    I wouldn't mind class changes. I main a warden for over 5 years and did a large amounts of quests with him but after awhile I got bored and wanted a different feel then what I had before. Now for sentimental reasons I will never get rid of him since I managed to do a lot of harder content with him and I recently got back into the game and started a new dk to play with. However starting with a new character meant all the skill lines and skill abilities needed to be re-leveled from the ground up which unfortunately happens with a new character. I have a bunch of alts for crafting reasons so I know I can jump on another class I made if I find the one I'm playing with to feel underwhelming. I normally don't because I made quest progress with my current characters and don't feel like doing them again with another. Pretty much the main reason why I'm for class changes since while I grow attached to certain characters after a while and don't want them to change their style, other players want to keep their overall progress in zones without having to redo everything but feel the class their playing isn't fun anymore for one reason or another.

    One thing I wish though was if there was a in game preview of the class skill lines before you choose your class. Now granted you can argue that you can look up the skill lines online before choosing a class but honestly from a newer player perspective I would probably have more confidence in the class I'm choosing if I had a good understanding as to the permanent decision I'm making for the character while I'm making a character. It would help me understand that some classes have more mitigation options while others have better damage or healing options.

    I wish the character creation process got updated with something like this. For example you hit create character and the game immediately creates one (a nameless, classless, raceless prospect) and you enter the game.

    You're in a room and able to walk around, there's basic gear, the full class toolkit is unlocked with free respec capability open for morphs and there is some infinite archive like boss you can fight to get a feel for the class. Maybe you can lose health but not die, and combat ends on leaving the well-marked combat area.

    You can go to something like an outfit station to change race, class and all the usual character creation stuff at any time. This is also automatically saved to the prospect character similar to how changes to normal characters work in game. So getting booted as AFK doesn't undo everything just because you have a moment of indesision.

    Also this allows you to see what your character actually looks like in play. This would be especially of interest on appearance change token use for existing characters as you could try diferent collectibles and so on.

    Me *personally?* No. I'm sure like many others, through my time here I've made Alts, and have one of each class. Every character has had a story put into them and their class has a part in it, so changing their classes would just mess things up and confuse me

    I still do wish though we just had no class and the current classes was just 'Archtypes' you could pick skills and stuff out from and run whatever you want, of course if it was to be done now it'd need one hell of a rebalance.

    That's great for YOU but most people prefer to play with one character. I have 5k plus hours and I still prefer to play my 1 character - all of my alts are levelled and I never touch them because I don't have the same connection to them.

Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

    This would be nice to have, I have all character slots filled, all are maxed level (CP 1850+) except for the last two which are the new Arcanist Class. So funny that I'm reading this today because I just deleted last night, one of three Nightblades so I could reroll for another Warden, I have two now but this Nightblade had a ton of skill points :'( but was low on mount speed/etc so I choose that one.

    I don't think they'll ever bring us a change of class option but I said the same thing about changing your faction.

    I would love to change my class. ZoS has totally ruined necro. Though don’t know how I would feel about paying to change my main char class just because ZoS don’t like the class enough to fix it. Class change tokens won’t happen as well - means less of a reason to level up a new toon. So therefore less of a reason to get caught in the crown store.

    Create new toon. Oh want to quickly get sky shards? Crown store. Want to unlock and max level a skill line? Crown store. Oh you want more armour or costume slots? Crown store.

    They would need to make a change class token very expensive to make up the loss in crown sales. At which point it would throw off any gamer.

    At least that’s how I would be thinking of i was them.

    There really should be a class change or frankly no classes at all, but I've levelled so many characters to 50, fully horse trained, trait researched etc. and deleted because I've no alternative if I eg. want to play new classes that I've stopped doing a lot of things on alts (like learning any motifs) because there's a good chance it's a complete waste of time which will go up in smoke when I end up deleting them.

    Seriously, I only have one character. I've had others and usually delete them after spending the time, gold, and effort on making a build for them. I have zero desire to actually commit to multiple characters when my current one has riding fully trained, all the skyshards, guild/world lines unlocked, crafting leveled, recipes learned, motifs known, and multiple outfit slots. Now, years ago.... I thought sorc was the perfect class for me. For awhile it was, but now it's just not a very good time and the things I used to love about it are now things I can't stand. It's time for my khajiit to adapt a new style of combat, please.

    meh, but theres a lot of other grinding to do to fill out a toon - mages guild, fighters guild, undaunted. you can casually say you have time for it all but im a husband and caretaker and playing mages guild for the 9th time is boring AF. then recipes, motifs, craft research...i mean i dont play my main templar EVER except for writs, crafting, and basic event farming. but im not giving up all the grind i did on him.

    just let THREE SKILL LINES ffs. i can change alliance, buy all sorts of other skill lines and sky shards and whatever else. i just need to swap 3 skill lines. give me my skill points. leveling those back up *is* fast and easy, but all the other stuff? ugh

    Classes are a part of the character, and is the one thing that should not be changeable. However, one could argue that If there were no classes, one would be able to reset all skill points and do whatever.

