PC Players! It's been a week since Necrom launched! Still shocked by how fast time flies. What has everyone been up to so far? Have you been playing through the main quest? Grouping up for some Sanity's Edge runs? Running around Cyrodiil as an Arcanist? Upping your fashion game?

Just trying to get a gauge on where everyone is to relay to teams.

Wondering where everyone is. Because they are definitely not in Necrom zones.

Both Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha had lots of players yesterday on PC NA. I finished up the chapter delves and found that most of the mobs were dead already because there were so many people in there. I didn't check on PC EU.

I've dipped in to do a couple of dailies in Necrom with Sharps, and obvs did the quest to aquire him.
Currently working through Murkmire with my main with Sharps because I thought he'd like being there..
He is the perfect companion for me..have to say on a personal level I didn't gel with any of the other companions from blackwood or high isle..but Sharps..made for me..I've done nothing to level him but just do the stuff I like doing..I might have done a couple of ashlander hunts for him but aside from that I've had great fun with him..love his dialogue..
I did check up online first though to check out his likes and dislikes and I've found that the dislikes that were listed don't really match and I haven't done anything he dislikes..but that's all good 😀

My issues are with the Nymics and some minor issues that probably will be solved soon.

I don't see how the nymics will work in the future, after people will move on to their usual routine. Also, I dislike that we need 5 ichors from a very strong mob that has a very large combat area. I was digging an antiquity far from a seeker, and my excavation was interrupted by a tentacle. TBH it was funny, but I am not sure this was intented. It is annoying, you need to fix these issues, like you tp to a wayshrine, and it is full of tentacles and AoE from a seeker that is fought a mile away.

So far, I did all the side quests and half of the story line. This chapter is far better than what was released in the past years. I don't have time to work on a new character, so I didn't make an arcanist on the live server. IMO the game didn't really need this class, and what I don't like about it, is how flashy green it is. There should be some variation of color, like some change in hue for healing, damage or shields, maybe have shields a bit bluish, like cyan, and heals more towards yellow-orange. The beam is ridiculous, but now it's to late, you won't change all these. Anyway, I do think you need to address the flashy crux people complain about. Maybe the solution is to hide these effects only in towns.

I am very curious about what's next, I am interested in improvements to existing systems, things like housing, pvp, crafting, outfit customization, etc. An option to buy more housing slots, even 10% would be great.

Regarding companions, we have enough of them, so what I would like to see is some improvement with this system, such as giving them some companion gear inventory slots, more abilities and ways to make them useful. Examples: have Azandar make a portal to the nearest wayshrine, Isobel could repair gear for free once a day, and so on... Right now the companions don't interact much with the places we visit, I know some people don't like them to be chatty, but they should react to things relevant to them.

P.S. I really appreciate the large inn room!

I agree that there are issues that ZOS needs to fix, but my expectation is that it will be a long time before we see anything major in the way of changes. They like to "grok" before they act. They will wait a couple months just to see how things settle out, then some time discussing how to fix it, then they will add it to an upcoming Update that we will eventually see. Unless they have options they have already considered, I don't expect more than minor tweaks in 3Q and 4Q, and not much more than that in 1Q24. For next year at this time, tweaks might be enough, but by then, people will be on the next chapter.

I'd like to see... (1) smaller leash and active combat zone for the Seekers. I think they have such a large zone because they wander when out of combat and ALL of that area is their leash and combat zone. (2) fewer ichor needed for Nymic entry, as these Seekers won't be trivial for most players to solo and over time, the best way to get a group together will be to not need a group. Finally, on that last thought... (3) Group finder.

On the subject of storage, given that they created Crown Store storage "pets" that only added 5 slots, my guess is that they are extremely averse to adding storage to the game. I don't expect Companions to have storage. Sheesh... I don't expect Companions to do anything they don't do today, out of the box, that cannot be monetized for 1500-2000 Crowns per companion.

I love the new companions, so I've been getting to know them. I had this idea Sharp was going to be my new favorite. New fishing buddy and all. New BFF. Azandar was just an after-thought.

Then I got Azandar. He said funny things when we were fighting. With the first portfolio found, we also became BFFs. 🤓 Now I have two new friends to adventure with, and old ones to continue leveling. I can't say how much fun I'm having with them all.

I made an Arcanist but I'm not concentrating on levelling him yet as I'm still getting skill points on my stamplar.
I've done a couple of dailies in Necrom including the delve quests, opened up a lot of wayshrines, got myself Sharp-as-Night and not much else. I figure it's another year until we get more story quests so I am in no hurry to complete them. Plus I've only just started doing Markarth, so will get that out of the way first.

