Saving treasure map locations

Anyone come up with a good way to save treasure map locations on xbox? I have taken images and with the new OneDrive upload am starting to name the files but you can't view this while playing easily. Thanks.

I recently installed an offline add-on for this, well... I printed all the important zone's treasure map locations! B)

If you are on PC use the MapPins add-on it has settings allowing for the toggle to show treasure maps (in your inventory) and all sort of other wold locations.

    Get it Here

If not on PC use Game maps Web site

    Here

Phone seems the most usable solution.

The real question is.. why should you need to use an outside source for something in game?
Don't get me wrong, I use my tablet, or edge on the Xbox browser if I need to search for a location. But that's because there is no other practical way. I've said this before, but if you find a map once it should have an indicator (account wide for my preference) the next time you pick one up.

And as an aside.. not everyone does have a mobile phone, or they share one!

I get where he's coming from. I just destroy most maps because it's a pain to find the chests. Even looking up the location online, it takes time and then I still have to find the location on my screen. Map pin would do it, but of course the consoles don't have addons.

i usually use the lost treasure addon for maps/surveys

i agree it would be painful to try to do maps or surveys without the addon though

Gave solutions for both PC add-on and Consoles for Web site since OP posted question on a website. Also some XBox's can use MS Edge browser.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had figured you get logged out of the game when going into another app like the Edge browser. I am able to access the treasure map location images this way. Will give this a try. Thanks!

my guess is that for the console, going to another app just pauses the one your in, or kind of like alt+tab if your on PC

so it will log you out if you leave it alone for too long due to the games auto-timeout (~15 min)

The tricky part on console is that spot indicated on the treasure map is pretty large compared to what it would be if it were a map pin on PC. You see it on a fully zoomed out zone map. You can spend 10 minutes circling around to find the right spot.

ZOS could definitely add a map pin function to the game, and it would be a huge boon to console and PC players. When they added the sky shards function to the maps, I had hopes they would expand on this idea with further updates and add survey spots, treasure chests, and even antiques locations once they had been found. Sadly, we are left out in the cold. I was really hoping something like this was added with the quarter 3 update last year.

    Stay safe :)

If game box players want all the bells and whistles that PC players have, they can play on PC. The game was designed to be a PC game.

It was also made without add-ons. So maybe all the addons should be disallowed so that you can experience the game as it is meant to be played, rather than with the additional cheats!

I don't even think it needs to require me manually placing markers; though I suppose that would work assuming they won't be cleared AND I have an unlimited number I can use... However, I see no reason the game can't save the location on my map after you have traveled there once before with a Survey/Map.

ZOS, don't treat it like an adventure when you hardcoded the Chest/Survey locations. This isn't Antiquity dig sites, we KNOW where all the locations are set in stone.

lol? It was designed with the API to support addon development, it’s not pc players’ fault you chose an inferior platform to play the game on.

Oh, and if addons are cheating, isn’t looking up a location in your browser cheating too?

Eso runs on my 7 year old pc with similar or even better graphics than my Xbox. The Xbox is just a more relaxed way to play.
After ploughing a lot of money into ESO on the one system I'm not doing it again on another.

An add-on alters or adds to the code in some way. Looking something up externally doesn't.

I get that those on PC have gotten used to the crutch of add ons.
Add ons aren't strictly cheats, but they do give an advantage.

As for inferior. I've seen some potato PC's out there!!

You can check out these apps but they've not been updated lately (neither has the Necrom update):
Android - ESO Helper - (last update was Firesong)
iPhone - ESO App Lite (last update Deadlands and High Isle)

You can also check the UESP ESO map - (no app required)

It was actually designed with a basic UI that PC players (who made up the beta population) could mod as was the tradition with TES games. That was one of the key demands from players. It was unfortunate that when the console version came out the platform providers didn't allow mods.

I say all that as a PC player who has not used a single mod in ESO, and only one Skyrim mod (which I hated and immediately removed) in the TES games which I've played from the first one onwards. Nor do I ever alt-tab out of any game or keep browsers open when playing games.

I, on the other hand, mod games to a fare-thee-well, always have always will. There are things that I expect game UI to provide, and most of them only do so with mods. In fact, I'm still playing Skyrim and Oblivion (along with ESO - that goes without saying) because of all the player made quest mods, house mods, armor mods, UI mods (no cheat mods - uh.... well, I guess my way OP bow in Skyrim could be considered a cheat....) etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam.

Thank the Divines for mod makers!

Game-maps has some high res maps that you can download (right click and save) from their website.
You can easily view these files on any mobile phone for quick reference. No internet connection or browser or anything else required.

Its easy and straightforward. I don't see any reason to clutter the game UI, only to accomodate players who are unwilling to use out of game reference sources and material. It really seems unnecessary.

I don’t refuse the use them , I actually do use them.

The problem is the area in which you have to look for the treasure chest on the maps is about like doing antiquities without using the eye to find the mound, and just running around the area looking for the glowing chest. Except the chest isn’t glowing, and the area isn’t automatically highlighted in the game.

I had to look it up, because I didn't know, either, although I could tell from the background that it was at a QuakeCon:

Edit: Oops, it was BlizzCon. What I thought was the Q from QuakeCon was actually part of a "Q & A" backdrop.
