Do you enjoy grinding for "extremely rare" style-pages, which are available for limited time?

No, and I don't bother doing it. But as long as most people will do things they don't like out of FOMO, we'll keep getting events that exploit FOMO for engagement.

Now I don't mind a grind, something to just mindlessly do whioe watching or doing something else every now and again. I however do *not* approve of adding in multiple grinds with a time limit to get these Once-And-Done style pages. I like to grind when I *want* to, and to be able to stop and start again whenever I want, no matter how long the grind is. I do *not* want to be forced to spend my entire playtime mindlessly grinding these activities, or risk losing out because I did something more fun with my time.

Edit: Sidenote, is what I hear is correct as well, ESPECIALLY don't ever do it if the rewards are based on the top damage dealers and everyone and their extended family are running the exact content you are also trying to get the reward from.

I don't don't mind a bit of a grind - I was there in Shadowfen camping a water node back when the Kilt came out. My lead took longer than all my friends but I got it late on my second day.

I've been grinding for these pages since 3pm BST on Thursday and managed to get 1. I'm currently thinking today I'll log in for writs, endeavours and then log out. I don't want to see another geyser, world boss or dolmen today.

    Rather yes than no.
I went to grind points time to time when I was in farming mood.
I left them when tired or not in mood anymore. There are plenty of things to do in the game.
I leveled the weapon skills for companions on EU and leveled new char on NA while farmed geysers and dolmens.

Actually, I don't see anything special in the situation:
    1. I don't feel drop as extremely rare. Got 4 of 5 at the moment. Many antiquity leads took way more time and efforts, as far as I remember.

    2. I don't see these styles so exclusive or beautiful. They look nice, but not that force people to mayhem for them, really.

    3. I don't think that low drop rate with time limits together are critical. We have dungeon monster styles for years. You need way more efforts to obtain any of them, if you ask me. Was it a problem?
The only difference of current styles is BoP. Well, it may be the key. Have those people, who're blaming ZOS in every topic, bought every monster style that had been dropped in dungeons? Are they all collectors who can't live without single style page missed?

In fact I see just another element for grind.
I don't understand why people spend 7 or 8 hours grinding geysers or bosses in obsessive way.
I am still trying to realize the cause of the current wave of negativity. I take it as a bit overreacted.

I like that they added rare drops, though I think they should keep them in the game forever.
And honestly I think it would be nice if they added more of those rare drops from several activities.

However I do not grind any of them myself, I have plenty of swords, staves etc. unlocked that better fit my characters.
Like, as a fashion collector it's cool if I find any, but I do not actually need them, since I probably wouldn't ever use them.

I will never understand why people willingly spoil the game for themselves by obsessively doing something they hate over and over again for literal hours on end, just to get one super rare item. Doing dolmens for an hour would already destroy my brain, let alone doing that for several hours, on consecutive days. In contrast the anniversary boxes are so much more rewarding, and drop from everything.

Finding super rare stuff is fun, but it doesn't outweigh such a grind, at least not for me. I will probably give it a try somewhere during the event, but very much in moderation. Since the moment I feel something is a chore, is the moment I will stop playing.

    I don't grind anything.

With these drops I only go after them for a short period, and usually while doing something else. I've got the fishing page, but only because I've went to a zone where I don't already have the fishing achievement, so have worked on that at the same time. It took a couple of goes, as after around an hour I go and do something else instead.

I'm unlikely to use the style pieces anyway, so if they don't drop it doesn't matter much, as I've achieved something else, and it appears less like time wasted.

I don't grind in games. That seems too much like work and I retired from that years ago! It would be nice to have them, but I don't want them THAT much. Making them bound was just the crowning crap on top.

No thanks, I'll stick to playing other stuff that does give me a decent reward for a decent amount of effort.

Khajiit doesn't care -that- much - the styles of this one's 19 khajiit and 1 argonian with fluffy delusions have not changed in years, and they are not likely to change any time soon unless they introduce some new and obviously ethnically khajiit or argonian style.

I almost never see the feedback that there is nothing to do in this game. It is generally famous for having a lot to do, and some new players actually quit because there is too much to do and they get overwhelmed. The devs have put in work to simplify certain things to avoid that and also dropped a dlc from development.

So, I don't think that's a particularly fair analysis from my own personal perspective of the types of feedback I have seen.

Most users seem to want neither instant gratification nor a super long grind. Somewhere in the middle.

i votes yes, but with minor changes i would like to see in the future:
    1. slightly higher drop rates, while RNG is RNG it definitely felt like the drops ranged from "uncommon" to "extremely rare" (took me an hour of fishing to get trueflame, but 17 hours of camping a vvardenfell WB for the barbas helm)
    2. allow the pages to be either tradeable or buyable with tickets at a bare minimum to have alternate ways to get them

Really I wanted to put maybe.

