Oh... springerle! I love them.... I haven't made any in years because i was the only one who loved them and jeez - even after giving them to friends there were too many for me to eat (at least, too many without weighing I don't even want to think how much....)

Have you tried freezing them? I’ve found they keep quite well that way, my family usually takes out a dozen or so at a time and the rest are kept in the freezer until the dozen is eaten up, rinse and repeat. You might end up eating them for a while that way, but it won’t have to be all at once, which helps with the waistline!

Since this topic is non ESO related it should also be closed, right?

It was in fact closed down. Maybe it should be reopened at this point with the nature of this post.

She was obliquely targeting THIS thread....

    targeting how?

@ClowdyAllDay is this not a Christmas tree?

clearly its a yultide or solstice tree

Yes, the tree is from the pagan side of Christmas (representative of fertility, and used during Yuletide) in the same manner that the fertility symbols of the rabbit and egg were introduced into Easter. Pre-existing pagan celebrations were incorporated into Christian celebrations as a way to expand the religion and consolidate more people under the umbrella of the RCC.

    Only in name.

Since it lacks any Christian iconography (the star or angel at the top), it loses any symbolism it has in relation to Christianity.

It was an oblique request to the mods to close this thread as well as the other one.

Oh! It never occurred to me to freeze them! Okay, you win the internet for the day, thanks! Now I can eat a few whenever I like - well.... after we eat all the other stuff around here. And also after I actually find my molds and make a batch!

[Hmm. Rolling pin.... what a GREAT idea. Thank you once more!]

One of the things things year I did was make my first attempt at a snowberry crostata from the Elder Scrolls cookbook. It didn't come out like I wanted it to come out. 😭 I'm just learning how to make this type of food as I'm more of a cooker than a baker. But it tasted just fine!

This looks so good I need it right now :'(

I was surprised to see that one locked.

Yeah it’s not game related but it was someone in our community who was probably alone for the holidays and was just reaching out.

The spirit of the season is to be kind even if you are not religious. Would it have hurt to just not read that post?

Exactly. Too bad there is not more consistency and compassion around here from the management.

Turn about for info, then! Yes, I have my great-great-grandmother's molds (somewhere) - she brought them with her when she emigrated from Hamburg Germany. Here's a great site for info (though it's not as easy to use as "more modern" sites):

    Greetings,

As this thread has continued to derail with baiting and flaming comments, despite our previous message, we have decided to close it down. Please remember that while it’s alright to disagree or even debate with each other, provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable on our forums.

    Thank you for your understanding.
