Fighters Guild, First Boss lady impossible to kill solo.

I just hate having to ungroup for any reason. :C I don't see why people can solo group content if they want, but I can't group for 'solo' content. I have very limited free time and like playing mmos with my boyfriend. That's it. I don't want encounters to be any easier. I respect people who like a challenge. I just want to be able to play cooperatively with whoever in a game that was described as Elder Scrolls with friends, not Elder Scrolls with friends sometimes except for solo quests and boss encounters woo. If I want good solo content, I play single player games. *sighs*

I killed her first try in beta. I loved the fight, it forced me to react / think. YOu have to take out the glowing orbs before they reach Doshia, they heal her. If you destroy them, I think they heal you instead (I was too busy to take notice during the fight). As a ranged damage dealer, this was not too difficult. I imagine it's more difficult for certain class / weapon combinations.

My tank survived it due to my build being almost created against here it seemed. It took me a lot of time for sure and those balls were really annoying but once I learned what they do and what I need to do, it was a lot easier.

Then again, like I said, my build gave me the opportunity to survive it all and finish her off in the first try. I could imagine her being somewhat hard to fight against if you are a class cannon.

Definitely the trick is to either outdamage her orbs which is incredibly hard or keep an eye out on them and destroy them as soon as you seem them approach. This is not the first time I have seen the ball mechanic being used by a boss.

There is at least one dungeon boss that will heal and deal double the damage if they won't be destroyed prior of them reaching the boss so expect more of those mechanics.

Pull her out of the cramped alcove so there's a greater distance between Doshia and where the Feasts spawn.

Is there a trick to pulling her? It seems like if Im running away she will follow me out but if Im trying to pull her to the next room she ALWAYS leashes.

The Developers got a wee bit heavy on the boss self-healing skills. The best way in my opinion is to out-level them.

[I don't want the game to get easier then it is. But It's inevitable since posts like this will become more common after actual launch day.[/quote]

The problem is....well...yes... most players are rather average and play for fun, rather than for challenge, and that includes me. A Solo quest (in my opinion) ought to be reasonably solo-able. At the moment the so called Solo-Boss fights are not. So yes...we are continuing to mention it until things change.

And what if they do not change? Well... I for one will ignore such quests.

It's not all that difficult (especially for someone using a bow) when you get the hang of the fight. I remember getting annihilated a few times before figuring it out on my sword and board DK. Actually, after I beat her down, I thought it was an awesome fight. Remember WoW where everything was tank and spank till you hit top level, and then you generally got completely blind-sided by "combat mechanics"? I think it's really awesome seeing TESO getting you ready for what's to come.

Don't forget to use the Fighter's Guild skill Silver Bolts. It causes a knockdown effect on Daedra. I just kept knocking her on her snake butt and had no trouble.
  • immari1941
I beat her after 4 tries circling around and sprinting to destroy the orbs at level 11. I found that circling around her worked wonders.

Kill the balls before they get to her, AOEs work well here, keep her in center of room because the healy balls of annoyance pop in the corners, gives you a few seconds to down them all. OOOR just wait and outlevel it and go back.

What he said. I died twice trying to solo it until I reliazed I had to kill the stupid ball thingies once I did that she was pretty easy and I am level 9 atm

As soon as she summons the feasts or is about to summon the feasts, pull her away as far as you can. It gives you the time you need to kill them before they reach her. Also, if you kill them they heal you rather than her.

You are a bow user, kiting is your friend. I had no trouble beating this of level as a melee character, I would think having ranged options to take out the feasts would make it even more doable.

You can also line of sight her aoe ability. Burn her down, wait for orbs, kill orbs, widdle her down, avoid AOE, repeat. Ranged attacks help you to avoid her AOE

Probably has been said many times before.

Ignore her summons, keep smacking on her untill she does her ultimate attack. When that happens, 4-5 bubbles will appear and slowly move towards her. Stop what you're doing and IMMEDIATELY start hitting those bubbles. If the bubbles get to her, they start healing her. If you kill them, they heal you instead. Was able to beat her this time at level 8.

Some of us are unable to get the knack of kiting. I've tried a number of different things with harvesters. They are too difficult for me to solo. I don't think 'nerfing' is the answer. The devs can and should allow the option to group if they really want to come through with their promise of being able to 'play how you want'.

Yes this mob was not tough for a pet class imo compared to everyone else as I ran deadric summoning sorcy in beta, and took me a minute to see why she was rocking my husband on his DK. On launch he went Templar, and I had no pet this time around.. it was tough but once got hang of how important it was to make sure those globes die > damaging her you see she barely hurts you in snake form, vrs how much she takes in heals.... but still shes way harder than the mage guild counterpart quest.

