What you hope for is exactly what they described in the stream.

@Jaraal how would you get stuck in combat if you have to kill all enemies anyway?

You must be new. I've been stuck in combat without ever using a weapon or casting a skill before. On multiple occasions.

I have played the game since December 2017. I only ever encountered this in situations where I respawned during an ongoing encounters. e.g. Dragons in Elsweyr or in Cyrodiil. but I don't recall ever encountering it after everything was dead.

Are you saying that everything in the Endless Archive has to be killed before you can advance? That is unprecedented. You can bypass trash mobs in the last 10 years worth of content, which can be helpful when mobs get stuck in walls, fall through floors, summon you into ceilings, and so forth.

If what you say is true, and just a single trash mob being stuck in a wall can bring an end to your hours worth of grinding because you are unable to kill it, then I predict some very unhappy players running this content in the near future. Especially since ZOS removed workarounds that have been used since the beginning.

From what we saw on stream, each stage is a fairly small area and you have these ink blobs floating above you that spawn enemies. once you have defeated all enemies, a portal spawns and you can move to the next stage. you also always have the portal back to the hub so I'd imagine if you encounter an issue like that you can just go back to the hub and re-enter that stage.

First, it was a breath of fresh air to see the enthusiasm that your team has for the new content, and the follow-up with Deltia afterward was perfect. My number one question when I first saw the sets, was whether they would have weight variations, and that question was luckily answered within that follow-up interview.

Just curious, what was the answer? 😊

When asked, Mike Finnigan replied to Deltia with a confirmation that the sets can be obtained in any weight, for example, a medium and heavy armor version of the new Templar set could be obtained.

I'm not sure if that is better or worse really. That would drastically increase drop RNG.

For someone that wants to optimize their character, it’s significantly better because it allows you to have the exact number of light, medium, and heavy that you would want for your character.

There will be Grand Master Crafter Tables you can purchase with Writ Vouchers that you will be able to feed your tables into, you won’t need to grind out all of your sets again. But you will need to grind out vouchers to afford the new tables you feed yours into.

As far as I know, the "master" stations will "eat" the ones you have. No knowing what the master stations will cost as yet - but probably will not be cheap.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they landed at 1,000 vouchers each.

    Grand Master Crafting Station

I'm confused as to the "feeding" of the new station.
If you have a few sets that you haven't been able to get the attunables for, does that mean we still have to purchase old attunables, then attune them to the sets, and then feed those to the Grand Master ones or how does that work? What about future sets coming out?
    Thanks!

This☝️ Do we still need to grind 300+ attunable tables to max the master tables or can we reuse the attunables after loading into the master table?

I'd like to know if the Jewelry master writs will be modified in light of the platings changes?

Their writ voucher values were significantly increased to match the hefty price of platings needed to create them and I'd like to know whether there are plans to bring them down again.

jewelry master writs are being updated

i believe going forward there will be no blue jewelry writs (not sure what they are going to do to existing blue jewelry writs, but i assuming their writ value will be rebalanced)

This is the one thing I'm really waiting for news on. When writs were rebalanced last time and massively increased in value, existing ones weren't touched and made effectively worthless, so seems a bit mean if they change them all this time

Yes. I really want to know before I just throw up my hands and get rid of the blue ones on my mains. I'm silly - I can't stand to delete them (unless they require the more expensive traits - because that just makes them too expensive to bother with).... and with 6 mains (3 accounts both PC megaservers) I have a LOT of blue writs....

They shouldnt do anything about existing master writs. Few times when they fixed "bugged" writs that were giving 0 vouchers as a reward they only changed new ones and old ones stayed the same. They werent deleted or changed. I still have 1 Master Writ like that in my collection.
Like imagine, if u would want to "rebalance" existing writs it would be a massive amount of work as u would have to change every single one manually. It just isnt worth it. Some ppl will benefit from this a lot but its not enough to have a big impact on the market. Like 1-2 days of Zenithar event would have a bigger impact. So its just not worth an effort.

So just wait for the U40 and enjoy some very good Master Writs.
I'm hoping for this as I'm sitting on several thousand vouchers worth of high count purple and gold writs. I've long got rid of my blues.

IMHO, jewelry crafting change one of the worst ideas picked among random suggestion.

Sure, it’s nice to gold any set with little or no effort to try out new build, but the consequences for that ease is way deeper than that. Long term though it’ll completely destroy whole niche in trading, making what once was a good goldmaking method pretty much obsolete and dragging a few others along the way.

Golden vendor would probably take the hardest hit as it doesnt matter of what kind of price rebalancing there is, waiting for specific set to safe 30-50k gold is not worth it, it’s also not worth to buy or resell anything with low profits and it completely eliminate all the value from previously bought jewelry. AP value and motivation to PvP would go down as the result. Leaderboard rewards would also become more meaningless than they already are. Even more sets become devalued and worthless (why buy mother sorrow when you could gold orders wrath). More importantly, the value of gold itself would be even more diminished as there are even fewer things to buy with it and fewer reasons to engage in trading or grinding at all and that’s on top of elimination of crown trading, one of the main motivation to farm gold for endgamers.

