I'd rather have a fake tank drop as soon as we phase in rather than have them running all over the map in circles with a bow making life difficult for the rest of the group. My tank companion is better than any fake tank that I've met in game.

To that I can agree wholeheartedly  !

Still, I must say that I would find it really, really great if those leavers would get a harsh penalty for doing so. For example, if they do leave for the first time within 24h they will get 1h Group Finder ban on that char. If they do leave a second time with a char on their account, they will get 6h GF and Dungeon/Trial ban on the whole account and for the third time they will get a 24h GF, Dungeon and Trial ban for the whole account  .

For those who are jumping random dungeons until the random system gives them FG1 or something similar, those players should get a penalty in form of denying them the *purple* daily random reward and instead giving them only the normal blue one.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as mentioned it deals with dungeon groups.

    Thank you for your understanding

I hate fake tank as real tank player.

But...each time I met useless quick dead DD and crappy amateur healer as tank,
I feel empathy for skillful DD player who choose fake tank queue.
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
    with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

After a long time, not running dungeons, just to stay away from the madnes. Started to que again in dungeon Finder, as Im leveling a new DD.

My arcanist was at the time I started queing lvl 17. I qued random normal several times. Que time was 5-10 minutes - specific dungeons, very long as we all know.

There is no excuse for fake queing, and this is on consol EU.

I will not mention, what I saw in there. That said. Oh dear cp 2200+. One run went very well, as the group as a whole, where in control of the fight the, whole time..

Something have happen to the overall queality to pugs.

Ok let me note something here for tanks specifically: there is insane expecions on tanks with high cp and yet not a single person will consider that the tank may very well be the first one they have ever made. They may have gone through the entire game to high cp before making one. I was above 1800cp when i made mine. I took off my trifecta title and put a pvp one on bc the expectation is that if you are high cp you must already be an insanely good tank. I had gone through the game up to that point almost solely dd and sometimes as a healer.

I do agree. I think it would be a good idea in a pug situation, inform the group Im new at tanking. It sadens me as yesterday, I lost a tank, which don´t happen often as a healer. I had to go backbar and dd, as I was bombarded by adds over the place. That´s when I saw the tank was new - np here it´s ok.

I did go on backbar as the dd´s didn´t take care of the adds - I would be concentrating on the tank. It was a dlc dungeon on norm.

I have three tanks - dk, warden and Arcanisk. The later is round the + 40 level. I a day or so it will be cp 2200+

I don´t know, what will happen, when he goes live. My dd Arcanist is 25 if I remember right, and done some dungeons with her.

From my perspective, the two dd´s and the tank knew eachother - they stayed together, so in that case they should have turned around and engaged the adds, who bombarded us - they didn´t

I mean in the past i did and i had the group just leave even though im actually a pretty competent tank even as a newer one. Part of the reason i rarely pug anymore.

Today’s pledge was Scriveners and I rarely do the DLC pledges but wanted some keys.

2 of 4 pugs had fake tanks. First tank just said “lol” when asked to please taunt. Second tank wasn’t taunting and was silent when called out. Both groups ended up disbanding. Fake tanks in DLC are wasting everyone’s time.

Yesterday i went to do my random as a dps. Pretty much always run vet. So there i am killing the boss in bloodroot. Im in her circle. Died with her at about 50k from a bad aoe. Someone goes "stack on tank, kill adds". I ask " well who is the tank exactly". Crickets. Everyone dies. I solo the boss. I kill everything all the way to boss with rock atros. I ask everyone "do you guys all know mechs for this" again crickets so i tell em all what to do and attempt to solo boss 2, got close but everyone dies again and 2 leave. So i then just left and had to que a second time. Silently cursing myself for not bringing my own tank.

There are player´s out there, who are leveling a tank for the first time. After leveling you are at cp 1300 or whatever. As it is now, not many, who level tanks are running normal dungeons.

Bro. This attitude is so problematic its not even funny. Im 1800cp and i just built my tank 2 weeks ago. It took forever for me to decide to try it because of exactly this attitude. The expectations on hight cp tanks are mind blowing. Its stressful, especially for trial tanks. You missing one block can wipe the group. Im competent,
i can toss down buffs and debuffs and not die but I dont know every mechanic because guess what? They are different for tanks compared to dps. Its a steep learning curve.

