Azandar on Horseback - Please Shut Up

Azandar on a horse is... a bit much. We're not even sprinting (or we're stopped altogether!) and yet every two seconds he's "HYUH! HYYAHH! HYUH! HYAA!" Dude, calm down.

Unfortunately the Shut Yet Trap add-on doesn't work on this. Setting companion reactions to low also wouldn't. For console players' sake I hope this can be toned down or an option added to mute mounted sounds (which would help with certain mounts vocalizations, too). But blessed be the person who can make an add-on.


P.S. just wanna say that besides the horse thing, I really love Azandar and his quips as well. I appreciate his enthusiasm and glowing remarks about my enchanting work

I have noticed this too. Maybe it's because he's confused about how to drive a horse, but he does an awful lot of HYAHHHing for someone who gets cranky when he has to mount up.

THIS. So much this. Not just him but ALL the companions do it! Yah! Yah! Hup! Hup! Yah! Drives me beyond mad! They even do this at 3% speed on my new character FFS! Dude, we're travelling at the pace of an asthmatic snail, so we really don't need the constant barrage of YAH! YAH!

If I was the mount I'd dump that bully into the biggest clump of nettles or nastiest slimy puddle I could find!

Sadly, Harven's Mute NPCs doesn't stop the racket either. I'm not sure just what those noises are linke to in the game.

I too would build a shrine to the person who could mod this continuous mount bullying out.

It's a subtle hint that they would like you to go faster.

BUT on topic, I also hate my own characters yarping at mounts. One of them sounds like she's been huffing helium.

By the way, if you are levelling new characters, do remember to go Cryodiil at lv10 and do the siege &cet tutorial (No PvP required!) to unlock the Continuous Attack passive. It does not shut up the companions but makes a massive difference for lowbie mount speed.

Yes, just done that today,

If the companion won't shut up while riding, we need the option to have them running on their own legs. That would sort out the mount bullying.

I'm pretty sure the sorc's Clannfear sometimes makes a weird noise when you get on a horse and start moving fast too.

Thank you! I don’t know if I’ll ever have a multi rider mount, so that was nice to know! To be honest, I really like Azander’s personality so far, complaints about riding and all. It just makes him feel more real! 😂

if you use the random horse generator and he gets on a double mount with you it seems to have a glitched running animation

Your tolerance with real people sure is commendable. Personally, I would get another travel companion.

The option to make them say less should do so, yes
But I don't use companions so I don't know how much that does

I honestly laugh every time he mounts... because I gave him the Hermitage Servitor... so I imagine anyone would be confused on how to handle this mount with all the tentacles.

First time I heard him saying it:



He was riding comfortable undead senche mount, so I imagined that he was surprised how I drive the wooden camel

I was very disappointed that companion Arcanist doesn't have iconic Fatecarver ability During quest to acquire this companion, he used green beam and it was very cool to kill mobs with him!



His other abilities are rather boring, so after unlocking his account-wide bonus, I will not use this companion anymore. Such a shame, because for my gameplay he would be almost perfect - he doesn't react to crimes of all sorts, and he even likes to steal certain items. And he maniacally laughs during and after the fight, that's very atmospheric

But while I level him up, I enjoy his hilarious reaction to mounts.

His other abilities may be 'boring' but they also buff the player. I plan to use him as a tank because on PTS, he definitely outperformed both Bastian and Isobel while also giving me buffs/shields as well. As a DPS, you are right about him being boring and it being a HUGE disappointment that he does not use Fatecarver, whereas during his own quest he does.

I'll be using Sharp as my main DPS companion... and only pulling Azandar out for more difficult content.

My character is still faster running than on a mount so I haven't experienced this yet, but I support removing all the "HYUH! HYYAHH! HYUH! HYAA!" from not just our Companions but us, too. The mount is the one doing all the running so why are we grunting?
