Necro is a forgotten class

The class has needed major reworks ever since being added in 2019 yet the only two major things that have been significantly improved in the last 4 years are the stam scythe and blastbones jumping to a target. It's strange to see such a barren class get mostly ignored patch after patch while other classes with complete, synergistic kits get consistent buffs or beneficial reworks. When necro has even been mentioned in patch notes, it has almost always been unnecessary nerfs, like the already mediocre skeleton mage getting doubly nerfed by having its damage halved and duration increased by 4s as part of the dot rework. It's not a dot, the aoe portion is tiny, it doesn't get buffed by the necro dot passives or sets like deadly strike, and you aren't even able to chose who the skeleton targets.

Of course while other classes are getting strong and interesting class sets in the new update, necro's class set only gives two already easily available, generic defensive buffs (which necro doesn't even need since their defensive kit has never been the problem) and the ability to have the tethers actually work like normal skills that other classes already have access to. Never mind that the siphons have such a tiny radius that they're never going to hit anything after being casted on yourself unless you're right on top of an enemy. Casting mortal coil on yourself is nice but not worth sacrificing a 5 piece set for just to have one skill work consistently like other class' hots.

    Can't even use the tethers on your self corpse. Check the "known issues" section of the notes.

    Don't even have hopes that they'll fix that before live, so the only interesting part of the set is worthless.

    The whole set seems worthless. It incentivizes you to slot Bone Tyrant abilities, one of which (totem) gives you Minor Protection. You probably get Minor Resolve from vigor. So 2/3 of the 5pc bonus is completely nullified. And for me personally I am swimming in corpses already. Don't really see the usefulness of the self corpse thing. Very dull 2-4pc bonuses. Just all around a wet blanket of a set.

    Yeah it's a joke, especially the minor protection from the set, like..do they even look at necromancer abilites? Bone totem already gives that buff.

    Thats the thing. Most of this is either in its class kit or easily available. Damn why couldnt they give em a set that buffs dps. They need it desperately. They are completely relegated to support.. its really a shame because the class has so much potential..

    Absolutely terrible class.
    Weak, worthless skills, clunky and buggy.
    Even the new class set for it is rubbish.
    Also, STILL NO MAJOR SORCERY / BRUTALITY LMAO

    Only reason to run it right now is trial comp pretty much:

    - EC/MA/MK support dps

    Or

    - OT for sax/colossus

    Makes a pretty decent healer in some comps.

    I fear that ZOS will take only part of the necro feedback and give it major brutality/sorcery and call it a day. The bad part with that is great we have that buff but the offensive skills still suck and aren’t worth slotting so we gained nothing.

    Don't worry, most of the player base has as well. I can play pvp for several hours, multiple days in a row, and I'll be lucky if I see 1 necromancer, meanwhile I see hundreds of dragonknights running around in perma corrosive one shotting everything

    They need more than major brutality/sorcery. The skeletal minion needs a damage buff, with an effect attached to it, even something as simple as minor berserk would make it worth slotting. Bone totem needs to be fixed to stun on the first tick. The damage tethers need to just be completely reworked.     Yeah it’s really crazy how much help Necro needs. I would rather ZOS focus on fixing/adjusting the current abilities and make them better and smoother.

    That’s what I’m concerned about as well if necro gets any updates. It needs a complete overall of most of the kit and having basic buffs is only a starting point.

    Skill lines need to be completely redone. Off the top of my head

    Gravelord ultimate should be an undead pet - skeleton to zombie/skele-mage-lich. Walk into town with it you get KOS.
    Bone Tyrant ultimate should be a lich form that lasts as long as you keep it on with +/- to various stats and bonuses. Again KOS to guards
    I hate the graphics for wonky tomb stones appearing all over the place, blast bones is stupid, the colossus is dumb. Give them the pull into the ground like Canonreeve Oraneth Necrotic Circle, Necrotic Stab, Defiled Ground with Soul Rupture etc
    Get rid of the temporary summons. Have more siphons and debuffs

    Yeah Necro needs a rework- cool stuff like 'when blast bones blows up, get brutality' or somethign to help it play into its corpse needs. or have tethers proc something as you drain it for power.

    I am so disappointed.
    I was ridiculously excited when necro was announced.
    It SHOULD be my main. I want it to be my main, but the class is so bad that playing it just feels like griefing. It is an awful class and for some reason, it is being continually ignored.

    It sucks so much that I am playing the game far less. Those crown crates with the necromancer throne and the lich crystals memento? I would've sunk a goodly amount of money to get my hands on those but nope, why bother? I don't feel like punishing myself by playing necro just because it is thematically and aesthetically cool.

    I am a stam sorc main now. Its fine.
    Struggling to find a new class to call home.Please send help.

    Totally agree. We also don't even have access to major sorcery? like, really? just pathetic. I love necro, only reason i even play, and yet, feels very neglected and forgotten.

    This class had so much potential, people are bringing up wanting a skeletal summon for the grave lord tree ultimate, and that's actually what it was at one point. It would be awesome if they made one of the class sets change the ultimate from the flesh atronach back to the skeletal dragon. I know it's possible, because cryptcanon vestments mythic replaces your ultimate with a new one. These class sets are so..plain and non-creative. There are so many cool ideas I could throw out for each class, like this might have been a opportunity to finally give dragonknights that stamina/poison whip that was requested for years.

    In theory, I'd love to play necro, but absolutely hate the playstyle of it in game. The tethers aren't fun. Blastbones are inconsistent. The ults are good, though. The new set for them isn't good

    il say the same thing i did in my thread about it. It needs the tethers to stop breaking on LOS, more corpse generation, and access to buffs especially brutality/sorcery tied into a viable skill.

    It also needs things like better damage skills, because blast bones is very clunky and not at all comparable to a skill like the magicka morph of sub assault. The skull could use more damage too, its nothing compared to something like whip. And the morph of boneyard that gives fracture needs to be like caltrops and have it apply for some time after someone leaves the aoe.

    Theres many more but these are my suggestions.

    Yeah, it was double nerfed. 10s dots that went to 20s had their damage nerfed less than the already mediocre skeleton that you couldn’t even choose the target for.