Frankly, with this update I don’t even know why am I even trading anymore as options to spend that gold get taken away with nothing to replace them with.

This. Such a terrible change for those who were already invested in this craft and everything related to it, like AP jewelry. Divine intervention into player driven economy that undoes years and thousands of hours of progress.

It is not like Mukrmire prep daily change, where never players will have it easier, but those who already accomplished it don't lose anything. Here we lose what we already have and lose a lot.

You're not losing anything just because prices will change. Like, I managed to get a PS5 on release day and I've had the benefit of it for a couple of years while it was hard to get and expensive. Now they're easier to find and cheaper. It doesn't devalue mine.

We had all this when JC was first introduced. It was going to ruin vet trials because you could just upgrade instead of paying for runs. Nobody would buy jewelry anymore. It was all just needless panicking over nothing.

This change will make it so much more accessible. Instead of the rich few buying all the gold jewelry and platings, everyone will be getting in on it. Instead of selling one ring at 200k it'll be 4 at 50k. Instead of a grain for 8k it'll be a plating for 8k but instead of 5% of people buying them it'll be 90%.

This isn't even on PTS yet, chill out and wait and see.

Happy with everything mentioned. The endless archive seems really cool! Especially being able to build up power/defenses to use in the following runs.

    Some questions:
-Will the endless archive's currency have a daily/weekly limit for what we can gain?

-As someone who has done practically each alliance over a dozen of times, I am still wondering about the quest exp & gold standardization, like could we get some examples for this? Will we now get more gold/exp per quest, and what about the new guild daily rewards? How does this all relate to the current rewards? (Suggestion: let the fighter and mages guild daily have a chance to drop a random motif page from any of the available motifs in-game, with a very very small chance for full books)
-If we are getting more exp for some quests/dailies, will we see any CP system upgrade any time soon?

-What will the ratio for forcibly converting grains into platings with U40 be, 10:1 as it is now, or 1:1?

PS: I have no problem with class sets being somewhat underpowered, as long as they are fun to play with.

If will be 1:1 for grains and 1:10 for old plates.
Example: you have 23 grains and 131 plates pefore the patch, after the patch you'll have 23 + 10x131 = 1333 new plates.

Overall I'm feeling pretty positive so far. I am looking forward to the new things, jewelcrafting rebalance was unexpected but very welcome.
It was really nice to see the devs on screen so excited during the stream. Changing up the yearly chapter cycle to this new update cycle is really starting to show results and I am liking it so far.

Endless archive buffs, cycles, stages or whatever they are called still confuse me a bit. But I'll figure it out in the future.
Events look nice, free house, hell yeah.
The class sets range from alright, to hmm interesting to, hmm this needs some adjusting. Art wise I feel they lack some individuality, I hope future motifs will be more bold in design. They now require those aura's to figure out which sets belongs to which class and for me it lacks the WOW effect personally. They're alright-ish, but very similar to each other.

I have some questions regarding the groupfinder. Could it also be used as a calendar of sort, to plan for groups in the future? How long does a group ad stay up? If I for example want to organize house tours every Saturday at the same time would I have to make a new group ad every week or will others still be able to see my housing tour announcement that I made earlier?
Will the group finder have tools like searching by name or tags or something else?

    Looking forward to Monday,

    Edit:
One last piece of feedback I want to add is that I think it's slightly disappointing that we're not able to give our companions those special buffs while into the Endless Archive. During the stream they joked the companions just need to 'git gud' one their own, but that exactly what companions lack They have a hard limit in terms of gear and just a handful of skills they can choose of. Being able to give those special buffs also to my companions would be really nice. Being able to choose between 2 buffs like we do would be amazing,d but them also getting our buffs would be appreciated too.

As a content category, the Endless Dungeon (why is it not called an Endless Arena? There is nothing dungeon-like about it) looks way too mindless and repetitive for my tastes, but other people seem to really like it, so that's good. Can't win them all. I just hope it doesn't take absolutely forever to earn the furnishing rewards in there.

To be fair, the actual name is the Endless Archive. More fitting to Hermaeus Mora's affinity for books.

True, but it was billed as an "endless dungeon", and what we got was an "endless arena". :disappointed:

I suppose that this is only to be expected, much as the link to Apocrypha is expected. Making an actual endless dungeon would be something worthy of more than the 4Q DLC. That would be a main feature, and would need to be Chapter content.

After listening to the Team and then solo interview there are a few things that just dont ring true.

