This could take the form of a weapon, guild or world skill line. Not including classes or set bonuses in this poll. New skill lines only.

I voted Disease as it the most underrepresented damage type in the game. Blood Magic and Witchcraft come joint second as not many Blood skills and the idea of hexes and curses sound cool.

Alteration seems fun, specifically I'm thinking of new mechanics like Star Wars force push/pull with weight changing magic, expanding underwater with water breathing and swimming, pitch black darkness with light orbs, and of course, alteration shields for Tanking.

However, I would rather see Unhanded be a new weapon skill line first. Summoned weapons, fire vortexes, stunning kicks. Would work well with a Sword Singer update to Redguard...

Definitely plants, I'd love to have access of some the faun and druid abilities so I can better simulate druids and reach mages.

Though what I truly want are actual TES magic schools and some of their spells.

I think it would be better to not lean too heavily into that style of theme as it can easily leave the skill line being too limited in appeal and it can also make some of the existing classes potentially feel lesser.

      Artificer Skills (traps and machines)
I have no idea how these skills would function practically, but I would like a machine theme. Neramo and Raynor can make functional contraptions, so it stands to reason that you should also be able to learn to do so as well. So far this theme has only really been used with the Mad Tinkerer set, which implies that you can quickly put together suicide fabricants to sic your enemies with. And I know people will disagree with this, but I would really want one of those skills to be a permanent automaton combat pet, even if it will add to a sorc's potential zoo.

      Unarmed.
Old Flurry animation can go into an unarmed skill.
Let Unarmed light and heavy attacks scale with highest attribute.

It's about time we get this skill line.
I've been holding onto a character named Rocky Balmora for AGES.

      We definitely need new pets.

Perhaps this new skill line could temporarily transform our non combat pets into huge ferocious beasts.

Especially that cute gerbil with the big ears - Alabaster Jerboa.

That would be a sight to see.

But the idea of a skill line, as apart from a new class, is that it's available to all classes. So you can add the skill to your current class, possibly making up for a deficiency (like Vigor does for stamina based builds that don't have a stam heal), and giving a boost to current classes.

What makes existing classes feel lesser is the introduction of a new class, which usually steals and improves upon existing class skills. These new classes are usually OP on creation, because ZoS want to sell the chapters they are associated with (but generally get hit by the nerf hammer over the course of a year once ZoS have made their money and want to restore a semblance of balance).

I'd like to see a battlemage skill line - you go to battlemage school and end up being able to wield weapons and throw fireballs :)

I think the best way for ZOS to add an artificer to the game would be as a Bard Class that uses Tonal Resonance tools, Dwemer contraptions, and summoned crystals to create effects on the battlefield. They manipulate tonal frequencies to warp reality and bend time.

I'll just post again here that I think a Peryite 'Afflicted' skill line using disease and Poison could work. Just make it incompatible with Werewolf and Vampire and give it its own unique bonuses and weaknesses like say resistance to poison/disease and vulnerability to bleeds or something.

I'd happily trade an entire skill line from nightblade if I had optional blood magic.
This should be de-facto available for Vampires too, or at least some version of it beyond the very small toolkit that Vampires currently have.

alteration skills would be interesting but i think that current sorcerer’s “dark magic” is some sort of alteration magic (or suppose to be) since symbols on sorcerer’s sigil means “alteration, conjugation, shock”

It's also worth mentioning that there are very little or no Illusion school spells in the game depending on one's headcanon. Illusion staves would be a prime candidate for example.

I want more weapons that recharge magic upon usage. It would be really nice to have a magic user who uses something other than a staff. For example, I would love to use a tomb for basic attacks with my Arcanist.

You mean tome right? Sorry, English teacher lol. But yeah a magic book would be cool.

The problem is that ZoS does not want to create new weapons due to the work involved in creating all the motifs.

Unarmed and a new staff would work because unarmed requires no motifs and the staff ones already exist.

They could possibly do wands by cheating and simply shrink and distort the existing staff models but it depends on how it would look.