100% agree. This is why my tank got no further than a few sets put on a characteras a CP2000+ player. Never queued in the dungeon finder as a tank

I only que for normals when i need transmutes or to farm gear and that is it. anything else i do with a premade because of exactly this attitude and all the hate ive gotten in random vets because of this. No thanks. I have tons of support sets ready to go... for my groups. I get to learn without insane expectations. My leads and tank buddies have said many times that it will always be your fault, this why we have such a hard time building and retaining good tanks, and everyone will always know how to do your job better then you. Its garbage.

And some people love to give “advice”. The most insane “advice” i ever got: LA weave instead of HA.

Basically self sabotage stam sustain for <2k dps.

And the “don’t run ice staff run lightning staff” in the past or “block mit is not important, don’t use def stance (or bracing anchor)”

Ice staff is pretty ok to use on a dd. See it used from time to time, if people haven´t been scared, by other´s, who think they know best, which they don´t.

Well there are few situations i would use anchor in but to each their own. Ice staff is the gold standard bb weapon for tanks. Many advanced players double bar them. One of many reasons being that frost clench is a taunt. Mit is always important. There are baselines a tank should follow as far as basic character page stats for sustain, attributes, armor, ect. How you get there is up to you. For example i run all my large pieces reinforced and the small divines using a stustain mundus and balance it out with enchantments ect. And then run bastion since i heavily depend on shields for my tank. Some choose to run a combination of reinforced and sturdy and a ton of different options. Use what makes you the best tank for your play style.

Also dont heavy attack? Lol. Even if it didnt restore resources for some wild reason i would still do it bc it procs arch druid, a must have monster set for tanks.

I'm a real tank, but SPS in this game likes to sprint ahead and grab aggro on everything and start AIE attacks. I wish I could get a healer to jot heal those people. Even boss fights most of the time the DPS runs ahead now counting on healing or me to save their butt. I really wish there was a better way for DPS to get spots without fake ques.

Well...ZOS should make new character title.

    "I'm real tank!". :*

Consider real tank shortage, If you use "real tank" character title, then tremendous amount of
DD player array are standing in front of you. :D

Tank: "Who is the most powerful DD among us?"
DD: "Me!" "No Me!!" "No! take me instead of that guy!!"

    OK, stop joking.
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.

There're so many of crappy high CP tank(over CP1300) everywhere in PUG.
    That is real problem.

Because, I've never met decent tank as both DD and healer queue by random grouping.
Yes, it's not funny actually. I thought there're so many people who don't know decent tank building method.

And don't know how to act as tank.

They were killed by normal attack, not even mech. Even CP1900 player can't deal 10 amount of mobs.
And keep killing DD or healer 6 times with no HM situation. Time wasting.

it's not funny like you said.
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
    with [1Stam Blade].

Because experienced tanks dont use group finder. My entire point was that even a 1900cp player could have been a dd until 1899cp. I used gf for a hot second. Ppl treated me like dirt while i was trying to figure it out bc there is literally not even the most basic tips for tanks in game. I learned from good tanks. I can successfully tank almost all vet dlcs now... but i'll never use group finder again because ppl treated me like that as i was trying to learn. Most tanks in gf are learning. By the time they have figured it out they are gone. Dds have space to learn in gf. Tanks dont. This whole post exemplifies this.

I had someone immediately quit when we pugged into normal Black Drake Villa. They're loss, we 3 player'd it pretty smoothly.

Dude. People have irl reasons to leave dugeons. Sometimes i have to leave to do an emergency sub for a prog sometimes as well. Thats just not realistic.

I agree with you. I never left a dungeon on purpose. Sometimes the power goes out. The cat walks across the keyboard and then closes out the game.

If I go afk in the game that is usually because I gotta use the bathroom. That's the most common reason why players go afk.

Other times I get kicked from group without a clear reason. When that happens I join another dungeon group. Sometimes when joining a new dungeon group, it ends up being much more successful/fun than the previous group.
