Ember

Ember for me! I just like her general demeanor. Isobel is cool, too, but I can't do crimes around her. And doing crimes is what I do!

Mirri

Mirri > Isobel > Bastian > Ember.

Mirri's a nerd with a taste for Dwemer and Clockwork stuff and no objections towards "property rearrangements" (also known as stealing). She's the best fit so far for my two characters, though the occasional accidental torchbug incident will lead me to say bad things about the insect's ancestors out loud.

Isobel was at first boring to me, but I started to like her more as I leveled her. She's enthusiastic about fighting, something Mirri isn't. A good follower, though I still have to unsummon her when "redistributing wealth".

Bastian loves books, which is a big win for me. But he's annoying about accidental critter deaths and his disapproval of cooking with cheese, even if he won't have a single bite, is absurd.

Ember is cheerful, but that can become tiresome after a while. She doesn't tolerate mistakes when performing legally questionable activities, which is a problem when you sneak around in heavy armor. Her backstory is touching, but I quickly forget about that when she makes that "magicky" comment.

Bastion

I like Bastian, he's usually quite cheerful. I really wanted to like Isobel, but mainly use her for tanking when I solo WBs; Bastian I have setup as a tank/DPS.

Mirri I have set as a healer, but rarely ever need a healer anymore except maybe against Dragons or more difficult World Events.

Ember... OMG I find her completely annoying. The sound of her voice just grates on me, and her 'over the top' enthusiasm seems to always come at the least appropriate times. The only time I use her is during more nefarious quests.

Thankfully with PC I can easily unsummon/resummon with the push of a key... so whenever I open thieves troves I have to unsummon Bastian or Isobel... but it's only a minor inconvenience. I'm hoping the next to companions aren't as picky about these type of things.
