Several pages of discussion about this event in these forums. I'm curious if folks think ZOS should do more events like the Crafter's Celebration.

I love them. It's always appreciated when it's something different from "the usual suspects"!

I realize that the description of the event could use some improvement, and having the half price gear reconstruction removed after the event started is not good. Overall, I think the good outweighs the bad, and I would like to see ZOS do more events like this.

Works for me. I like the event. Its always good to get out and farm some stuff. I got lucky today and got an aetherial dust.

It also shakes things up a little bit. A mild, but enjoyable event.

To add to the above comment, I also actually enjoy occasional surprise events, so this was pretty cool for them to do!

Always fun to have some little perks when you log in. Picked up a handle full of master writs in the limited time I had last night and hope to make more use of the event this weekend.

Hopefully Zos looks more at the engagement in associated activities more so than all the Debbie-downers knot picking things on the forums.

Only after they hire a decent QA, who will protect them from at least the most obvious exploits. Until then, it would be better to have them on the PTS first, so that people playing the game could explain to them in advance what needs to be done for the event to work.

Could do a class-specific event almost every other month, such as:

Sorcs get 2x XP for March and double mat harvesting
Arcanists get 2x XP for May and double mat harvesting
Wardens get 2x XP for July and double mat harvesting
Templars get 2x XP for September and double mat harvesting
Necros get 2x XP for November and double mat harvesting
Nightblades get 2x XP for January and double mat harvesting

Just an example; would get people to dust off their other toons.

I don't understand what this event is supposed to do for us.

Back to back events is very tiring and they don't feel special in any way.

What it's doing for me is making it super easy to get my third account's 24 (EU) and 25 (NA) to fifty crafting on everything. Then all I have to do is get them leveled to 50 at Jubilee.

Bonus loot and exp are always good. It allows players progress faster if they want.
Those who are against it - feel free to avoid any part of the event you don't like. It is not mandatory, isn't it?

Some parts of the current event might be described better of tested more careful... well, I guess, devs got their experience too :)
I believe they tried their best to make something surprisingly good for us. Thanks to them.

If they make reconstruction cost 12 Transmute Crystals (and giving back 12) it's a lovely event, imo.

Usually during Explorer Celebration Events I grind XP and don't really farm materials - I feel I miss out on something either way.
With this dedicated event for crafting I am trying to pile up as many materials I can, so I appreciate double drops and this kind of things.
Also: 100% more crafting inspiration is always welcome, even when I don't take advantage of it - I felt the struggle of leveling all professions, so it's nice seeing a helping hand on that side to new players/characters.

If they can iron out the details and give people notice, absolutely. I support the core idea, but it needs to reward the long-time players and dedicated crafters.

    Let's take two hypothetical events.

    Flash event: "Harvester's Holiday".
There are some people who enjoy the surprise events. Keep it simple - double inspiration and double drops from nodes.

    Announced event: "Crafter's Celebration".
This event should have both double inspiration and node yields, and also address a few key pain points.
    1. Gearing up characters takes too long due to high reconstruction costs.
    2. Deconstruction refunds don't line up to reconstruction costs unless stickerbook is completed.
    3. Players amass Master Writs in anticipation of some targeted event.
    4. Players amass Surveys in anticipation of some targeted event.

    Solution:
    1. Have reconstruction costs and deconstruction refunds aligned; 10 transmute stones each way during the event. Have warning message if deconstructing an item reconstructed before the event.
    2. All Master Writs complete during the event granted +100% vouchers.
    3. All survey nodes are double yield.

ZOS basically needs to accept that not including Master Writs and Survey is having the opposite effect they want. If you want database strain to be reduced, give us an incentive to empty them out. Obviously the daily incentive isn't enough.

Yes. There was some hiccups that need to be sorted out with this particular event for next time. But, this event overall is a nice bonus. And since there's no event tickets, you're not really missing out on anything by skipping it, if it's not your cuppa.

Maybe we'll get a fishing event at some point in which we might have a chance to bring up any one of the various wrecked boats/ships found throughout Tamriel for housing and other stuff such as a sunken treasure, double chance for perfect roe, and maybe a peg-leg leg style, a pipe emote

Not all events have to feel special. Useful is just as appealing, and a Crafter's Celebration is very useful indeed.

There are too many events already, it seems like hardly a week goes by without one. If the main benefit of an event is not that it adds something new but rather it speeds up an existing part of the game then I don't see the need for it to clutter up the event calendar even more.

I always have something to do too. Because not all of my characters are max level. Really.... max level characters aren't all that much fun for me. I don't do group content of any kind,; I don't like dungeons,. So once I'm done with a chapter, the max level girls craft for writ vouchers, and that's about it.

And that's where my lowbies come in. Always something to do on them!

While I agree with those that say there are just too many events, I don't mind ones like this where I don't have to go out of my way to do specific quests and get event tickets. I just play the way I normally do and get a little extra when I gather a resource, do a master writ, or do a survey.

(But I'd like to see the number of events decreased. It seems there are more and more, and it really does make them feel meaningless. My participation in them has dropped to doing the bare minimum to get the daily event tickets.)

Yes, assuming they can get it to work and communicate the bonuses clearly in-game. It’s not the event as a concept that’s the problem, it’s the bits that broke or don’t work the way the announcement says they work.

As the event stands, it doesn't offer much for many players, IMO.

Many who aren't in need of reconstructing enough sets for the 50% reduction to be worthwhile.

2x writ vouchers from writs obtained only during the event too isn't going to be many.

Outside of those it doesn't really offer any benefits for crafters specifically.
(2x mat events are pretty common during other events. Inspiration is only good for new crafters.)

Nice for those who like it but for me and others, we have no use for it as it is.

So my vote should be an abstain since I don't care for the event either way, but I feel that ZoS could do more for some of us who are otherwise excluded with events.

For example double writ vouchers for all writs would be one nice thing to look for, if a bit unbalanced to us hoarders.
Zeal of Zenithar was originally a good idea for it by giving some other rewards, but ZoS changed that, even though the rewards from ZoZ weren't that over rewarding in the first place.

What would have helped me is if this would have included a cut in research times.

I gave up on research years ago but decided to pick it back up and finish on my main crafter. Even with the scrolls it still takes forever. And I never understood why.