Over 5 days played on the arcanist in the span of 7 days when I checked... Been a good distraction, and the most fun I've had with an MMO launch in quite a while. Nothing like storming new content/characters and trying to master them before everyone else does haha.

Really like the arcanist. Every class should feel as good as it does from a mechanic, toolkit, and fun standpoint. HA builds being the new floor for skill/damage, and arcanist being the new ceiling for fun, power, and ease of dual bar rotations. I hope the devs make adjustments with that in mind, vs looking to nerf/buff the ceiling or floor.

The buff to Templar is nice. The range buff to melee for all classes is great. DK is still arguably king of DEEPS, though plar and arcanist are nippin' at the heels. Warden is still feeling solid in gameplay. Necro & Nightblade still need buffs/adjustments... as a necro main, playing arcanist makes me want to delete my necro, besides colo and necro rez, it's outdone in almost every way compared to the arcanist and the necro lacks the toolkit of other classes while REQUIRING the highest APM to play effectively.

Biggest issue is trying to barswap mid channel on Arcanist, locks you out of casting till the original cast time is completed(so bar swapping after the start of beam means you can be stuck doing nothing for 4 seconds!) it's annoying- so far every Arcanist I know trying to push out big deeps has encountered it, mostly in content when your rotations get sloppy and you panic swap bars to recast buffs.

Taking my time with the necrom story quests, it's been great- def one of the better updates to the game in a while.

Oh, P.S. @ZOS_Kevin if you're sending notes to the dev team on making arcanist skills less of an issue for the photosensitive, anyway to add in a way to get sorc flappy birds also be to be hidden? They make my stomach hurt while looking at them.

Finished levelling my new Arcanist and Azandar (level 20 but not max rapport yet). Did the necrom prologue and about half the main necrom quest. Finished levelling fighters guild, undaunted, crafting (all but jewellery).

Having a blast playing the Arcanist in pve. Getting more confidence pugging vet dlc dungeons and really enjoying the beam-centered rotation (even though you often cc-ed by a boss 1 second into the channel and lose all the crux for nothing, but it'sa risk reward thing).

Struggling to make Arcanist effective in cyrodiil to be honest. PvP really likes bursts, and the channel has too much counter play. I'll try a build with tentacular dread as spender instead of the beam. But it's becoming increasingly likely that I'll stick to pve with the Arcanist and leave cyrodiil to my magsorc main. Which is fine I suppose.

Did the bastion nymphs twice with pugs, which was easy to find on zone chat especially once you collect all ichor (which is tedious but not challenging). Problem is, as most pugs go, people rush and skip content and the whole thing ends 10 minutes and I didn't even get to learn about the puzzles. That's why I tried to solo it after but I keep getting one shotted by the 4.5M boss right towards the end, and then I gave up. One day I'll find a pug that doesn't want to skip content.

All things considered, I'm glad I bought necrom and well done ZoS

Started the main quest with an existing necromancer, got both new companions, and yay, Azandar is an arcanist! Working now on leveling the companions and doing daily quests. Didnt finish the main quest yet, that will come later, no rush. Happy there were no issues with add-ons this go-around except for 'no, thank you'...like the challenging puzzles.

The game is currently unplayable unfortunately; so to answer your question: nothing. And that is not for lack of trying. Constant disconnects, never-ending queues that ultimately result in an error screen, and.. well - nothing atm. Started out great and love the new zone but just would like to play it for more than 5 minutes..

I honestly don't find myself playing as much as I thought, most of it is my issues but I thought I'd be happy to log in and jump into it. But I haven't done the Galen prologue or the Galen quests yet, I like to do zones in order, and I leveled my Arcanist but find the lack of mount speed keeping me from bringing him to Cyrodiil so I just level FG and Undaunted while I get my speed up.

Also, the lack of response to the pvp rewards has changed my view on the game a lot. I got used to one method of how changing PvP campaigns was handled, we got rewards early, and wanted to know what was up/are we getting double or not... but... got ignored, edited, and posts moved or deleted. Didn't think it was that big of a deal but it kind of morphed into one. I guess my fault for assuming but my hype for the game and the chapter kind of took a gigantic hit. It's a big reason why I haven't done Galen... just don't want to stay logged in that long. Hard to explain the change I went through because of this, seems trivial but it wasn't about my transmutes it was about the no response and mods closing and moving threads vs answering simple questions.

Do you know when something is special, like a car, a book, or a figurine? You take care of it, look forward to driving it or reading it. You go the extra mile for it because it's not just a car... well that's what ESO was to me. It was special because I met some awesome people in it, some became really close friends and/or best friends but after all that above... plus other reasons... well it just turned this game into just another game. So, that special car? It's just something that gets me back home and to work. That book? Collecting dust on my shelf with others. I'll still play this game, still help others but I ain't going the extra mile no more.

