Templar rework

The only thing I want to be rework is the Restoration light skill, the entire abilities and make the spend cost less and add a over time as well.

ZOS gave Templars another heal over time (thankfully answering my request). The armor buff now adds a heal over time. Combined with the Ritual skill, that's two HOTs going at once. And then there's Living Dark which is like a third HOT. Healing is definitely not an area of concern for Templars. There are some skills and passives that seem pretty worthless though.

What he said. Templars are amongst the strongest healers in the game, and if you think differently, you just aren't doing it right. The only reason templars aren't more desirable in a group setting is because they offer very few group buffs compared to a Warden or Arcanist, and they don't offer the utility of a Necro (necro res, Major vulnerability). But I've never had my templar healer turned down in a trial setting because the healing is just too valuable.

IMO, the Restoring Light skill line's main issue is with its Passives.
    • Mending is rather limited in usefulness. It only buffs Restoring Light heals and scales pretty poorly. It basically is worthless 80% of the time when allies are mostly healthy and only helps Rushed Ceremony in a pinch, which experienced players aren't using as much. mostly dead.
    • Sacred Ground is good. It basically encompasses all of Templars identity atm and having Minor Mending is great given the rarity of that buff (for now). It makes Templar interesting in form and function and gameplay.
    • Light Weaver is too harsh with the 50% restriction and barely ever procs, ever. dead.
    • Master Ritualist is an old 2014 design that isn't useful in 2024 ESO. dead.

    For specific Skills,
    • Healing Ritual and Rushed Ceremony are both boring and limited. They don't offer much and are mostly just pure heals; which are not that useful.
    • Radiant Aura is a bit behind. The sustain buffs it provides are not really 2024 designed. These can all be sourced from other classes already and does not make Templar as unique and desirable as it used to be.
    • Cleansing Ritual is OK, but its power is weighted pretty heavily on the ally purge synergy. The healing ticks every 2 seconds feels too slow though. Plus, the cost is prohibitively high. Having to recast this multiple times to move the circle, or just get more then 5 debuffs removed, is exponsive
    • Rune Focus is good. The Major Resolve is great and I like that the healing is greater now while standing in the circle. I like that the two morphs are split on Magicka vs Stamina sustain, but I'm not sure why Channeled Focus gets lower Healing. Also, looking at ZOS's Siphoning Attacks change on PTS makes me sad. They get both Magicka AND Stamina AND Heal for no cost at all. With Hybridization, I wonder if Rune Focus could be updated to restore BOTH Magicka and Stamina.

Oh, and the Ultimate is trash tier. It's just the worst. It may have limited usefulness in PvP, but it's a 2014 design and totally trash in PvE.

Overall, Restoring Light focuses way too much on pure heals with little else stapled to it. The whole skill line is heavily out of balance with most of the weight being pulled by 2-3 effects (Rune Focus, Cleansing Ritual purge specifically, and Sacred Ground). More then half of the Skill line is completely dead.

I believe that at least the rushed ceremony should be a over time abilities like how dk,warden have especially when consider it cost a lot of magic to use, it really need a change.

Changes to passives in every skill trees could be good start for templar. Most passives are just useless compared to other class passives. Passive with soul gem especially is just roleplaying passive that should be changed.

Now this is a good point. The templar's weakness is the lack of group utility compared to the Warden or even the Necro (not even addressing the arcanist, which I have yet to play and which I know brings a ton of group buffs too). They're strong in the healing department but weak in group utility, which is an issue I would like to see them address. It doesn't even necessarily need to come out of the healing tree as I think minor sorcery comes from using dawns wrath abilities, but just the templar something else that makes it mesh better with group play overall other than vanilla healing.