    In addition to not being able to change class, CP per account should not be universal, but be capped at 160 so one can wear all the 160 gear. Being that CP is account-wide already, it would be a controversial thing to make this change.. However, the game may have erred in making max CP accountwide (I know, difficult to wrap your brain around now).

    So much work goes into the classes - which effects npcs, companions, etc etc, that changing the entire system to not have classes would be a huge programming task.

    Otherwise classes should not be changeable.
    However, one last note...if it will make $$$ in the crown store...and we all know that it would...a 'class change' token for 20,000 crowns is not out of the question despite the fact that players may generally be against the premise.

    Some of us may remember leveling up characters to max Veteran level through the more difficult Cadwell's Silver and Gold. For those who do not remember - everything in Cadwell's Silver and Gold was MUCH more difficult to kill - it was like overland content became almost as difficult as a dungeon. Account-Wide Max CP, and the premise of an additional class change options seems counter-intuitive to the premise in an mmo of providing a sense of accomplishment and expertise with getting a character to a maximized state.

    Games like FFIVX, that allow one to change class, etc, are appealing, and there may be a desire to copy what other games do. However, this is Elder Scrolls. It is supposed to be difficult. Other games have also fired their own nests by simply giving everything away to everyone rather than offering the whiners a box of Kleenex. Things like fast travel and flying mounts seem to sometimes negate the social aspect of running into other people in the game world. In addition, other things like offering crafting stations in housing and all kinds of amenities one is required to use in the game world seem to cheapen the game and the accomplishment of gaining access to things. Again, in an MMO, the social interaction...of seeing other players actually doing things on the map and not in their own housing, or passing and meeting people during travel, etc etc...seems to promote the premise of a populated mmo world, etc. (if they would put enchanting stations and things in the overland set crafting stations, this would not be such a big deal...but having to go somewhere else to finish making a set is a real pain)

    In an MMO, drastic character changes seem to require some kind of 'cost' for the reward - such as a setback of some kind...like loss of skyshards and lorebooks, or loss of world/guild progress (basically a start over), in addition to a requirement to re-level all class skills. If some such penalty existed, perhaps even a crown store easy-peazy class change might be a viable thing. Perhaps characters would only keep racial, weapon, and armor skill levels, but still have to reobtain the skyshards, and other skill lines, etc.

    That'd be a quick and effective way to get a bunch of players to quit because the audacity they'd have to have to do that. I mean, seriously.... charging real money, especially 20,000 crowns, for something and then taking away unrelated things (skyshards/lorebooks, like you used as an example) is just, well, completely unreasonable. I can already see that being the final straw for a lot of people and their respect/patience for Zenimax.

    Many people also play this game because it is a bit more casual and doesn't have as much of an endgame grind/catchup mechanics.... I'd say the fact that CP is account wide is one of the few things that keeps this game worth playing.

    There's nothing difficult about "maxing" a character. It's just tedious and time consuming, and some people simply don't like to have multiple characters. And even in FFXIV, every job aka class one chooses to play needs to be leveled so....

Make it make sense.

    But I personally think if they did add class change tokens, the "cost" other than crowns (and nothing in this game should cost 20,000 crowns, that's absolutely wild) should be needing to have maxed the class beforehand since actual leveling isn't really why people want such a thing to begin with.... it's the idea of a character they want to treat as a "main" or focus on not having all the motifs learned, crafting recipes known, quests complete, etc. And again, some people just don't want multiple characters long-term at all (like myself).

    You might be one of the people receiving a half a box of tissues. lol. I am kidding. What a class change might cost in the crown store, or how it would work in game is debatable - I was simply throwing some ideas out there but it is something to keep in mind. Considering the fact that class change is something that is not available, has never been available, and is a novelty in serious mmo type games, consequence/rewards for such a thing is not a moot discussion. You are on the side of wanting something for nothing - but many who grind and appreciate that element (although at times tedious and frustrating) of accomplishment may agree with me more than you. Accomplishments are a badge of honor in a game like eso. People sink hundreds and thousands of hours into the game for both adventure and advancement. Simply getting something for nothing can be deemed as offensive. I agree that ZOS would not want to upset everyone, and thus the idea of class change is probably best not even attempted because half will want it, and half wont, then everyone can be upset because they don't feel that it is implemented in the way think it should be done. Doing something like this is most likely a lose/lose for the brand. But, it makes for an interesting discussion and reflection. And who knows - as mmo games age...they keep giving away things for free or in a cash shop that others had to earn in game - so I guess one can never say never.