Not unbeatable though by any means. But not on par with the same Mage guild quest line difficulty. IMO

You just have to conserve your mana/stamina while attacking her then wait until she unleashes her orbs and go apeshit on those orbs.

I just finished this quest with a bow at lvl 32. takes a lot of foot work but its do able.

Well, I am a pure-DPS sorceress. No pets. That puts me in the same boat as you I imagine, since you seem to be pure-DPS ranged too.

She does VERY LITTLE damage in melee range, so this is what I did to beat her:
    * Stay within melee range of her, dodging any major looking attacks.
    * Since you're so close to her, you can easily kill her floating orbs fast.
    * Without her orbs she can't heal, and since she does little damage, end of story.

If you do get low HP, sprint up the rocks and around the pillar to buy yourself some time to use a health potion. Her orbs also seem to heal you, so you could use that to your advantage if the situation seems appropriate.

It took me a couple deaths to figure this out, but after that she was EXTREMELY easy to kill. I was level 9 when I did this.

Oh, and this is the INTRO to such mechanics. Later bosses use the same mechanic, only they also become stronger, not just healed, by the orbs they summon.

Yeah, so... get used to some FUN fight mechanics.

I think this is sarcasm, but honestly I did find it fun.

I'm so used to normal MMO strategy: Boss is too hard? Okay, level up a bit and buy items off the auction house. Now boss is easy.

I think too many people are used to strategy meaning better stats in the character sheet, and don't want to change.

no really the quest leading up to this have bosses with similar abilities. you have to know how to handle them and adapt to changes. just standing in place hitting something isn't going to get you anywhere. this fight in particular makes you move a lot to avoid damage etc. Its not just about stats or the gear you have. Its a game play it how you want to thats what its all about.

I'll be honest. I don't even remember what she does.
I do remember her visually, and I do remember that she was one of the very few encounters so far that made me drink a potion, but I do not even recall her having anything special that makes her hard (healing orbs).
But then again, I'm a sword/shield using templar, so I'm dishing out lots of AoE damage anyways, so I guess that might be the reason.
I did the exact same thing I've done to beat every other encounter in this game so far.

Step out of everything that leaves a red area on the ground, block everything that is telegraphed by a charging animation, and whack her with full dps during everything else.

Oh, I find it fun. It's more of a commentary on the complaint of the difficulty of the encounter; they're going to have 'fun' if they think this, the big intro to this kind of boss mechanic, is too difficult.

Took me several tries. Grouped up, because I thought, maybe that was the best bet - then googled the forums up to find out it's a solo only.

Dual-wield Nightblade, and I finally just pulled her to the centre of the room so I could eyeball the orbs coming in - everyplace else seemed to spawn at least one of them right on top of her and them, boom! She was at full health again. :|

Was smooshed by the zombie summons - which at least let me focus on just beating HER up. Stuns, DoT's and, other than that, just beating the snot out of her and hitting the blasted orbs. On the bright side, with the orbs, I didn't have to worry about healing to much. Oh, and a food - or was it a drink? Something, to boost helped as well.

Frankly, even then I was doing a lot of 'bloody hell' and 'oh my god, no friggin' way', and so on, it was very enjoyable, strictly for being a challenge. And I'm not, really, a hard core gamer - I have far to short of an attention span for that - but I ADORE a challenge. Not the kind of stuff that restricts itself to a VERY small percentage of the player population, either. This kind of thing was very cool.

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned but the fight got severely nerfed compared to the beta.

On live, the healing orbs are now moving extremely slowly and i was able to pop them with a single light attack. In beta, they moved fast and took two hits to kill, whih made it impossible to kill them all before they could heal the boss back to full.

I entered this fight yesterday as a level 11 fully expecting to get trashed, and was surprised how easy it was.

Its possible to dodge roll the move that stuns you and creates the orbs. Not easy, but possible to avoid it entirely.

The balls die in one hit from pretty much anything. If you're range just spin around and toss a left click at each of them, or if you're melee then wait until they get close and just kill them all at once with an AOE. DK talons works great for this, for example.

Doshia's not really a boss since she's basically just a regular mob that you're going to see a lot later at higher levels called a Harvester. Get used to fighting them now.

Please if for any reasons you can't do something, it doesn't mean that others can't.
There is some optional 'hard' content (stress the quotes) that you can do with a little bit of effort. Don't ask for the game to be dumbed down please. Don't do the quests, get better at playing or whatever. But the game has already been severely nerfed from beta to the point I start to wonder if it's worth it
