Servant motif drop rate is a bad joke

you do know those feathers are "bonus" drops in any of the skulls and dont overtake any other items from them? lol

after already opening around 250 total plunder skulls (about 95% being purples), i have yet to get any witchmother servant outfit pages from a purple skull, so i dont even know if its possible drop from those

the only place i know ive gotten at least 2 witchmother pages from so far was the daily gold skull from the plucking the crow quest (if i need feathers for that i just do a dungeon which also knocks out the gold skull from there lol), however even that still seems subjected to RNG as there are other things that it can drop in place of those new outfit pages

You can buy them on Xbox NA for reasonable prices, as long as your willing to hop from spot to spot, and obviously avoid the tourist trap spots like Mournhold/Grahtwood/Wayrest.
Right now where my toon is Glenumbra, I see 3 pieces-sash, epaulets,and breeches for 10k, which is pretty doable, of course amongst those you have the greedy guses who want 50k and upwards for the same pieces.

5 boxes a day across 3 accounts: Sash, legs, jerkin, 2 x shoulders. Zero drops on one account so far and only one got the memento. Burnt out and bored with trashing dremora/maps/gravedancer stuff every day, I don't like to complain (much) but these events aren't a fraction of the fun they used to be.

The gold box from Crow daily definitely seems to be the best source for the servant motif.

Soooo many pages that I already have in my library that I've been giving them away to clear inventory space. Think I've scored 2 of the new ones.

The event is just awful, it's the same old same old, nothing new or exciting.

Combine that with the horrible drop rate for the new mediocre motif, the massive amount of clutter items that come with plunder skulls, and the very sad state of average pugs... and there's just been little to no desire to participate. Any effort ZOS put into the event seems to be limited to selling Halloween themed items in the crown store, but even then, nothing really new there either.

I really use the love the Halloween even too, this and the new life festival were two of my favorite holiday events in past years. This year though, I dunno, something is definitely different when it comes to my enjoyment for ESO.

Agreed! Events are about participating and getting ALL the limited time available items during the already time limited events. They should drop plentiful. If ZOS keeps event style drops like this, I'm no longer going to do anything beyond the tickets, as that would be just frustrating and pointless! The reason I collect style pages is because it is a fun thing to do during events, not because I have to have them. So when there is no fun, there is no point to any of it.

Keeping event style drops like this is just messed up, might as well call them double exp weeks from now on! It might help ZOS's shortterm income due to a few extra tickets sold, but longterm less and less players will participate/play in events like these. And will have less incentive to log in and gather the remaining style pieces, as there won't be any available. And when players stop participating or playing during events, they won't access the crownstore for the event sales as well. Small shortterm gain vs overal big loss.

Went day 4-5-6-7 without any of the new style drops, this should never happen! And I opened atleast 5 regular yellow dremora + one crow box every single day. How is this possible?!

Does anyone have data on the nature of timer for the servant style page drops?

Resets at daily quest reset time, or
24 hours since the last drop, or
22 hours since the last drop?

Delve, public dungeons, WB and solo normal dungeons.

No Witchmother servant motif.

Paid two pages using tickets.

An event is meant to be fun and encourage group activities and festivities celebrations. This one is not, sadly.

I feel bad for people not getting anything.

I've picked up a servant motif every day, including one from a purple plunder skull. I'm not bragging, I just want to ensure both sides of the equation are being heard from - those who are getting nothing, and those who are getting the normal amount of 1 per day that they have for these kinds of events.

I've also gotten all the recipes at least once, most 3-6 times. Plus tons of hollowjack and dremora motifs I didn't need.

I've ended up having to purchase a couple of them myself. After the first couple days I was getting one. Now it's past drops and still need two. Haven't even gotten a duplicate yet.

It's ZOS marketing strategy:

1. Make new drops are so extremely low that you use tickets to buy it.

2. Not enough tickets then buy up the tickets you need in the crown store.

I had someone from one of my guilds gift me tickets for the extra loot boxes *correction "Crates" you'll find a lot of people will actually buy the tickets for what ever reason sad but true gambling is still a thing in this game.

