U41 Guild History problems

Still having issues. Slap in the face to GM's and officers. Hard enough to run a guild and not have game-implemented systems in place to assist with running a guild (not counting addons).

Hell I even got social banned once for sending too many guild mails with Godsend.

Would love to see some guild QOL updates in the future. Guild communities are a huge part of the game community and helps keep the player base goin.

I'm also still having intermittent issues. I thought it might be useful to compile a short list of what I'm seeing : -

How busy the server is seems to have an impact - updating guild trader data in quieter, off-peak times returns a more consistent result. Data updates and the process "completes" more often.
On the other hand, trying to update guild data when it's busy tends to lead to a greater chance of the "retrieving data" icon spinning forever, or getting stuck.
It seems to make a difference how big / successful the trade guild is, too. The bigger the guild, or the more active, the more more chance of the data getting "stuck". More data, I guess?
It also seems to make a difference if you're in multiple guilds. I have a few accounts in several big trade guilds and those accounts are far more likely to get stuck at some point. Those accounts with one smaller trade guild tends to complete. Interestingly, it's almost always a single guild that gets stuck - apparently randomly.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a LibHistoire issue - it seems to be something related to a timeout or throttling of requests.

@ZOS_Kevin is there any chance we can trouble you for an update, please? What's the ZoS view on this one?

I have just compaired data with myself and another GM; we are both in 3 guilds together.

None of our data matches.

I am assuming this is because of forcing the data.

This is so annoying. Must be really bad for those running large trading guilds.

The UI devs are also aware of the issue and are working hard to correct the issue. It has really been a pleasant experience to collaborate with the devs and we appreciate their diligence and hard work.

In the meantime if you use Master Merchant and LibHistoire it has a Clear Cache function. If your trader category is stuck you can clear the cache and after the UI reloads, request data.

Hopefully after the next incremental patch things will work more smoothly.

I'm also having issues with the guild history. The sales that are shown are not older than 4 hours and even though I hit "show more" a couple of times, nothing is changing. I still have 4 pages of history and that's it. The oldest sale shown stays the same. After a while, even the "show more" button disappeared.

I do use an addon (ATT) but it doesn't seem affected since the guild history itself is bugged. I'm starting to miss the old system. xD

I use ATT and only got it to work once. I really used this a lot to track my own sales and see how I was doing compared to others in the guild.

I really hope ZoS is able to do something about this soon.

Jesus. Please don't let this go live on console. It's already a nightmare without add-ons. EVERYTHING is done manually. The guild history CURRENTLY doesn't even update properly and tho check deposits you have to log COMPLETELY out of the game and dashboard and reload the game entirely. Do the developers even play the game? Because it really doesn't seem like it. At all.

As the add-on makers and the game developers are working on fixing this problem I'm presently just hitting alt and cancelling the dialog when logging out. My trading add-on Arkadius' Trade Tools is showing sales prices in the guild stores so I'm selling as normal but saving my most expensive items for when the fix is released.

A lot of guilds on console have bookkeepers who do the books once a week. Bookkeepers typically review guild history and enter each deposit manually into a google spreadsheet. We do not have add ons to help facilitate this process. It would be devastating to not have reliable deposit history (members would not get credit for their deposits), and it would also be equally devastating to only have 3 days of history instead of the 10 days we currently have.

PLEASE don’t push this update to console until it’s been fixed!!

Click the circle above the stuck trader bar in libhistoire window and select ”clear cache”.
I would post a picture here but it fails every time I try.

I don't have ESO installed in Linux but I guess this is how I would find the caches.

type echo ~/Documents in the terminal to find the folder where ESOs support files should be in a default install.

Note down the path as this will be needed in the next step

To find the cache files type this in the Terminal

find [path to your Documents directory as retrieved above] -type d -name 'GuildHistory'

Without and with addons, I am still very much stuck on the retrieving history page. I did clear the guild history cache manually but there's no change.
The biggest issues are bank items and trader history.

It is sometimes working for me and othertimes it goes out into space.

I do wish the "Retrieving history" note showed what it was doing a bit better.

That was how MM used to work until Libs were needed for addons.

The problem I am having is that it broke ATT. I had it working most of the time for a couple of days, but after the update to LibHistoire yesterday I'm getting an error message every time I log a character on again.

I really rely on this to track my sales and am beyond frustrated.

Update: I rolled back to the previous version of LibHistoire and ATT is kinda sorta working again.

Yes, the guild history and our add-ons are still rather capricious.

Today I sat down and decided to give this another try just to see if dancing naked at midnight, deep in the forest, whirling black and white cockerels around my head while intoning arcane incantations would perhaps succeed... /hyperbolic joke

Here's a detailed report on my efforts today:

Fired up the Guild History window and LibHistoire is pretty pink for three of my five guilds however two guilds showing green inspired some hope.

Then the tediousness process of changing guilds, clicking on the stuck categories (mostly Trader), and clearing the cache for the stuck categories. This action apparently triggers a /reloadui so I wait for that to complete. Did that for the three guilds showing pink in the LibHistoire window, uncontrollable yawning and feeling sleepy, but one must carry on.

Got all my guilds to show green in the LibHistoire window, got up to stretch legs and make an strong espresso, I suspect I will need it.

Well fortified I logged out and then logged back in with the same character only see the LibHistoire window showing two guilds blank. Flabbergasted but filled with unholy anger I vowed to complete my self-assigned task.

"Once more unto the breach" as the bard said. Once again it was the Trader category stuck so I delve into this tedious task once more. Choosing the problem guild, then choose Trader category, empty that cache, wait for the /reloadui, go and refresh with the "Show More" button, get green, now only one guild left, yay!

With that done I went and fixed myself something stronger. As suspected in this login only one guild was problematic so navigating to that guild choosing Trader category, clicking repeatedly on the right arrow and refreshing when allowed got the green back.

Now I'm loth to endure this excruciating procedure repeatedly so a personal workaround is in order.

Personal fix: Disable Arkadius' Trade Tools & LibHistoire globally except for my main characters.

As I already have one main on each server who is the receiver of all valuable loot, all mail, is master crafter, treasure hunter, survey collector and most important in this context: the seller in the guild stores. Ergo these are the only characters that need the trading and guild history add-ons.

The alternative characters bank all valuables after daily crafting and other loot gathering activities, i.e. no trading app is mandatory as they do not trade.

This fix results in minimal error messages and allows me to follow my normal flow through the game.

I'm an optimist so I sincerely hope Monday's patch maintenance will solve this.

It's worse for me today. I tried to do my daily writs and every time I used a crafting station the game locked up and had to be shut down. The only thing that prevented that was to disable ATT and LibHistoire and all their dependencies.

Are there any plans to fix this?

Hope the maintenance tomorrow is going to help fix this, because it's going on for some time now and no fixes. The latest thing that is showing in my guild history is from 5 hours ago. Unacceptable.

It is near impossible to run a guild under these conditions and hearing close to nothing from anyone in charge is quite telling.

Yeah, I really don't know why history just stops being retrieved. Sometimes it's fine, other times the farthest it goes is a few lines and then says "nope". It's so frustrating.
