Suggestion: Using undaunted keys to buy more than just shoulders, and style pages.

Just as the title said. I am going to be honest with everyone here: I am a pledge-coholic. I have so many keys and since sticker book has come out, there is no reason for me to spend keys besides the occasional shoulder motif and even then I sometimes do not buy them.

Would be cool to use undaunted keys to buy:
-Hide shoulders or other hide body pieces
-Monster / Motif helmets for extra key cost
-Titles
-Old motif style pages (Old Ebon, Old Worm Cult, Hircine, and Lich style pages.)

Expanding on undaunted keys as a currency will give players more of an incentive to continue to do pledges even if they have the monster set they need.

And when I say I have a lot of undaunted keys...

I mean I have a lot of undaunted keys. And no I will not stop getting more.

How about a giant castle that need those keys to unlock new rooms/sections of it with thematic rooms that fit the dungeons trophies you have no doubt obtained as you collected all those key?

I can see using them for old style pages. The rest I'm not to keen on.

i would bother getting keys more if we could buy curated shoulder boxes, as i see it now i dont even bother with the keys as there is almost nothing i can really buy with them outside of the outfit pages

To be fair, Undaunted keys and coffers, as they exists now, are relatively "new"; vastly improved in Update 23 with Scalebreaker. However, I think there is still room for improvement on the Update 23 changes to Undaunted Keys:
    1. Improve Undaunted Daily rewards so that Vet HM provides 3 Undaunted Keys, rather than the current 2. Vet non-HM would still provide 2 Undaunted Keys. At the moment, there isn't really any incentive to run Veteran Undaunted Dailies UNLESS you are doing HM. This mean players are less interested in running DLC Vet dailies simply because they are harder than the base game dungeons. Even 1 extra key would be some kind of incentive for players.
    2. Improve Undaunted Mystery Coffers to provide curated drops. The only reason to NOT curate, is to allow players the possibility of getting Shoulders with the specific Trait they want. With Transmutation/Reconstruction (added in 2017), its doesn't really make sense NOT to curate. Sure, there are players that don't want to reconstruct, let the 5 key "specialized" Coffers drop random traits and weights then. Consider that Urgarlag Chief-bane has 22 monster sets, that makes 66 different weights. That means that Urgarlag's Mystery Coffer has a 1/66 chance of dropping the Shoulder piece you need, in the weight that you need. That means it'd cost a player 66 keys to collect them all from Urgarlag Chief-bane alone. Currently, it costs > 100 keys, but because RNG is involved and nothing is guaranteed, no one would do it this way!
    3. Add more Undaunted Keys as random event coffer rewards. The event coffer rewards already are pretty lackluster (Siege repair kits? 2 Normal quality Treasures? Literal "junk"?). At the moment, the Undaunted Celebration seems to give Undaunted Keys as rewards in their coffers, but just like Transmutation Crystals, Undaunted Keys need to be added as well.
    4. Add more things Undaunted Keys can buy. With some of the ideas above, players should find themselves with more keys than they need now. The Undaunted Arms Pack Shoulder Motifs are nice, and I don't want the Mask motif to be purchasable (I like that you have to farm the dungeon for it). Some other ideas: more Dungeon furnishings from the Undaunted Quartermaster, Undaunted titles, Shoulders with a specific Trait, Opal motif pages, Group Repair Kits and "Greater Soul Gems" that recharge the groups weapons, but are only filled by boss level monsters)

i agree with all of this

specifically on point 2, i dont even want to buy the specific 5 key coffers that only offer 2 sets because its RNG, even though a "worse cast" is 1 in 6 in those

and dont forget, that we usually get basically 4 additional dungeons per year, which is +12 to the DLC mystery coffer every year (4 sets in 3 weights)

if we continue at the current rate, it will take only about 3 years for that mystery coffer to surpass 100 possible items

i could understand not making the "random" coffers curated due to their current cost, but if thats the case just add a coffer that IS curated, but costs significantly more (50-100 keys even), while some like the OP could easily afford it, not many would be able to, but at least your not burning those 100 keys and dont even get something you need to collect

    edit: listed wrong point lol

This game already has currency overload, I am not sure I really support wildly expanding what you can buy with keys. I wouldnt mind things already associated with pledges. For example, if its the pledge that day, maybe the vendor has motifs or even stickerbook items from that dungeon, but much more than that, I really cant support.

I definitely support curated drops from the 5 key boxes. I did the math a while ago, and while I don't remember the exact numbers, it was clear that the 5 key boxes make very little sense until you are only missing a few shoulders from that particular vendor. They are more valuable from the DLC vendor because the loot pool is bigger, but if simply trying to fill your stickerbook, it doesnt make sense to buy the 5 key until you only have like 2 shoulders left in the non DLC, and a few more in the DLC.

Oh, I agree, we have a couple redundant currencies and I'm sure it's confusing for new players!
    • Writs = crafting
    • Undaunted Keys = dungeons
    • Transmute Crystals - Transmutation Station
    • Tel Var = IC PvP
    • Alliance Points = Cyrodiil & BG PvP
    • Crowns - cash shop
    • Gems - cash shop
    • Seal of Endeavor -cash shop-lite

It's unfortunate that we have 2 different PvP currencies and one currency singularly devoted to a crafting station...

I think the 'key' is to keep Undaunted Keys as the currency for purchasing Undaunted things from the Undaunted Quartermaster and Pledge Masters, in the Undaunted camp. Similar to how Tel Var is only used and obtained in IC, or how Writs are obtained and used right there by Rolis Hlaalu and Faustina Curio. I agree that we don't want ESO to become a game with 100 different currencies that are used all over the place, but I think keeping them within the Undaunted camps is compartmentalized enough to be acceptable; IMO.

Yeah, if any currency needs some love, its writ vouchers IMO. I feel like they are mostly there so guild banks can have a bazillion crafting stations (also an area that needs looked at, as the sea of crafting stations in most guild halls is out of control).

I feel like a lot of these could be combined, or at the very least, give multiple options like the golden vendor does with gold and AP. Having an AP price for things in IC, even if a little higher based on reasonable exchange rates, would be welcome. I think Gem exclusive purchases should frankly be illegal, but at a minimum, there should be a crown option for all of it.

ive never really liked crown gems, at least any of those gem exclusives can now also be bought with the seals of endeavor, i just wish the endeavor seals didnt stack up so slow