Doesn't help that my main is a Magcro, which is a playstyle that's bad atm so I don't have any fun playing it anymore but... it's my main so... oh well. It is what it is, I am not advocating for class tokens there... I agree with them not being in the game. I even had a whole plan to take time off during next Whitestrake's Mayhem so I could get my Magcro to AR 50 (fairly close) and retire them from PvP but I don't know if I am even going to do that.

I'm sure the Necrom story is great, love Hermaeus Mora but... I'll get there whenever I get there. As for Arcanist... meh... fun class and all but until I get FG, Undaunted, Mount Speed, and Psijic maxed... it won't see much action beyond working on those.

Run vet Sanity’s Edge about 5 times. It’s fun! Love the mini boss mechanic and scenery.
Got my Arcanist to CP. Very fun to play.
Very annoyed that I don’t have the transmutes owed from the Campaign so I can make my arcanist her full proper gear.
Started the zone quest but got distracted, lol.
Tried farming the Velothi Ur-Mage mythic and have got zero leads so far.

Did the new trial on the day of release. Had no idea what was going on, but fun times were had by all nonetheless.

Also, Khajiit has leveled up his two new arcansists to cp as well as all craftings but jewelry (close), Thieves' guild and some reasonable progress on Legerdemain- Necrom is such a Sneaky Khajiit's paradise. This one has also secured the services of Ember (of course), Mirri and Isobel for each of them, and of course he has also acquired the services of the prestigious Sharp as Night on 5 of his characters.

Most importantly, this one has achieved perfectly unique style for his new friends :

I powerleveled my khajit arcanist the first day and am using it as a pvp dps in Grayhost. Got the Maura's Mauve dye for killing 100 arcanists with my arcanist. Pugged the new vet trial and got some achievos so that was fun. Havent done a single quest in the new area yet. I love the crux animation, just add a setting in accessability to turn it off for people that need it, but don't take it away from those that love the animation.

Feeling miserable because my playtime has been seriously reduced thanks to migraines and nausea caused by Arcanist effects implementation. And then increasingly angry because we aren't hearing anything about it, even a recognition of how serious it is. It's not feedback, it's a game-breaker and a health issue for a lot of the ZoS player base. Just being honest.
Just wanted to note here, we have passed on multiple examples of how the Arcanist VFX are impacting some players to the dev team. We have also noted this in several threads on the forum. The team is working to address this and when we have more info to share, we’ll post an update. We also have it tagged on the dev tracker.

Really glad to see this. Personally I LOVE my Arcanist, the color scheme, and the VFX; I'm having so much fun with it. But I understand that it's a serious issue for others.

I hope there can be a solution that works for both parties: those of us who like the VFX can keep it on. And option(s) to turn them off, down, or replace with a UI solution for those who don't. I've played on and off for years and remember when Sorc had the cool permanent armor VFX from Bound Armor, with glowing eyes. I don't know why it was removed, but hope Arcanist won't suffer the same fate of just removing VFX.

For example, there's a great addon already: Crux Counter, which adds a widget you can move anywhere on the screen, with toggles for size, motion, etc. Something like that could work well for people who get motion sickness from the rotating crux around the character.

    That said, I've:
    • Looted thousands of urns.
    • Leveled my Arcanist Khajiit to CP. Not power leveling; just enjoying it and getting all of the useful skills (Shadow Rider, Locksmith, Antiquities, Mages & Fighters guilds, Crafting, etc.) Combat feels incredible, like cutting butter with a hot, sharp blade.
    • Got Azandar & Sharp, did both of their quests. (I love Azandar, even more than Ember. His passive perk is awesome. ...Except when he's mounted.)
    • Got some antiquities including the Velothi Ur-Mage Amulet.
    • Wish in vain for Tomeshells to be catchable.
    • Found all the fish in Apocrypha.
    • Looted even more urns.

Leveling a couple of arcanists, slowly, by a combination of questing, grabbing wayshrines, delves, and skyshards in random places all over Tamriel (because, skill points). Also picking up companions, doing public dungeons, antiquities, and dolmens here and there.

I like the new zones and will probably focus more on finishing the quests there for the new few days while leveling. Might start some dungeons, too.

Khajiit respects the situations and viewpoints of those who have vision/balance/other limitations or impairments that prevent them from enjoying the Arcanist's delightful and magical new effects, but he would be sorely disappointed it the effects were changed and diminished across the board for everyone.