Thought this wasn't possible. The event announcement page states you can only get servant style pages from the yellow plunder skulls(and crow box). If this were possible, I would farm for many more plunder skulls to get the style pages. (Maybe the announcement page is wrong)

PS: Have gotten four ghastly memento boxes.

3-4 boxes a day (dolmen, WB, public, delve) x 5 days, 3 pages so far. No dupes.


edit: and yeah, "keep it rare so trader dudes can make bank!" shouldn't be a consideration on drop rates ever, let alone during events.

I actually run my daily dungeon first because I end up with 4 purple usually and that's plenty for feathers.

later today when i got on i will likely have to spend tickets again since nearing the cap, and will buy another servant page

assuming i get no additional drops, ill have 5 of the 7 pages + the new memento

as of current, ive gotten 3 servant pages from skulls, 1 page i bought with tickets (soon to be 2 tonight)

been trying to just do the crow quest once a day or that gold skull

Day 8, again no servant style drop. This is the fifth day in a row, I may be very very unlucky or something is bugged. Either way, for me this is sucking all the fun out of the event.

And I am still doing the regular 5 yellow dremora plunder skulls + the crow box every day. ( so 6/8 ) Excluding trial and arena.

PS: I activate the crow quest, then gather 4 yellow dremora skulls(for the feathers as well, two birds one stone), then finish the crow quest. After that I run a dungeon for the final yellow dremora skull. Maybe having the crow quest active messes with the yellow dremora skull's style drops?

I bought all pieces for 100k each two days ago from a guild trader, I see them for this price often. This equates to about an hour of focused harvesting and I can now ignore the event aside from grabbing super easy tickets once per day. I think the drop rates are in a fine spot, it actually gives some value to getting the pages instead of them being throwaway things like Glenmoril Wyrd or Grave Robber styles.

Have to agree with some of the previous comments about how this festival feels extremely stale.

To be honest for the last year all of the events have felt lacklustre, and half-arsed by the creative design team.

The rewards are becoming less appealing with each festival.
I'm not fussed about the terrible drop rate of the Witchmother's servant style pages as the the style is God-damn awful!! Whomever thought that up needs sacking.

All year I would look forward to the Witches and New life festivals, but now I have no excitement....as personally I know there will be no incentive for me to participate.

I got one piece since the event started. I have done 8 gold plunder skulls 2 of the days during the event all other days 7. The only thing I'm getting is the purple motif which I already have fully completed and the older gold motif which again already completed.

Than I go use my tickets to acquire the only 1 item I am missing and I am getting stuff I already have completed on my character, ugh...what gives with this.

i must be having just insane luck then lol

ive probably only avg about 3 gold skulls per day, bought 3 of the witchmother servant pages with tickets, and got the other 4 as drops from the skulls lol (i also got the memento as a drop from the skulls)

so the event still has like 6 days left and i got all the new items already

i do feel bad for those who have to fight the RNG for everything

Got a servant style page today. This time I got all except one of the yellow dremora plunder skulls without having the crow quest active. And it actually dropped from the crow box this time.

I'm starting to think that when you get the yellow dremora plunder skulls while on the crow quest, they can't drop the new style pages for some reason. Even when the style drop should have happened in one of those yellow dremora plunder skulls. Causing players to get no new style drops at all, as the game thinks we already got one for the day. Can it be a bug that the feathers actually take the servant style page's drop spot, but checks it off as if we have already gotten one?!

Ok, fwiw , given that there are only a few more days left, I’ve discovered that the drop timer resets at the daily quest reset time.

I've dropped 8, of which 3 were dupes. I don't care about the motif so I have not cared about crow quest issues if any. For some reason either I often do not see message of the drop or fail to comprehend it (due premature dementia?) for event related drops in this or in recent events in general.
I just checked my trade guild store and even while I'll never use the motif bought 2 pages I was missing for small overprice to support guild.
