the drop rate is horrible.

I think whomever came up with this particular portion of the celebration should grab a dictionary and look up the definition of fun. This grind is not fun. :/

I don't feel like I'm celebrating while battling the RNG monster.

Sort of. The idea is nice, and more earnable motifs are always a good thing, but the drop rates can't be this abysmal. There is only so much grinding I can do before it feels like a complete waste of time, and not even a fun one.

Yes I enjoy grind for rare stuff, thats a reason I play games like this. But I also think grinding stuff for trading with other players are fun and a big reason I play Eso.

So therefore im 50/50 for these style pages.

It's a mixed bag. I voted yes but it's not that simple.
I do quite enjoy a good grind for a rare motif or item but rng obscures what level of grind is required and how 'rare' an item feels.
Yes I like a good grind, no I don't like extreme rng creating a greater illusion of a grind as it gets to a point where it just feels like nonsense time wasting. Just as an example I would rather 'do x 800 times' than 'do x 1 to 1000 times - luck decides'. Even if in this example 800 times is extreme (which it probably is), at least it's an end goal.

I don't mind the fishing one.
Won't bother with any of the others... largely due to the crowds at bosses and dolmens (and the companions with them, and the arcanists, and so on). I'd like them, I'm big on cosmetic stuff, but it's not worth the frustration to me.

And I promise I won't come back in X number of years and ask that I be able to get them ;)

I play the parts of the game i enjoy, and buy everything else with the gold i make by doing it. Sometimes i have to focus a little more on selling my stuff on the guild trader. Just for a few days, so i can afford really expensive things that i don't want to farm myself. Division of labor works in ESO too, you don't have to do everything on your own. Farming sets and selling stuff on the guildtrader are the only things i feel like i have to do once in a while, even if i don't really enjoy it. But it's bearable and can be rewarding too. I don't have the urge to have everything in the game. Just because something is rare doesn't mean i want to have it. Except for good performance in Cyrodiil.

I will abide voting because neither fits my likes. I like grinding. It brings me fun. I don’t agree on items being locked behind a unique, specific grinding method though. These items should be tradeable. People who like/don’t mind to grind will profit or drop their own pages to use. People who don’t like this specific grinding will choose another method of acquiring gold and purchase the styles from other players

Once I start seeing there's a grind, I no longer participate in those activities. It definitely dampens the mood of the anniversary activities.

Since the first High Isle event, the limited-time style pages have been a very rare drop. I think it's to prevent flooding the market with pages, but it's made their acquisition quite frustrating. People have been saying the drop rates need to be improved, and it hasn't happened AFAIK. It's irritating they've not acted on our feedback since then, provided it's even been seen, and even made a change to make them bound. @ZOS_Kevin what's up with that?

The styles aren't good enough to justify the extremely low drop rates. If I'm grinding for days then I expect the reward to be meaningful. Such as a modern cosmetic with particle effects and good animations, or a PvP/Trial item, etc.

I would enjoy it if I got an anniversary box every time. But I do feel scammed if I do not get an Anniversary box. I don't feel a need to get all the style pages, so I don't feel pressured to continue farming after I am not enjoying it anymore.

I admit to a bit of fomo due to them being special for the anniversary so I’m trying to get them on both servers. On one I only have the Vvardenfell ones to get but on the other I’ve genuinely spent hours running in circles for geysers and dolmens but still only have the fishing one and none of my characters use swords.

At first, they appeared to be dropping regularly and the ones I have were obtained quite quickly but for the last two days, I’ve found nothing and barely anyone is celebrating in chat so I’m close to giving up. I would much rather choose a mixture of dailies or do more writs. I don’t mind that they are available by completing a specific activity, it’s more the RNG/rarity issue that makes it so disheartening.

If I had to do each one TWICE, I’d never log in again and throw my computer out the window.

I don't think ZOS should overlook the importance of this - the feelings expressed in the zone chats I've been in for hours each day have generally been very muted. When someone gets a page, they might be excited, but more often they're just relieved the grind is over. And while I do sometimes see a couple people chime in with congratulations, it's very disappointing as a semi-long-time player that "thank everything that's over" and "grats on outlasting RNG" are the predominant sentiments being expressed in zone chat during a 10-year anniversary celebration. I wouldn't want new players logging in to that either. I don't want players to lie or keep quiet; I want them to be able to be honestly excited about the event.

