I just completed this with my wife. It took about 3.5 hours. Got zerg'd down multiple times, which was comical to say the least, because they weren't getting any Tel Var from either of us.

Given the fact we now have Mythic's, they could give us a mythic that boosts resistances ONLY while your fishing rod is in the water. This would at least reduce the incoming damage while your just standing there waiting for a fish to bite.

At any rate, my wife is now the self proclaimed Grand Master Angler. She has caught every fish in the entire game. Quietly waiting for Gold Road to come out so she has something to fish again.

To be clear, killing enemy players still gives alliance points, and there are multiple daily "Kill x number of players / Kill x number of (class)" quests that they may be trying to finish. Also several achievements that reward dyes, titles, face markings, and so forth. So it's not always about the tel var.

But congrats to you and your wife on your fishing achievements!

I mean... THAT'S the achievement... By altering it, it would be a different achievement..

That's just it. I find it odd as painful as this achievement is there isn't an additional reward for completing it. It's just 5 achievement points. At least give us a cool furnishing, dye, title or something. But nothing additional.

Giving us a special mythic that increases resistances ONLY while a fishing rod is in the water won't change the achievement. It will allow the player a fighting chance. I was on my PVP toon and I have 33k resistances, but it requires me to be buff'd, which isn't possible while holding a fishing rod in the water.

Perhaps that could be the mythic then? Allow someone to apply buff's while having the fishing rod in the water. Most mythic's have a negative side. The negative side could be that killed players don't release Tel Var. This would eliminate people baiting players in IC <pun intended>.

As per title please zos consider implementing a safe zone around the fishing spots only for people trying to get the achievement in imperial city similar to the entrance ports where if you step out you can get targeted please

If they enact any of these suggestions, it devalues the achievement for those of us who got it the way it is now.

There are no areas in this game like IC. I hope it's not watered it down any further. I only hope that it gets improved to encourage more players to go there for the pvp.

Fishing there is doable in its current state. Years ago, I fished there and in Cyrodiil with a friend who was on an enemy alliance. He watched me die a few times and I did the same. We both got the achievements.

You can stealth fish to help your chances. If you crouch and then interact with the fishing hole while the eye closes, you'll still go into Stealth while you fish. You'll come back out again when you press E to catch the fish, but it's better then being visible all the time.

@katanagirl1 I feel the same about global achievements ... I had 4 MAs before they changed it (3 5star Master Anglers out of the 4, which is the peak ESO flex LMAO) ....I blame a huge bounty (80k...it was a snowball of getting caught pick pocketing, being called thief..killing the trash talking npc...being called a murderer..killing them and it kept going lol) early on in the game that kept me from going into towns, only fishing and pvp while I waited it to drop..but it got me working on Master Angler and got me hooked on fishing

Why? This is not needed. The fishing areas in Cyrodiil are not populated even in the main camp, and you can go to one of the unpopulated camps and never see another player.

IC is a bit different, but oh well. You might get ganked a few times. Something I found to help fishing in IC when getting the achievement was to put on one of the daedra polymorphs. Then opponents have to look a bit closer to realize your a player and not an NPC.

Introducing the "Fishing Ganker"! I can see it now....

Dashing across IC, reaching the safety of the fishing pool exclusion zone, chased by a couple of enemies: "Sorry lads, I was only after the fish".

As they turn to leave a team of well coordinated Fishing Gankers hit them with everything they've got: "Sorry lads, the fish were just bait, you were the catch!"

The Fisher Gankers then turn back to the safety of the fishing pool exclusion zone and some quiet fishing...

Has anyone bothered to read follow up replies from my initial post that I agreed to others that what I was proposing was wrong and that I would continue on my quest to get master angler which ultimately I did.
Yes my idea was dumb and wrote on forums when I was feeling frustrated
This achievement can be done without any implementation and have gotten very valuable pvp experience and happy to say I participate in cyrodiil quite often now
If anyone at zos can please close my thread would appreciate as serves no further valuable discussion towards my topic 🙂

Glad to see you are enjoying PvP more now. Getting ganked can definitely be a frustrating experience, especially for those not used to the PvP landscape.

If you're finished with the thread, I'd suggest tagging one of the moderators such as @ZOS_Icy or @ZOS_Hadeostry and they will be able to help you with closing the thread (or whatever else you need).