I keep hearing no two runs are the same. In reality each portal to portal....as in every phase....in the same...
Trash pull, trash, trash, boss....over and over and over. Its the same.

They keep mentioning exploration. I dont see it at all. Its all room/cavern of the same style and zero explore. There is no exploration at all. Its on rails.

In the solo interview the developer says they made it to expand on it and we "may" see expansion of the class sets. If we dont see all 21 class lines get a set (really soon) there would be a revolt....lol. That would be seen as just giving up on the whole thing. Thats just the minimum they could do....

The entire leaderboard thing is just "who has the most free time." We all saw the difficulty as they played through, its not a meat grinder of an area. Duos are going to be able to crawl through for hours on end.

Pretending this stuff is not obvious is why the Devs have a bad rep for not understanding their player base....

I thought that part of the goal for update 40 was to repurpose a lot of the old zones? Maybe I miss interpreted some of the old info and maybe thats coming next year?

This new update looks cool for sure. I would like to see some new zone stories and quest lines that bring us back to the zone’s currently in game. As well I am hoping that the new zones added are much larger in size of the zone and filled with many more quests. If we only get one a year I hope that done in away that is the volume and size and content reflect a once a year roll out.

And hopefully PVP in Cyro gets some serious love and attention too!

The jewelry crafting update is a welcome change. I would also like to know if jewelry crafting is being decoupled from Summerset? Its been over 5 years. Players without ESO+ who haven't bought Summerset are completely locked out of jewelry crafting - they can't even interact with the stations to learn traits. Imagine the reaction of new players who discover this the hard way.

Why does it matter what the price is? The change is a net win for 99% of the playerbase. How selfish would someone have to be to be against this?

Sure it’s unfortunate for the 1% of people playing that hoarded gold jewelry to sell later, but there is still a whole patch to make sales, just lower your prices and make what money you can before u40.

It’s not rocket science. Just optimize the time you have before the update.

I can definitely see why people are happy about the Master Crafting Stations. Personally, I think having the crafting sets be made at locations other than out in the world was a mistake as I feel it makes it feel more like an assembly line than an art.

Personally, I think LFG type functionality tend to be better in theory than in practice once the dust clears. But, we'll have to wait and see.

The Jewelry Crafting change will definitely make it more accessible. I've never actually made gold jewelry because it's always been too expensive for me to feel worth it. I'd actually hoarded my jewelry materials for months as a hedge against inflation so it's a bit of a loss. It will be interesting to see how much it impacts the Golden. Personally, I had been buying any jewelry I thought I would use from the Golden for AP. Once the change happens, I don't think I'll be buying much be cause the cost to upgrade vs the cost at the Golden won't be that different.

The new house looks quite nice.

I think the Endless Archive might benefit from having the option to do non-leaderboard runs that start at higher difficulties. Personally, it's not my cup of tea but, it seems like it could take too long to actually be a challenge for some people.

Now we want to hear from you! What did you think of the Endless Archive, Grand Master Crafting Station, Rebalanced Jewelry Crafting, Group Finder, new house from the Secrets of the Telvanni event?

    Endless Archive:
    The good:
    - Seems to be designed as solo-first, so I am expecting to spend a lot of otherwise potential downside in there;
    - Seems to have a lot of potential for expansion, regarding content, the buffs system and drops, so it might stay relevant in the long term

    The bad:
    - The class sets have a lot of potential to become a balancing nightmare and, in fact, there is already a discrepancy in power between classes from what got spoiled in the stream.

    Grand Master Crafting Station
    The good:
    - Massive quality of life update, both for people building "guild halls" and those using them.

    The bad:
    - Nothing, really.

    Rebalanced Jewelry Crafting
    The good:
    - Everything, potentially. This crafting skill is a massive outlier right now, and bringing it in line with the others will have large long-term benefits.

    The bad:
    - Everything, potentially. I am waiting for the actual patch notes to see if it will be a blast or a dud.

    Group Finder
    The good:
    - It is a central hub for grouping, so it removes the issues with interested people being in multiple zones, or multiple instances of a zone;
    - It can lead to an increase in casual grouping.

    The bad:
    - You know veteran trials will be a horrible mess.

No opinion on the new house, it is not a thing I care about.

Largely i agree however a pug is a pug. Crag pugs have been a mess for ages. This is an improvement in my eyes. At least some parameters can be set. Pour one our for crag though. She served bravely.

I like that towns will be theme decorated for events. It makes it more immersive and festive.

I always wondered why they didn't do this. I figured it was just lack of time to get around to it, and it looks like they found the time.

If I remember correct they said on live stream the new currency has no cap, so you can probably farm it endlessly

Uncapped currency might mean that vendor prices are super high.

My laptop screen is tiny but looked like the prices are in the thousands for what they showed. I didnt see how much drops each time tho.

Added to that, I think they're probably counting on people spending a lot of it on the extra temporary buffs
