The change to no longer use a sprinting animation when moving beyond a certain speed threshold without sprinting has caused werewolf to look absolutely ridiculous when not sprinting. Want proof? Just watch:

    It gets even worse when you have major expedition up. This is something I'd expect to have seen in the beta 9 years ago.

    There's a reason why characters with high movement speed used to play the sprinting animation when moving quickly, and these videos exemplify the issue we get when there is no change in the animation to reflect that increase in movement speed. ZOS, please fix.

    What happens when you're at max movement speed untransformed without any personality? Is it just the default jog animation just sped up instead of the running animation? Why was this even changed?

    Movement speed in general seems to be globally bugged out.

    Mount speed is borked and animations are significantly slowed down, as well as character speed using the Ring of the Wild Hunt.

    Yup, all mounts feel like they have sliding ice mechanics.
    The animations are really super slow, but you feel like you're sliding around super fast with how fast the background is moving, so there's almost a nauseating treadmill-ilke effect happening. They also slide to a stop now and you can easily fishtail spin when trying to turn.

    I actually like this change, with the steed CP we never get to see our running animations, sprinting animations should only play when you're ACTUALLY sprinting, maybe they should just alter the speed it plays to scale with the speed you are running?

    Well in the case of werewolf, there is no running animation. Just a weird walking animation. The down on all fours running thing was actually cool and on brand for, ya know, werewolves.

    Beside that, though, all of the animations are broken now on the PTS. They're disorienting and sliding and give more of an early 2000s game feeling than one being actively updated in 2023. I don't think the intended goal was reached at all, not with the blanket implementation they seem to have used. Sprinting animations being used at sprinting speed (anything at or above 140% base movement speed) should look like a sprint.

    Who OK'd this? Honestly.

    Is there really nothing else development time could be spent on rather than this? Even if making this change only took someone five minutes I think I'd have been happier if that dev had decided to take an extra give minutes on their lunch break instead.

    Maybe it was buggy movement speed animations that causes a bunch of lag and they don't want to admit it.

    Imagine if after all these years of bad performance in Cyrodiil to find out it was mostly caused by something like speed and animations being out of sync. 🤣

    The stream of changes to Lycanthropy since the 'renaissance moment' if you will with Greymoor which have relegated it to nigh obscurity one blow at a time could be chalked down to lack of due care and interest rather than malice but this? this feels personal...

    i like having the fast animations on my farmer toon and on my mounts, it feels like im making progress towards being faster. having everything slowed down feels like its removinf that sort of impact of actually feeling like youre moving faster. plus the sliding looks absolutely awkward

    Having grown up with a father who was really into speed walking...and only 5'6" tall...as a kid thought it was normal for people to walk like that. I learned to keep up with him by skipping, because it let me cover the distance faster on my little kiddo' legs. Imagine my astonishment when I emerged into the real world and realized he was just a nutcase!

    I love this game but it's getting to the point now where I'm convinced they're trying their hardest to regress certain aspects of it to make everyone that's actually still here quit.

    This sprint animation stuff is insane but movement in general has been an absolute joke since beta in comparison to other games. It'll probably stay like this for the next 10 years so get used to it.

    Once again, good job ZOS! Can't wait to redo the shop-bought personalities on my characters because they look dumb running with all the speed perks I've farmed.

    Some mounts are better than others but most of them have no connection to the ground now. Guar and bears are particularly bad, sliding the entirety of the length of their foot plus some for every step they take.

    I noticed this with mounts while on the PTS. The landscape moves too fast in relation to the slowed movement of the running animation.