I’ve been seeing this too, it’s a sense of quiet desperation with occasionally a “grats that the suffering is over for you” thrown in.

Yes, I enjoy the way this pages are obtained and want to see similar events in the future.
I didn't think I would bother with these because I usually don't care very much about cosmetic items.

However, I started the geyser grind and I have actually enjoyed it.

It brings me back to 2014 when I was grinding Craglorn Anomalies for a couple of Veteran Levels. To players who didn't play then, before the CP system existed, we had 16 Veteran Levels which began after level 50. Vet content was much more difficult. For a time, VR levels and the CP system coexisted before they were removed with the 1T (2.6) update. Back then, Craglorn was much more difficult than it is today as a VR10 group overland zone.

So I think it's appropriate for the 10 year anniversary.

I don't enjoy the Geysers themselves, but I enjoy trying to clear them effectively to build ult so I can be sure to get boss loot ungrouped. I also enjoy the race between wayshrines and the geysers. I can tell some others do too.

I'll be glad when the grind is done and I'll appreciate the items I get more knowing that they're not participation prizes that everyone gets. I would prefer it if they were gated behind challenging content, but let's face it, that would be even more controversial around here!

You may not enjoy the grind, but I think most will enjoy having the item more knowing that it's rare and because it probably took some effort to get.

8 hours, no drop.... and I'm fine with that.

Edit: 13 hours or so, finally dropped!

I'm not very fomo driven and I don't tend to collect stuff for the sake of collecting. I will spend the time that I have to spare on trying to get the staves. If I get them, cool, if I don't, oh well...
I'm generally ok with the idea of getting more of those kind of rewards in the future, but few adjustments would make things smoother. Mainly dropping the time limit and if a page is tied to something like geysers there has to be more instances for the zone to avoid overcrowding.

Just wanted to know how the playerbase feels about this:

The new style-pages available during jubilee are:
    1. "extremely rare" according to zos
    2. available for a limited time for the forseeable future
    3. only obtainable in very few locations (that's true only for 3 out of 5)

      So, how does it go?

      Do you enjoy?

I do not participate in the grid. FULL STOP.

Having to put some effort to get a cool item is fine in principle, but what we're seeing in this event is out of proportion. The mood both here and in game isn't celebratory. If this is how we're supposed to start celebrating the 10th anniversary, it feels reasonable to worry about what else the devs have in store for us.

They're doing this for 10 years, and will continue doing it as long as all of you guys will give them enough money to make a profit. Polls don't matter.

As for the reason why things are this way, the more time you spend on the grind, the more invested you are in their product, and you're more likely to give them more money.

Not everyone has the luxury to play 8 9 10hrs a day, 7days a week. People have jobs, family, etc. Do you assume that those who don't have such luxury of time to farm the rare style pages, are 'instant gratification' ones?

Instead of something actually memorable for 10 years of ESO - we get this nonsense.

Not to be too harsh, but the people behind this need to ask themselves are they inherently "fun" enough people to be designing games??

Grinding for hours is not why I log in to play games. Sure, give me a challenge against a boss, trying to figure out a puzzle or just sitting back and enjoying the story as I progress through the game, this is why I log in. I'm a working stiff, which means I grind in the real world for 5 days a week, my commute is 1.5 hours each way and that's if traffic is behaving. Why in the wild wild world would I want to come home and do more grinding?

Calling something fun is relative to the individual, so if you like the grind, cool, I'm happy for you but that's just not my thing, so if I don't get the new shinny toy, its no biggie. Most of this stuff just sits in inventory anyway and forgotten in 6th months.

I wish I could buy them in crown store; grinding is insanely boring. Would be great if they put the style pages in crown store in the last few days of event. I feel like [snip] myself in the head every time I go to another geyser. I've simply given up at this point; NOTHING is worth reaching the point where you start to hate the game because of ZOS's bizarre logic around drop rate.