Right now I’m enjoying the grind, I’ve gotten everything but the staff if Manimarco and having these iconic appearances feel ‘rare’ is kinda cool to me.

But if I wasn’t all that into ESO right now and was playing another game or wanting to I can see it really irritating me.

So I can’t say for sure. Get rid of the FOMO and let people farm all year round. It’s nice to have something cool to farm for as a solo player that isn’t tied to some kind of lock out.

Or add bad luck protection so people aren’t spending literal days of played time with awful rng.

    No, I think it wasn't a good idea for the Jubilee (especially since it's supposed to be in celebration for an awesome milestone in the game). I don't mind grinding for items, but not during a time limited event, and without knowing whether the items would be available again in the future. I know technically we don't have to farm these but for completionists, it does damper enjoyment of the event until all the pages are gotten ^^;;

I play the game for the story content, unless it is something I really want, I don't bother with the games grinding time sinks, think it was around when they started putting leads in treasure chests for those ancestral styles that I completely lost interest in motif/style page hunting.

I admit to a bit of fomo due to them being special for the anniversary so I’m trying to get them on both servers. On one I only have the Vvardenfell ones to get but on the other I’ve genuinely spent hours running in circles for geysers and dolmens but still only have the fishing one and none of my characters use swords.

At first, they appeared to be dropping regularly and the ones I have were obtained quite quickly but for the last two days, I’ve found nothing and barely anyone is celebrating in chat so I’m close to giving up. I would much rather choose a mixture of dailies or do more writs. I don’t mind that they are available by completing a specific activity, it’s more the RNG/rarity issue that makes it so disheartening.

People wanted more rewards that can be earned in-game.
People wanted more exclusive elements that can be used as status symbols.
People wanted more reasons to grind older content.

And when ZoS gives them that, people complain that they should have been easy to get or available in the crown store because THEY'RE the ones who might not get the exclusive stuff.

People have pointed out that if ZoS had done 2/3 of the current implementations it would have been fine:
    1. Limited time only, bind on pick-up, more generous drop rate
    2. Limited time only, tradeable, rare drop rate
    3. Always available, bind on pick up, rare drop rate

With #1, you have to farm them yourself, within the time constraints, but the chances are greater, allowing you to celebrate doing the things you find fun. #1 is likely most fitting for a CELEBRATION event.

With #2, the time constraint still exists but if you don't get said items, you can buy them later from traders. If you don't have the time, or interest, in the grinding, you can still do the things you find fun during the event while people who do like farming/trading can do things they like.

#3 is what you're talking about. Rare drops, rewards/cosmetics you can earn playing the game and can do so at your leisure. The style pages are always there. It may take some time to get them but you do them on YOUR time. Not really fitting for an in-game event, but more of a long-asked for addition to the game.

Instead we got the trifecta combination which puts pretty much no one in a celebratory mood.

I'm voting for the unspoken third option, or "Somewhere between options 1 and 2."

On the one hand, I don't particularly enjoy grinding for anything, be it XP, gold, gear, Antiquity leads, Seals of Endeavor, Tel Var stones, Alliance Points, Transmute crystals, crafting motif pages, outfit style pages, etc., etc. I don't suffer from uncontrolled FOMO, so I don't have much of a problem with foregoing a grind in favor of focusing on other things I'd rather be doing.

Then again, I'd like to collect whatever event rewards I can, if I'm able to, and I don't mind relatively brief periods of grinding for some specific purpose as long as I feel like it isn't preventing me from doing other things I want to do in the game. And if it turns out that I haven't collected everything by the time the event ends-- which is still roughly 2 weeks away, mind you-- I'm certainly not going to get upset about it.

It’s cool to give people additional reason to revisit older content, but the extremely low drop rate combined with the pages being bind-on-pickup is a poor choice IMO. I would rather ZOS do as they have in the past with with event style pages, including rarer ones, and have the dropped ones be UNBOUND with bound versions also available for tickets.

If they had included harrowstorms and volcanic vents as well as the geysers it would have drawn people to more older content and cut down on the crowds. I have no idea why anyone thought that driving huge groups of players to one region was a good idea. Even late at night on a week night, it's still so crowded you can't even see the boss to get in a hit.

It's not just the grind it's the crowds.

That's truly my biggest issue with the grind here. Just randomly throwing down AOEs at enemies you cannot even see since they die so fast while your screen and speakers are overrun by the entire playerbase is no fun. I was seriously falling asleep doing geysers today because it's just that mindless and not even remotely engaging.... and I wasn't even doing them for hours on end like some people here have been. I was maybe going at it for about 40 mins.
