Do you enjoy grinding for "extremely rare" style-pages, which are available for limited time?

Just wanted to know how the playerbase feels about this:

The new style-pages available during jubilee are:
  1. "extremely rare" according to zos
  2. available for a limited time for the forseeable future
  3. only obtainable in very few locations (that's true only for 3 out of 5)

    So, how does it go?

    Do you enjoy?

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

'Grind' means tiresome and tiring work, so no one enjoys it by its definition. Next!

For the bonus style pages though, we should have guaranteed fragments or something. So there's incentive for all to redo geysers for example, but spread out over the event and not so concentrated in time and space.

The reward should reflect the time put in.
Grinding 200+ world bosses in Vvardenfell for nothing in return is grossly unfair.
If ZOS wants to give those bad odds, they should make the motifs also available on sale from the Event store for 10 tickets.

I don't enjoy it, but I think it's more accurate to say I'm indifferent.

Whenever ZOS run an "event" which consists of farming something that's a permanent part of the game for an extra reward I'll maybe do it once a day for event tickets if I want something from them, but that's all. Otherwise I play normally, which for me almost never involves repeating daily quests or dolmens or whatever because I find it very boring to do the same thing over and over.

The only events I go out of my way to do are ones with unique quests/activities like New Life and the Jester's Festival, then I make sure I've done each quest at least once each year.

I assume there is some sort of unique rare drops for each one but I don't care. If I want them and they're tradable I might buy them from another player at some point. If not I'll just unlock whichever I get and ignore the rest.

I’m a little in the opposite boat, Dolmens haven’t been too bad for me because I’ve been running the Fighter’s Guild dailies on all my alts to boost Companion Guild ranks as well as Guild skills on some of my alts. If I hadn’t gotten the page, I’d still have those ranks leveled up, so it wouldn’t have been time wasted. When I finally sit down to fish I’m going to slot Sharp and target zones I don’t have all the trophy fish for, so I can boost his friendship rank and knock out a few fishing achievements I don’t already have, and make progress on SOMETHING even if I don’t get the page. (I’m a big fan of multi-tasking.)

But geysers and World Bosses don’t have a lot else associated with them except for dailies. Those are going to be a grind. :/

I don't do a lot of crafting and don't collect all the items in a particular style. I'm more likely just to pick from the various styles I have collected bits of when I craft. Do people really want to have all their armour from the same style? I think that's perhaps a boring look, and defeats the object of splitting a style into different areas like head or shoulders rather than having a costume.

I can see why they would slow down the drop rate as eventually the designers will run out of ideas so they wouldn't want everyone to collect all of the items of a style all at once because then they will have to think up a new style.

But the low drop rate must really annoy collectors.

It’s cool to give people additional reason to revisit older content, but the extremely low drop rate combined with the pages being bind-on-pickup is a poor choice IMO. I would rather ZOS do as they have in the past with with event style pages, including rarer ones, and have the dropped ones be UNBOUND with bound versions also available for tickets.

This stinks and honestly incentivizes me to just not even try given how poor the drop rate is. I do not wish to spend the entirety of this fun 10-year anniversary event chasing geysers for the chance of still not even getting the style page.

Making style pages like these tradeable would make this format a lot healthier IMO. Way more items should be tradeable in this game being an MMO, especially during an event. Get the players interacting with each other and helping each other out (trading styles they looted but didn't want with someone else who got the style they wanted, etc etc).

Like, I got the Trueflame motif last night while I was fishing for an angler achievement that I didn't have so I could buy a furnishing item. I don't care about this style; I don't want it. I could've (and most definitely would've gladly) given it over to someone else who does want it if these were tradeable.

Instead I got a motif I'll never want or use that I could've gifted to someone else, which not only would save them hours of grinding, but also would make the overall vibes of the event and anniversary better, just by promoting trading interaction alone.

    Uncertain about this.

Yes, being able to help out each other would be fitting (I also have 2 unused pages for Trueflame and can't gift them besides I'm not even interested in the weapon).

On the other hand: Removing BoP would overcrowd affected locations even more due to traders not moving on after earning the first page.

I think we need a more general solution for the issues at hand.

The fact that the pages are not tradeable or available to be purchased with tickets is a full on FOMO play. There will be many who, because of limited time or bad RNG, will be locked out from 10th anniversary rewards.

It doesn't seem very celebratory or fun for a lot of players.

I think that's a seperate problem. "Too many players are doing the same activity as me" shouldn't ever be a problem in a cooperative (PvE) area of an MMO, whether it's during an event or for any other reason.

ESO does have some tools to help with that already, like being able to create additional copies of busy maps so we don't have to queue to get in, but I think it could be better about it.

I agree, that should only happen rarely, if ever.

Nonetheless during this event Summerset incursions and Vvardenfell WBs aren't playable content most of the time due to this locations being permanently overcrowded.

As far as it concerns me: No visible enemies (in this case due to too many participants) = no participation possible in content.

Maybe you would be correct, if only the current market during the event is considered. That's not the case tho:

While players, which don't want to grind, would surely simply buy available pages, others would try to collect several pages for later selling purposes, as the pages in question would become extraodinarily valuable due to their "limited-time nature".

There will always be newer/returning players and those who missed out for willing traders to take money out of their pockets.

So no, those pages would be farmed over and over again until jubilee's end.

As long as they're BoP there is no reason to stay at said locations after the first drop.

I'm in the "other" category. I could care less about the style sheets, I don't grind for them, nor do I actually use the style if I get them (I do "use" them to put them in my style library however). Honestly I find the included styles more then fine.
