Should ZOS do another event like the Crafter’s Celebration?

If they put some more thought into the event and come up with better rewards it would be great, but as a first time this is pathetic.

Yes, as for once this event actually promotes crafting! Due to only new writs giving double drops, instead of being an add-on fest where players can spam thousands of writs for double vouchers. ZOS did it right!

They only need to fix the transmute issues properly, and the event will be good.

PS: Remove crafting add-ons, as these completely invalidate the entire crafting part of the game!

If ZOS come up with a solution where they reduce reconstruction cost without a possibility of an infinite loop of transmutes (which they should have seen coming from MILES away if they had people actively playing the game) then it’s worth a repeat for me.

As it is now, this event has zero added value for me. I’d be more content with another explorers event where at least you also get double XP.

It doesn't feel like a event to me, to be honest, but of course it's nice to get more from nodes and an increased amount of writ vouchers. I have nothing against them having these small double drop/currency/mats "events" every now and then.

What I'd find more interesting would be if they made more of all kinds of festivities from TES lore. Tamriel's calendar actually has a quite extensive amount of festivities. And no, I don't want them to neccessarily make big events with event tickets (what people call "event fatigue" is a real issue), but they could at least acknowledge their existence somehow, even if it's just special decorations or one small event quest in the area where the festivity is traditionally celebrated. It would just add to the atmosphere.

It would have been nice if this event had been announced at or before it was actually released, and the information accompanying the announcement was complete and unambiguous.

Announcing it as 100% extra writ vouchers then backtracking and saying actually no, it's just master writs generated during the event. (Whether it was intended this way all along is irrelevant, the first message said 100% extra and led to people doing expensive writs they wouldn't normally have done due to the promised extra wv)

Announcing (then scrapping) the half price reconstruction due to "misuse". Wasn't this play tested at all? Even with a fair use policy this could be seen to give back extra transmutes when a genuinely created item was broken down in the future.

I was excited for this event when I saw the banner at 3pm GMT on Thursday. By dinner time all that was left was extra mats from resources and a chance of increased master writs from daily writs

I know I'm in the minority here but I don't consider increased rewards for normal activities an event. (And yes I know that's the majority of events we get in this game.)

It's nice that the rewards are increased, but it doesn't offer anything new or different to do and it's not going to encourage me to spend more time crafting than I normally would. The best part about it for me is that the endeavours have all been quick and easy to do, so I can get them out the way and spend more time on things I want to do.

So far these weekend events were BGs, I think. So PvP only. This one is targeted at crafters and semi-crafters.

They're useful enough for people to enjoy, but no tragedy to miss. And variety is good, since there will always be a group of players that it would appeal to (if they keep diversifying from now on).

Yes, but it does serve to highlight the strangeness of having transmute cost fixed at 50 normally, while reconstruction costs drop way below that if you have a lot of items in a set.

25 for a basic transmute actually feels closer to what the cost should be all the time, perhaps regardless of how many items you have in a set, but at the very least if you have a fairly full collection!

I don't understand what this event is supposed to do for us.

Back to back events is very tiring and they don't feel special in any way.

What it's doing for me is making it super easy to get my third account's 24 (EU) and 25 (NA) to fifty crafting on everything. Then all I have to do is get them leveled to 50 at Jubilee.

I only have 7 characters that are all max in all the crafts so I guess this is just another "event" I will ignore... like I do most of them.

If your characters are already maxed in crafting, they can still get increased yields from resource nodes (if you like to harvest resource nodes), double the usual writ vouchers on master writs received during the event, and (I think) increased chances of getting back the appropriate tempering materials when deconstructing weapons and armor.
What would have helped me is if this would have included a cut in research times.

I gave up on research years ago but decided to pick it back up and finish on my main crafter. Even with the scrolls it still takes forever. And I never understood why.

That's one of the things I thought about, too-- how it would be nice if the event temporarily increased the rate at which trait research occurs, such as perhaps 2 times the normal rate. Then the rate could go back to normal when the event ends.

    Two aspects about it.

    1. Great concept inbetween events, needs a bit better work on the execution. Not getting double drops on writs but i have been getting better writ pulls.

    2. I feel like alot of the aspects of crafters week could be folded into Zeal of Zenithar and more fitting of the circumstances. Potentially as well they could have items only available during ZOZ that could be bought with crafting tickets only as opposed to the more limited Event tickets.

If they're gonna remove crafting addons, ZoS will need to improve their crafting UI's first.

Double mats doesn't mean much for most of us with maxed crafters.
Surveys are more profitable and can be done at any time.

Sitting on 100k+ of each basic mat type, and 1000's of upgrade mats.
Though some I am out of, but going mat gathering when everyone else is mat gathering is a bad idea.
I'd get more mats when the zones are quiet.

Double writ vouchers from writs only obtained during the event is likewise meaningless.
A few 100 extra doesn't matter. Especially if you've already collected everything with vouchers.

The increased chances of getting mats from decon is apparently a pretty minor increase with people not noticing a difference.

For existing maxed crafters, this event does nothing as it is.

The problem probably is that (time-limited) rewards are linked to them. People want them, need event tickets, and then feel they have to keep pace somehow. I personally don't care that much, and I know that we get a copious amount of tickets each December anyway, so it's no problem to miss a few events. But I see what other people dislike about it.

For existing maxed crafters, this event does nothing as it is.

I ran into the "going mat gathering when everyone else is mat gathering is a bad idea" problem last night. I decided to do the "harvest 5 Blacksmithing ore nodes" endeavor because it would be easy, and while doing other things-- digging up chests from treasure maps and scrying for antiquities-- I deliberately avoided harvesting any ore nodes that I saw because I wanted to go to Craglorn to harvest them. So when I went to Craglorn, everybody and their dog was running around Craglorn farming nodes like crazy. I did manage to get my 5 ore nodes before reset, but it was a near thing-- and I didn't get any nirncrux, either. Turns out I should have just grabbed the ore that I'd seen in the other zones. :)

One thing this event-- and, frankly, every other event-- does do for me is drive home the fact that I desperately need to get and keep a better handle on inventory management. My alts are back to being used primarily as mules for holding excess stuff of various types, and right now most of them have 210 filled slots, leaving only 5 empty slots. That makes doing crafting writs on them a lot more time-consuming than it should be, because they only have enough empty slots to do 2 or 3 writs at a time, so there's a lot of running back and forth between the stations and the crates. Plus, going through the rewards afterward to see who needs which surveys or recipes adds on another few minutes per character. Doing writs on my alts ends up being a time-consuming process that takes a large chunk out of my playing time, which is why I had stopped doing them even though the gold is nice to have on hand. :p

Solution to event fatigue = don't do events . Zos doesn't have to stop giving events just because you don't want to do them. The solution is solved by choosing not to participate. Others do not have to be punished with no events because of people who don't want them.

Event fatigue is a self induced situation and is solved by stepping away from the game, which you already are doing. Self control is important in gaming. Problem is already solved if the player chooses not to participate. You are not harmed by the existence of an event you don't have to do.

well, I also think this event fell flat, and have been complaining about its content too- but no events is not the solution and event fatigue is not a good reason to deny events to others, because event fatigue is a situation that is within the hands of the player not the company. It is a choice to participate or not. Even if it was fun, people would still blame the game for event fatigue when this is in their own hands, not ZOS. ZOS does not make anyone play anything.
